I hope you guys enjoy PART 2! Loved sharing this trip with ya'll. Just to address a few comments I'm seeing: we just purchased a Berkey water filter system a few days ago. Super excited to get this out to the remote cabin. Thinking about buying one for the main cabin too. Regarding plumbing in water from the well (because we had questions about the pipe freezing etc)...the pipe that the water currently comes out of does not freeze, it's a constant flow of water. Piping the water into the cabin will be a free-flow system. It won't be stopped by a faucet...Joe plans to install a diverter valve, so that when we're not using the sink, we can divert the water back outside. So the water will never stop flowing from the well.😉

I would get the water from the artesian well checked. T We had one in Wisconsin and the water was the sweetest best water I have ever tasted. Oh what fun you all had at the cabin. The sleigh riding was a blast..and glad you didn't sink further into the snow when Joe helped you out Tina. Thanks for sharing!😊

Tina you and Joe is hilarious 😂....Tina when you getting stuck in the snow and Joe is trying to get you out, I almost peed in my clothes from laughing 😂 at you guys. Not to be paranoid, but I’m a laboratorian and the most recent quality tests they list for their products were done in 2014. This stuff is made in China. A reputable company would list lab testing for each lot number of filters or at least annually if the lots didn’t change in performance.

Kellen is looking so healthy and happy. He is getting so much love and attention. Not to mention the memories he would never have had. Parker is such a good boy and CUTE. The dogs are so content. What a great investment you and Joe made buying that cabin. All I could think while you took down the wire baskets is that not everyone is as handy and talented as Joe. You have it good Tina.

The views are extraordinary. I just can only imagine how gorgeous is going to be when all the snow is gone and the river running free. I'm watching this beautiful video on March 22nd. The “toboggan run” is insanely cool. Thank you for strapping a camera on the boys to give us a first hand view. Thinking it might be fun to give it a name. We had a nearby place with a tree on top of a mountain. In the summer it was called swing mountain for the tire swing hanging from the tree. The same mountain was called snow mountain in the winter for obvious reasons…sledding!

Tell Joe to bring a couple well built pallets next time stacked on eachother and tow them behind the snowmobile to groom and pack in the trail up the hill to the cabin, will help make the trail more packed, smooth, and square! Make it easier to get the sleds up the hill! Lots of videos on TH-cam for homemade groomers check them out!!

Oh my goodness girl!!! I busted out laughing so hard and so long when you went down that hill in the sled!!! My husband thought I had lost my mind. I'm still laughing. Precious memories for the rest of y'all's lives. PS I built a cattle panel greenhouse very very similar to the one y'all built in Virginia. I kept rewatching it for pointers but cracked up about the hammer. I never noticed it until you said something. I guess I was paying attention to the work and design more than the others. Lol. Tell Joe to use whatever hammer he wants and to heck with picky people. Lol

I so would sled down that hill, too! This Grandma rolled down a large green grass hill with my grandson 2 summers ago and would do it again if the challenge was thrown down. Playful adventures, memorable fun!

That is a terrific luge course the boys have goin’ there. I have one of those whirligig things with the clothes pins on it. It rocks for snow gloves, gardening gloves, aprons, etc etc

Tina just for you to think about to dry your wet clothes above the heater! I lived in a cabin on a lake in northern Maine and I put up wooden towel bars on the wooden ceiling upside down to hang our wet clothes on hangers….Worked great and everything blended in perfectly! Sylvia

Such a good vacation for the family, I'd love to live out in cabin, but it takes lots of planning for sure, plant wild strawberries by cabin,great treat for you and birds but bears love berries too! You may have lots of berries already growing you can't see yet. It's a great life for the hardy, definitely not for city dwellers they'd get board to easy. But you folks have two great cabins !
