Liebe Sina, wieder ein fantastisches Cover von Dir! "Lola" hast Du exzellent an den Drums interpretiert. Es ist immer wieder eine Freude, Dich am Schlagzeug zu sehen und zu hören!
Oh my gosh did this ever bring back some memories for me Sina. This was such a huge hit for the Kinks in 1970. It started a lot of conversations that's for sure. Great job Sina. Thank you!
Always the perfect choice in selecting what to cover. A great blast from the past brought into current times. We get to really hear the drum parts because the way you mix them down. You wonderful guys in the boat always make the greats a bit better when we see them now. Too bad these older songs were made so short to play on the radio. A ten minute version of Lola would have been nice. Take Care Sina & Nils.
I remember hearing this song on the radio for the first time we all loved it. Then we learned the story behind it and we all had a good laugh. It seems like yesterday but I’m old now and some of my friends have left this world. I raise my cup to them and thank you for bringing there memory back to me.
@@olgacodazzi5787 I was born in 1945. Then there were only two genders, male and female. Now it seems you can be anything you want to be. That is what ericdere is talking about.
@@davidrassler329 There are still only two genders. However, gender isn't binary. Rather, it is more of a continuum. It wasn't binary in 1945 and it isn't in 2024. Songs like this make me think of the good old days, the 1950's...when there were films like "Glen or Glenda", made about trans people by a trans person. Great American literature like the poem The Howl by Alan Ginsberg is another example. There have always been trans people, and there always will be. Open your heart and your eyes. You'll be a happier person for it.
Ist schon faszinierend, wie ernsthaft und hochkonzentriert ein so junges Mädel wie Du zur Sache geht. Hätte ich eine Band, wärst Du für die Schlagzeugbesetzung für mich die erste Wahl. Mach weiter so, Du hast's echt drauf!

Wow, Sina. Thank you for taking on a wonderful but forgotten song from 50 years ago. Even though it was played to death on the radio, at my student union and by bar bands at the time, it isn't heard anymore on classic stations. I loved your take on "Lola", it brought a huge smile to my face. Bravo.
I don't know which impresses me more, your playing or the way you look while playing. There is something in your smile that takes me back 50 years... remembering high school girls who got all of my attention.
My favorite Kinks song just got refreshed by Sina. She sure did Mick Avory proud. You know who else would approve? Ray Davies (rhythm guitar/vocals), Dave Davies (lead guitar/back vocals), John Gosling (keyboards), and John Dalton (bass). They played on the original recording. Sina’s musicality is through the roof.
Great cover of a great song! I always love these drum covers of classic songs because you bring the drumming to the front and not lost in the mix. It's interesting picking up on the little nuances that aren't noticeable in the originals. I'm always learning things from you, Sina. Another job well done! ❤

It's very rare to find someone so young with such great talent. Your work on this song was fantastic and brought back happy old memories. Thank you, thank you very much!
It impresses me to see a young lady like yourself with a talent like yours and the appreciation for the classics. I tip my hat to you and wish you the best and the most. Rock on.......
Wonderful. It brings back memories of childhood and school days. Good selection and well done, as always. Thanks, Sina, and thanks also to Nils for the video. Rock on 😎
I have herd that song a thousand times and never really thought about how complex the drumming was until I watched you bang it out. And you mastered it beautifully!
Sina, you’ve done it again, you covered an old song I like, one that is on the playlists of some FM stations I often listen to. After 50+ years Lola is still around. Surely, this fantastic cover you’ve done will help keep it as popular as ever. Btw, love the thumbnail pic, especially so the larger one that is on your Patreon page. In the video, the braid and ribbon look great as do you:) Thank you for always brightening my days!! I hope all is well with you. Take care.
Lola brought The Kinks back into the public's mindset again after amazing previous albums that were ignored by the general public in the 60s and this song revived their career. The Kinks did many themed albums of a Rock Opera nature. It was this era and the next revival was when Van Halen covered You Really Got Me for a new generation and on the back of that had a successful career in America and UK Europe Australia and New Zealand in the 80s!!! 😊 Thank you Sina for recognising Mick Avory as an amazing Rock drummer who was very briefly a member of an early Rolling Stones!!!
Agree, although I was all Beatles then. Later a guy at work would argue that Kinks was better. Kind of a jerk. So was Ray Davies, but the same could be said of Lennon also. So there we are. A legacy of music living for ever.
Aside from the sterling drumming, I love to see young musicians enjoying the classics and performing them! And Sina's rendition is impeccable as always, with those little personal touches and additions of hers that never go further than what the song needs, and this is proof of high musician maturity at such a young age! You have a wonderful talent and a great future ahead of you Sina 💚🙏
From what I have read… “Playing in the pocket is the intuitive and palpable “locking in” to the rhythmic integrity and feel of the piece of music you are trying to play. It's the ideal blend of rhythmic accuracy and soul. It's the push and pull that feels both practiced and human.” This sums up your style!
Age does have its advantages!!! I can finally sit back and not only appreciate a gifted artist’s work, but now I can understand why I enjoy what I am listening to.
As I said. It was something I read somewhere (wish I could remember where) and it occurred to me that it describes Sina's very sophisticated style on every cover. When Sina performs with a live band, her talent shines through exponentially and is without bounds.
Thank you for bringing that up. As an former drummer and still curious i always wondered why some perfomances are so catchy ( like Steward Copeland at Police ) . never heard about that term of " playing in the box ". Learnt some.
