Wow, that last stock, had me heart going.
Also remember how WebbJP took Acola to last stock last hit game five not that long ago, it was amazing.

Brooo, Beast’s Squirtle can cook. Shoulda let him be the head chef! Let Zard bus the plates because he should just stay in the background. Good set

Beast threw by staying Charizard on that last stock, but Webb's the better player anyway so

The thing is Squirtle is so light Sheik can actually get kills at reasonable percents against him, it's the standard PT strategy to switch Pokemon to live longer. And when it comes to Beast he is known for his Charizard and it's his best Pokemon.

@@Dribin Nah. Not in this MU. Charizard's just a big slow target. Sheik doesn't have convenient ways to kill out of her main set ups and since Squirtle is small, it goes double for him.

Zard dilt sends at a nasty angle and nair gimps heavy. Forcing recovery options is hilariously effective in this game.

Also pt is meant to be a solo main. Not a co or secondary. And once you realize that any character can beat any matchup pt makes alot more sense. Pt is 3 characters in one. So if you have three different playstyles they cater to but yet can do them all quite well that is essentially 9 different basic playstyles your opponent has to remember to matchup check. Squirtle alone has good enough buttons to be competitively viable. Also dont go for ivysaur dair. Oh and squirtle offstage Is absolutely nuts. Be up a stock though because your probably not coming back. Also water gun can force alot of things. Whiffs weird reactions from your opponent. Sometimes flamethrower is enough to make someone panic. Resets recovery. Setup for dilt 2 frame. Don't go for zard bair offstage. Just simply throw out a nair hitbox and watch how much space you cover. Get really good and comfortable with waterfall and fly offstage. Even vine whip can be a good mixup. Squirtle nair is good offstage too. Pt got tools for days and I honestly think that the only reason there's not proper representation is how time consuming learning all the little niche things with the character and then it leads to be like oh just go for squirtle filt 😂 character got soooo much more than that. It is alot of work though and you do have to have nerves of steel to play this character optimally. 😂

I can get the points you made but I would disagree saying to flat out not use some of their best aerials. Don't go for Ivy dair?? Its the size of Bowser's hurtbox. I wouldn't say go for it every time, maybe theres more consistent options for ledge trapping or trying to use the active frames of nair for coverage. But completely ignoring dairs use would be pretty counter intuitive Id say. Same with Zard bair, it reaches surprisingly high, kills way to early if you space the strong hit, and is hard to contest bc its disjointed. I still understand the use of nair, but I would say making use of all their moves in their respective situations would be best.

anyone noticed Beast lost his last stock because of a panic airdodge? He was good, then he pressed a button lol
edit: Loving Webjp, such a Sheik inspiration. Just makes me want to play smash so badly and git gut
