just started this one.....canopy done and some of the stuff u did I will still try to incorp. Liking your work so far. masking and canopy is always where I fail, so real glad u covered that.
I looked at this kit and it kind of intimidated me. A) it's Revell, B) lots of framing and strut work Apparently I was wrong so I will grab one. The plane itself has always grabbed my attention. Great work, John Thanks Dane
Hi John, that looks to be an absolutely awesome build, and for an older kif it looks great, I am looking forward to the painting episode, ax always mate, I hope you and your family are keeping safe and well, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia
Thanks very much Les - I think the kit is from 2010 and the design and engineering is top notch for Revell. I would compare it to their 1/32 P-51D kit in terms of fit and finish. Always good to hear from you!
22:40 & 24:30, 25:07, 25:2626:00 or so I noticed the bumping sound; it's as if the mic stand is being bumped or a table leg is uneven and is bumping the floor. The music interlude sounds good, though!
Kip - after reviewing the video I think that sound is my chair on the floor mat. My mic is plugged into the camera and is attached just to the camera body. I recently tightened the bolts on the chair - perhaps something has shifted?
I picked this kit up a couple of years ago at a show. I was surprised that they are now hard to find, but I'm sure they're lurking on some hobby shop shelves somewhere. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful plane. The Revell kit is a great platform to work on. I Highly recommend using the hphmodels resin canopy set though. The kit canopy is really ruiining the all project. Keep up the good work.

I felt that the canopy wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Looking forward to hearing about your build! Thanks for watching.
Great build John.
Thank you very Michael!

Great subject matter, John, I’m very interested.
Glad you like it. It’s a well-engineered kit and I’m enjoying it for the most part. Thanks for dropping in!

Thanks for the lead - I'll sit down tomorrow and take a look. Once I watch it I'll let you know.

That's a cool bird. Haven't seen to many of those, but I think I want to find me that kit if its not to hard to find.. Cant wait to see this build.

Nice!
Thank you very much Mitko! I appreciate you watching!

Thanks very much Kostas - if I did it again I would use the HpH canopy for sure. Thanks for watching!
I second that motion. The clear resin canopy MAKES that kit. If you can find the PE set, that helps, too.
John, I noted a bit of distracting thumping noises during this segment but your work looks very nice, especially the interior (so far).
Thanks Kip - I'll have to re-watch it. Not quite sure what it could be. Was there a specific time reference?
Nice progress,, what thinner did you use for the RC paint for it to chip?
I used Mr Leveling Thinner for the Real Colors paints. I find that it works on most brands of paint. Thanks for watching!
