बात कितना पैसा मिला वो नहीं है...बात है पैसा किस जरिए से मिला । जिन कंपनियों पर ed की raid पड़ी उसके कुछ दिनों बाद ही वो एक बड़ा amount ke bonds खरीदती है।
अगर ईमानदारी से पैसा मिले तो ठीक है। पर अगर govt. ED ke जरिए फिरौती मांगी तो ये चिंता वाली बात है।
It’s not about the amount but what these donors got in return. The whole rule about secrecy in the bonds reeked of lack of transparency. This is corruption of the highest level if there was quid pro quo
So how was it done before bonds? Did we have full transparency? No black money was involved? At least this system was better. Companies showed the amount on tax return and political parties showed it too.

पहले यह नियम तो था कि केवल लाभ कमाने वाली कंपनी अपने लाभ का केवल 7.5% ही चंदा देगी लेकिन पहले क्योंकि चंदा कैश में दिया जाता था, तो इस नियम का पालन नहीं हो पाता था। किसी कंपनी ने किसी राजनीतिक दल को करोड़ों रुपए में नकदी में चंदा दे दिया तो वो कहीं भी रिकॉर्ड में नहीं आता था, भले ही वो एक प्रतिशत है या 7.5 या कितने ही प्रतिशत।

why will supreme court give suggestion or advice, laws are made by parliament not by them. they just give verdicts on the basis of laws made by elected representatives in parliament. the only thing that can be done is to go to constitutional bench incase any one feels any law is against our constituion.
Ya, they don't have time except hearing bail petitions. Laws made by Parliament are to be respected and suggestions for improvement are welcome. But to have knowledge only to say that this wrong but I don't know the solution - reflects shirking of responsibility. Another example is Judges appointing Judges? Is this not Quid Pro Quo? The Judges' case jurisprudence has well-established the caselaws that'll determine how they'll be elected.

Incorrect - judges at the higher judiciary are appointed by a collegium. They do not appoint themselves.
Judges in the lower judiciary may be appointed or may come through the batches of state service.

Why should the executive have a say in how the judiciary is selected? I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but the constitution has a right to defend itself - even if it's against the state.

Questions of Nikhil were definitely directed to criticism of government and pointing government has done some big scandal but clarifications of Rahul ji were very balanced and realistic . Electoral bond से क्म से क्म फंडिंग का पता चला यह व्यवस्था 1950 से ही होनी चाहिए थी जब कांग्रेस के सिवाय कोई सभी सीट पर उम्मीदवार भी नहीं उतार पाते थे
कांग्रेस के पास 70 वर्ष का समय था उसने क्यों चुनावी खर्च के लिए धन का समुचित प्रबंध सभी दलों के लिए क्यों नहीं किया
अब इसमें पारदर्शिता कुछ नहीं होगी, अब पुरानी पद्धति पर वापस चले जायेंगे। अब सारा पैसा कैश से मिलेगा, जो पार्टियां २०,००० से कम डोनेशन दिखाएंगी (क्योंकि इसके लिए पार्टी को पैसा देने वाले का हिसाब नहीं रखना पड़ता है)।

At first they passed CAA to hide electoral bond scam. And now they arrested Arvind Kejriwal. I am waiting to see who will india support this time ?? Unsurprising to see Rahul Srivastava defend electoral bonds. The quintessential opportunist.
Justifying an unconstitutional bond regime by claiming it'll reduce funds for opposition parties - almost as if he didn't read the Hon'ble Supreme Court judgement at all.
Funding the ruling party and possible quid pro quo (as the SC said) is a far bigger danger to democracy than the opppsition getting lesser funding.
In fact, opposition parties get lesser funding precisely because companies wish to use these opaque quid pro quo arrangements with the ruling party. On the ruling party's hand, central agencies may be used to cower down opposition parties.
