Thank you for the review and the discount code! We just signed up for the free trail. My daughter is already working on her animal. Hopefully, this is a great way to introducing writing as a subject. We do transcription and dictation only right now. She loves to write little short stories but I can’t correct any spelling or grammar errors. This fear of writing developed after the months we had to do the virtual show. Will update if we sign up after the trail, I hope she goes for it! 💗
We're absolutely going to check this out! Both my boys (8 & 7) love "writing" stories...but I'm the scribe & they illustrate. They both have asked to learn typing. This might just be the answer to my prayers! Thank you for sharing.
You are on the right track as the scribe. Little boys have tremendous ideas, it is about getting them onto paper that they struggle. I scribed a lot for my sons and then after they learned to write, I helped with editing. I always encourage what I like to call "stream of consciousness" writing, basically, get those ideas down on the paper. Even if it is spelled badly, grammatically incorrect, it doesn't matter, it is the idea that is the key.
Perfect! My son is 10 and he has transformed with this program. It's almost like a game but he's really learning a lot, and it has given him a love of writing. Good luck to you and your son!
@@mandy-maltz thank you so much and God willing this will help. This Is also our 1st year homeschooling and this has been an issue since I can remember but never took the responsibility to help unfortunately.
I’ve never heard of this. We’ve used IEW but my daughter hates writing. She hates the physical act though. Very creative, otherwise. So we’re gonna have to try this free trial. We’re using Masterbooks, language lessons currently and there’s not really writing in that from what I can tell so far.
Thank you for this review and offer! I made a note of this program like 2 montgs ago, but like you, have been hesitant. My 13 y.o. daughter hates writing, woukd rather type, but even the thought process of creating a writen product overwhelms her. So while tge age range recommends to 12, I'm going to sample it for her and my 11y.o. daughter and 8y.o. son who has been struggling to learn to read. He is only now starting to write sentences. I pray this will be a benefit to my family and many others! The discount code is most helpful - thanks again!
We love IEW for my older two, however I'm a mama stretched for time. I think this might be a great option for my third kiddo. Thank you for sharing!!!!
@@mandy-maltz YAY! We started our free trial this morning. We used your link to sign up with also. Huge savings since we have 2 boys. So far they love it....👌🤩👌 Thank you for the recommendation 😊
We just got the free trial.. honestly I feel like it’s a little creepy. It’s about monsters that are crossed between two animals. It’s pretty dark-themed, imo. My girls don’t watch traditional movies and shows from Hollywood.. this is giving me a super strong negative vibe in the same way those movies do. 😭
Did you feel like the age question they asked was a good fit for the level they placed him in? For example my son is newly 10 (4th) but he's delayed so his writing and reading is about a 2nd grade level. Should I place him at the age level 7/8? Can you adjust the level if you feel like it's not a good fit once you sign up? This looks so great! Just nervous about the placement.
Mandy, my youngest is really wanting to red the books and use the printables & drawing portions of NZK. He has no interest in the computer writing/drawing. Do you feel it's will work for us if we aren't using the online part?
You can get the books without the online subscription. I might look into that option. You can check them out here (aff link): www.nightzookeeper.com/shop/products/complete-book-series?ref=mandymaltz&tap_a=107220-9ef5b6
Could this be used as a complete curriculum for younger grades (with handwriting supplements of course) or in your judgment is it best as a supplement?
One of my girls needs a little help and encouragement with reading so this is a really good idea for her. Thank you so much for sharing. I will for sure be looking into Night Zookeeper. I'm so glad I found your channel!
Hello I have a special needs daughter that is supposed to be in 7th grade but we are doing 4th grade work. Looking for a you tuber to follow or one of you that can recommend a math curriculum. She flips her numbers and also make someone that uses a spine and does read aloud that she can understand at a 4th grade level. She can read just doesn't like too. Thank you for any help.
It depends on the child, really. Some are shorter than others. My son has to be dragged off, honestly. If we don't pay attention, he'll keep going all afternoon. We have to limit his time on NZK 😂 He enjoys it though, which is great. This isn't a curriculum, we are still doing his regular Abeka, however we are using it as a supplement for writing, composition, and typing.
@@mandy-maltz My 10-year-old daughter has started her trial subscription, and she's been on the computer for 2 hours now. lol. What's even more amazing to me, is that my 6-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum, is very interested in what she's doing! He's brilliant in math, but when it comes to writing, he absolutely refuses. But he wants me to get him an account too!! Fingers crossed it helps him, because getting him to even hold a pencil is a nightmare nevermind actually write anything....
This program looks really fun. I’m definitely thinking of trying it out. Thank you for the review. I have a question for you...do you know how important typing skills are in the early years? My daughter is in 1st grade right now and can only type very basic words and very slowly. Will that be a huge deterrent for us?
Thank you for the review and the discount code!

This is an amazing program! My children have been using Nigh Zoo Keeper for months now.
We love it, too!
Thanks for the video. PD this haircut is gorgeous!

Well maybe don't have assighment because its one idea not their own
Where was this program when I worked in schools? 😭😭😭😭
How do you decide what they should do within Night Zookeeper each day? Is there a curriculum to follow?
My husband just showed me this last night .He had seen an advertisement for it. I can’t wait to hear your review.
Thanks for your opinion! I’m excited to have my daughter try this program. Also, I love your hair!
Mandy, I just ordered using your link today! Thank you friend 😘
We don’t start IEW until at least 5th grade. I think the night zookeeper program is perfect for those elementary years, grades 3-5.
It's really fantastic, isn't it?!
Thanks for this great review. And ps... your hair is On Point today!!! Hooray for great hair days!! 😉
Thank you so much my kids struggle with this so bad. Can wait to try.

Can you use night zookeeper at your own pace? We already have a language arts program that is ok but there is no emphasis on creative writing.

Yes. You can adjust the level at any time.
Are you still using this? What are your current views on this program?
Will this work on iPad? Instead of desktop

Would it work for a 3rd grader whose reading is mediocre at best because of ADHD?

I wasn’t told of an expiration date since I’m an official affiliate of theirs :)
How old is your child that is using it?
NZK is for ages 8-12, my son started at age 9/10 and he’s 11 now.
I wrote 2 essays on Minecraft so yea
