Diana Krall is not only a great musician, but also a wonderful person. I met her and got her autograph in 1995. On the same concert, Christian McBride was the other featured artist. I had the pleasure to meet him and get his autograph as well.
Thank you for letting us know about the issue. I bought from Amazon, can you please let us know once you get resolution on the issue. I will reach out to AP on my end to see what they plan to do for third party sellers.
Hi Mike. Acoustic Sounds gave me a credit instead of sending out the yet to be released 2nd disc. They originally told me that they would replace the defective disc (and it was bad as I have a VPI Prime Sig w/Lyra Kleos) and to destroy the bad disc. Got an email a few weeks later that I was to return complete disc for credit (which I have done and received credit). Periphery ring is well worth it. Glad I have had mine at the lower price from a few years back. Check your mail from the SACD review you did. I sent you an email regarding the Sasha V. Cheers
Acoustic sounds is horrible to do business with. Slow delivery and they make returns a nightmare. I have that periphery ring too. It's a big pain in the ass. I just use mine like a flywheel and never use it to flatten a record. It's also difficult to clean if you want it looking perfect without grease or fingerprints.
I enjoy your episodes. How about starting with an artist and migrating to another group to see how it evolves. Ring - be sure your tonearm(s) and cartridges work with it.
Checking that out now with VPI. Thank you for the suggestion on starting with and artist and following thier tracks as they go through life. Excellent Idea. Thank you!
An OG the Art of Tea is very good mastered by Doug Sax. Speakers Corner released an audiophile edition of this lp. There was also a half speed mastered version of Tiger in the Rain released by Super Disc I believe in the 1980's. I realize you are looking for the full catalog, but this is what we have at the moment.
Hey Mike.......looked, but didn't see a Steely Dan Pretzel Logic UHQR review though I saw it in the background of your Aja review. Would like to get your take on in my opinion is a muffled mess and Katy Lied isn't that much better. Sadly both need more top end upper frequencies to me. I'm sure others would dispute this or maybe not.
My reveiw of Katy Lied will be out this week. I do agree with you that Pretzel Logic and in my opinion Countdown to ecstasy are a little on the soft side and not what I was expecting. Especially compared to Can't buy a thrill, AJA and Goucho. My guess is the back up tapes on these were not as good ast the others. I did find the Pretzel Logic UHQR to be a little better than my OG but not by very much. Certianly not $150 better. Hope this helps. Thank you.
I liked her for a while. Saw her in concert 3 or 4 times. Got originals of these albums, but simply do not listen to her, anymore. Just too soft. Lounge music. Moved on. Still like, Glad Rag Doll, though, that everyone hates.
Hard to believe the infallible Acoustic Sounds made this big of a blunder. Chad needs to spend less time inserting himself in YT videos with goofy thumbs up yuks and spend more time in the quality control booth. How does something like this get passed over.
Good suggestion. I am supprised that it has taken as long as it has for replacements to be pressed. I have had a few of the Atlantic 75 albums that I have had issues with but they have been good to send out replacements very quickly. But not with this one. Intresting, I have never had to return a MOFI album because of deffects. Thank you.
Popsicle Toes. Nothing original. Done by Michael franks back in the 70s who's version was much better than her bland version with her extremely limited vocal range. She is also frequently off key too. She reminds me of the garbage fast food they sell on every corner. Guitar work and drums however are excellent on this song. Piano work mediocre; reminds me of Linus playing his toy piano.
Diana Krall. She sings with no feeling and her voice has no substance. I have a couple of her SACDs. They put me to sleep. Her piano skills are good. She shouldn’t sing. What happened to the great jazz vocalists of the past? They’re gone and replaced with these kind of mediocre bland offerings. It’s kind of like the USA. Junk food on every corner and ugly strip malls make so many towns look the same. It’s all garbage.
Actually to be honest her voice is wonderful to nap too! Tascam you have to agree that she is at least good to look at? Thanks Tascam I love your input on my video's. Have at great Day!
@@MikesVinylExperience I don't know what she looks like now without all the makeup, lighting, and filters. Her voice reminds me of some of the American women I have dating over the years: Bland, soulless, dead, zero personality, and devoid of passion like fizzed out soda pop. I like it if I want to lay on the sofa and take a nap. Otherwise, I prefer some of the great jazz singers with power and passion such as Ella or Sarah Vaughan
I like the way you have the wide angle on the camera showing everything in the foreground and your Watt Puppies in the background. Looks very nice.
Thank you Chris! I have always thought less of me and more of anything else! Thanks again.
The Acoustic Sound Live in Paris is one of the best live jazz recordings ever.

WoW! That would have been amzing! I love her music and am hoping she will hit North America soon. Thank you for Sharing!

Yes, I was hoping it would have been replaced by now but still waiting. I will post when mine replacement shows up. Thank you.

Thank you Greg, i will check with Acoustic Sounds on the return. I will likely snag the Periphery ring soon. I will check my mail. Thanks again Greg.

Popsicle Toes is a Michael Franks cover tune. Wish somebody would come out with a full catalog of Michael Franks reissues on audiophile vinyl.

@@vinylrules4838 I've got "The Art Of Tea" on vinyl and most of the CD's but would like the vinyl.
Yes! I would love that as well. I have two or three of his albums and love them. Art of Tea and Tiger in the rain and excellent albums. Thank you.
Diana Krall, lover her early stuff All for You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio, Only Trust Your Heart are great .
Agree. She is fun to listen too. Thank you.

Love Grad Rag Doll. I pull her stuff out when I want to relax and forget about everything for a few minuets. Thank You!
