Ich habe vor Jahren Diskus vermehrt und konnte kaum aufstehen, nach dem ewig langen Sitzen und Staunen! Dieses Staunen und Erfreuen hatte ich heute wieder! Hervorragendes Video, das unglaublich gut diese Gefühle hervorruft! Danke!!
Nun, so weit würde ich nicht gehen. Diskus haben sich eine faszinierende Nische ausgesucht und besetzt. Deine Nahaufnahmen zeigen sehr schön, wie das Mysterium Diskus funktioniert.

artemia, brine, bloodworms, tubifex and a special mixture of all and an own preparation of beef heart mix, vitamins, minerals etc.
hi I take osmosis water, mix it up with freshwater and TETRA Toru Min and sera mineral salt. ph = 5.5 temperature is 29. I use an UV water clearer.

Agree - not sure about Regensburg, but if you need good natural source, it is definitely in Bomerwald/Sumava...:-)
Yes thank you, Bomerwald/Sumava would be good :-) Our water from the water line is not suitable. But I'm mixing it myself. Pure osmosis water and various additives, so it is always the same. I change every second day 1/3 of the water in the aquarium

Bomerwald/Sumava is an easy job - pH 5,6, zero dgH, traces of peat - not the tastiest for humans, but my fish love it!

I would love to take care of them but here in the Dominican Republic there are none
Unfortunately not a gift, organizing a professional fish airlift to the Dominican Republic would entail enormous costs. This would also be very stressful for the animals and not every would survive. And then it's questionable whether the fish could be imported at all. I'm very sorry.

That is just wonderful, Yes I must give Discus a try!! Saving my pennies now? What do you feed them on? I hear there fusst feeders! what about you tank water, RO or tap, soft or hard......
thanks for Your comment. Discus are very extraordinary fish. Highly intelligent, sensitive and delicate in terms of feed and water quality. A science in itself. I recommend to read a good book about discus attitude before you buy it. The valuable animals are expensive and a loss is tragic. Good luck to you!

if the water quality and the feeding is right there are no losses. During this breeding I had no losses whatsoever, although I keep it close to nature, with plants and substrate

Can you tell me what's the percentage of the r/o water you mixed with the tap water please? I used the r/o water for my breeding pair, but the ph crash and killed the male, this pair lay eggs for me 6 times but the parents eat them all, now I don't know where to find the mate.
Hi, I prepare the water entirely by myself. I do not give tap water to the breeding aquarium. I take osmosis water pure, I add corresponding salts and minerals (and a natural water purifier from the pet trade), and let the water mature under light air bubbling for about 1 week. I always reciprocate only 1/3 of the aquarium water. I check daily ph, nitrite and nitrate.
