You are missing an important factor. The son of man had the Spirit without measure! Something none of us posses. Looking at the kings and shieks of the world with the understanding that God puts men in positions over governments inorder to perform God's will in unbelieving nations, yet allowing such outrageous lifestyles committing what those of us in the west as ultra sinful lifestyles. We often view scripture from a very limited viewpoint thinking we have to meet ideological standards that are not intended for us. The scripture that speaks loudest to me in this realm of theology is Rom. 11:36 Alll things are by Him, all things are for Him, and all things are to Him! Ponder that passage in the light of much of what is preached today.

@@כורשדבר-יהוהבןישראלJesus is making the law harder on the sermon on the mount. He's shedding light on people's inability to follow the law to highlight their need for a savior. Jesus says that anyone who breaks the least of the commandments will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. James 2:10 offers a similar viewpoint in how an individual who breaks one of the commandments at any point is guilty of breaking all of it. The only individual to have truly fulfilled the law, or fulfill the commandments he said on the sermon on the mount without offending any of them at any point is Jesus himself. No individual can truly live the sermon on the mount. That is why we trust in Jesus' work on the cross and the burden he bore for all humanity. So the sermon is not so much Jesus telling us what we absolutely must do, as much as it is telling us the things we cannot do.

You cannot be perfect in this weak mortal flesh that has by no part of our own doing, inherited sin through the manipulation of the devils lies and the free will of our first mother and father.... Yet, you do strive to be as sinless as possible in this fallen world to the best of your ability and also through prayer with the helpers of righteousness be chastised and purified over and over again in the course of our lives by trial and tribulations.... Repentance should be daily for we error even without knowing, but also thanksgiving... God Almighty knows the heart and our mental capacity, surely judging accordingly to each individual as God is Unfathomably Omnipotent and Just....
He's saying not to beat yourself over the head with guilt because we ultimately fall short of the glory of God... But I add that we should obviously try our very best to rid ourselves of every single sin possible... Crawling an inch to the infinite narrow path in a decade is not a step in the wrong direction...

You can't do it on your own, but with God everything is possible.
Through the Holy Spirit we can do it. The saints managed to become saints by letting the Holy Spirit work through them as Christ did when he was on earth.
Not everyone will do it, but if you truly want it, you can do it by asking God to do it for you, through you. You just have to forget the world, and focus on Christ.
This is why people go to monasteries or live as hermits, to achieve this perfection.
But even if we live in the world, we can do it by letting Jesus do it for us. We need to surrender to him and let him transform us.

But if that’s what we are judging our brothers & sisters based on (see Lordship Salvationists) then doesn’t that negate mercy, love, forgiveness, compassion, patience? If the body of Christ did no sin, there would be no need for any of these things. Essentially they would only be reserved for our enemies.

@BingoNamo-gb8pz Anyone who knows he is a sinner, does his best, and truthfully asks the Lord to save him will be saved. But some Christians are given so much grace that they become saints. These saints do many miracles, and that is the proof they have perfected God's love in them.

Hrm, even our righteousness is as filthy rags. God's grace is needed from start to finish - and it IS finished. We can come boldly to the throne of grace! Now I work freely, already cleared, already loved - confident that He'll finish the good work begun in me. My burden of trying my best is lifted. It's becoming more and more delightful to trust in God, and the more I love him from that freedom, the more he's teaching me His heart and conforming me to his loving image, by grace. I didn't deserve any amount of it. It's all grace. He delights in our trust. Our cups really will run over.

False prophet! The Word of God is spiritually discerned and usually the things in God's Word have a literally meaning that is used as a metaphor so we can better understand the points being made. When Jesus says 'if your right eye causes you to sin pluck it out' he's emphasizing that it's better to rid yourself of anything that causes you to sin than to be separated from God because sin is separation from God. He isn't saying we should literally pluck out our eye or cut off our hand. Much like when Paul says in Romans that we should be circumcised of the heart.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
    1 John 1:9
We can live a perfect and holy life here on earth through the power of the Holy Spirit, but if we go on sinning(willfully) after we confess our sins then we won't be forgiven. If we humble ourselves and realize that we can do nothing without Christ then He will give us His Holy Spirit so that we can overcome the things of this world. We don't have to go on sinning, in fact we cannot if we want to be in right standing with God. But if we sin, because it's possible that we might, Christ gives us a way out:
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
    1 John 2:1‭-‬2 KJV
So many people believe this narrative that we can't live sinless lives because it's told to us by modern day religion, but what does God's Word say? That's all that matters. Stop looking for excuses to sin and start looking for reasons to live holy. God bless.

If you believe you are sinless, you are mistaken.. Who on earth can take captive every thought and live fully in service and love to God and others? No one but Christ! We use that not as an excuse, but as a reality check of humility. Humble yourself before God and you will be exalted.. but those who exalt themselves, will be humbled

“We can live a perfect and holy life here on Earth through the power of the Holy Spirit”. No. Just no, you are gravely mistaken if you truly believe you are sinless after receiving the Holy Spirit. @@jamesbarger5241 You quote 1 John but you leave out the next verse 8 which says, “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” This was my point and one you should take to heart: That no one is without sin, except Christ. Not in the past or the present. We are to try to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect, but never ever are we to say we are without sin.. Let us be careful about labeling someone a false prophet! For whatever judgement you judge, you too will be judged..

I have no issue putting the rest of 1 John:1, I wasn't "leaving it out", the Bible should be read as a whole and not cherry picked to fit our lifestyles but rather the opposite, we should fit in with what the Bible says and the ONLY way to do that is with the Holy Spirit. "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"; it doesn't say 'all are sinning and and falling short of the glory of God'. Why all the warnings against sin if we can just "accept Christ" and then go on sinning? Seems the Bible could have been a lot shorter if that were the case. Do you believe you can do all things through Christ Jesus? If so, wouldn't that include not sinning? If not, then the Holy Spirit's purpose in our lives is what? The Bible has to make sense as a whole and if you think a scripture says one thing but then there's another scripture that contradicts what you think it means then it can't mean what you thought. Stop reading what you believe and start believing what your read. God bless

Plucking out an eye and chopping off a hand means getting rid of an un believer to make the body “pure.” True believers although will always fall short aspire to be perfect, hate to sin, and actually work hard at not willfully sinning. I think some people are overreacting to what Andrew Farley said. It's not a complete sermon. HE SAID HE CAN'T DO IT ON HUMAN EFFORT. AND NOR CAN ANY OF US!! But by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, on the other hand...(Ephesians 2:1-10, Titus 2:11-14, Titus 3:3-7) The point of the Sermon on the Mount is to show us the futility of our human efforts to be righteous. Jesus lived and laid down the perfectly righteous life that we weren't able to live. He was made to be sin who knew no sin, that we might become the righteousness of God IN HIM (2 Corinthians 5:21). Our salvation is 💯 God's doing; otherwise none of us seek after God (Romans 3:10-12). Only the Father can draw us and complete the work within us that He initiated (John 6:37,John 3:16-17, Philippians 1:6).

If something in your life causes you to sin, cut it off. Forgive as you have been forgiven, why would God forgive you if you don't forgive others? Perdone como Dios perdonado a ti, porque Dios va perdonar a ti si uste no perdona a otros? We have all fallen short of the glory of God, but the good news is that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

It's not impossible!!! It is written!!! That's the goal. It's not meant to be all literal. Read between the lions and the lambs. Do you know when your heart sinks when someone almost gets hurt a close call? I feel Jesus feels the same every time someone sins, he forgives. I feel the effort is what he needs from us because we are supposed to watch our words and actions speak louder. I feel he doesn't want you to pluck out your eye he wants you to take your eye away from the situation that is causing you grief, harm, or further away from God. Sometimes, we have to change, be mindful, and step into another's shoes. It's all about heart, be the light. The more we practice, the more we see what we sew. When in doubt, turn to God, talk with him. Be the salt, season the earth with good actions. Jesus put his feelings out there. Jesus intended to give you direction to respond to situations reasonably and how to walk away from something bad to save you grief and stressful situations so that you can be strong enough through him to break the evil cycle of the way of the world. If someone is standing in front of you yelling in your face by your car, what's better, stand and yell back or get in your car and leave the situation? While you're driving away, take the time to pray for the person who was yelling at you instead of allowing yourself to get angry and let it eat you up. It's about your reaction and self-control. You can't help others unless you help yourself first. Sew seeds to yourself before you tell someone else how to grow a garden. Humble oneself. He is the bread of life. The living water. It's all about the choices we make in life and the words we spend our time saying. I feel that if we talk less and listen more, we are better able to learn from our challenges and choices. God=Love Faith=Trust Love=Light Jesus died on the cross and suffered for us so we can be forgiven, we can't be forgiven unless we forgive. Build others up, It's not impossible because through God, nothing is impossible ❤

Always state Biblical truth with the results being between the recipient and God the Father. It’s only the Holy Spirit Who can guide into all truth (John 4:34-38, John 14:16-17 and 26, John 16:13).
You’ll do yourself a favor by heeding 2 Timothy 2:23, Ephesians 5:11 and 1 John 4:1. If you value you at all, the passages will be studied (not just “read” but “studied”). Forever’s a long time. There’s only one way to be saved. Neither cults nor false religions teach it.

    This is the way→†
Lord God Almighty is a holy, just, righteous, and very jealous God, the one true God, who can't have sin in His presence so if you try to get to heaven through how good you are, it won't work because you and I have broken God's law the ten commandments which is the moral law: if you've ever lied in your life, if you ever stolen in your life, if you've ever lusted after anybody in your life, if you ever been angry at someone in your life, if you've ever coveted someone's items, been jealous of what someone else has, then you've broken God's law and guess what you'd be like everyone else because every single person has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and the wages of sin is death that's why it's been appointed to every person to face death then the judgment but God has a gift of grace which is offered to all and that is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, he is the Son of God, God in the flesh, the visible image of the invisible God for God is Spirit and he was born of a virgin and died on the cross of Calvary for our sins 2000 years ago in Israel and God raised him from the dead 3 days later conquering hell and death, taking the keys of hell and death, after revealing himself to the 11 disciples then to over 500 more disciples in a spand of 40 days, he ascended to heaven and he's now on the right hand of God being a mediator for all who call on the name of the Lord to be saved for he's coming again to judge the dead and the living and put an end to the deceiver, the spirit of disobedience, the devil and all those deceived by him, putting an end to all wickedness but if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and repent, turn away from your lifestyle of sin and turn to a lifestyle that's pleasing to God, having a relationship with God, being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost which is the Spirit of Truth, the comforter and you will be saved; allow the Holy Ghost to lead you into all truth through abiding in the Word of God and keeping the ten commandments; you are washed clean through the blood of Lord Jesus Christ that was shed on the cross because his blood is the only blood that has no sin in it and you will have the hope assurance that when he comes again in that eastern hemisphere you will be raised to eternal life but if you choose to reject the Messiah you're choosing death over your life because you'd be choosing sin over the Saviour and if you choose sin over the Saviour you're putting yourself on the path of destruction instead of on the narrow path and God would be justified to send you to hell but God wants no one to perish but all to come to repentance so humble yourself and submit to God He has such an amazing plan for your life and He loves you and care for you, that's why Lord Jesus Christ willingly died on the cross for you, he took the full wrath of God being in the most excruciating pain, suffering to the point of death so that he may be the bridge for you to have a relationship with God, be forgiven of your sins, and have eternal life, he showed that the suffering that we face in this life is not comparable to the glory that we will have in God's presence. It is by grace through faith in Lord Jesus Christ that you are saved, not of works that no one may boast and you are counted righteous by faith in Lord Jesus Christ alone.
