Im telling you, salons have completely changed in the last 8 years. I went to Juut salon a year ago for my first really pricey haircut and i thought the more money spent, the better the haircut right? Nope. It was choppy and uneven. I now only cut my own hair with the at-home butterfly method. My bangs i have only ever cut myself and i have never been happier with my hair. The only thing i use money for my hair now is shampoo, conditioner and styling products.
Some tips for getting bangs: Whether you do them on your own or go to a hairdresser, remember that it takes time for your hair to conform to the new shape. They will likely separate a lot in the beginning, but consistent styling will allow them to come together and form a true bang. Getting bangs with curly hair is a risk. They are really difficult to make look good, especially if you plan on leaving them curly. Be prepared to have to style them everyday, whether you leave them curly or not. (I made this mistake myself. Nothing I did ever made them look good. Some hair types and curl patterns just don’t do well with bangs.) As someone has already said, If you cut them yourself do not twist your hair and cut them much longer than you think. Trim them shorter in small increments. Also, invest in a pair of hair cutting scissors. You’ll have to buy new ones once they grow dull from use, but a super sharp pair of scissors is a must. Edit: go to a good hairdresser. Look at reviews and pricing. Some cheap hairdressers are good, but if you want layers or something a bit intricate, be prepared to spend some money for a good cut. Most talented hairdressers are expensive, so you get what you pay for. If you want something simple, save that money and go to a cheap place!
K so a little helpful tip for people who cut their bangs too short you can buy fake bangs they are basicly clip on bangs that you put on over the real bangs it looks pretty realistic and will cover it up till it grows out 😬👍good luck p.s. You may need to order 2 colors if you have a unique hair color and see which works or buy a blonde one and dye it
You have to go to expensive shops just to be safe. Those cheap $5 haircuts will leave you in regret for a year. The expensive one are those customers who are willing to wait just for their haircut.

Most of the bangs fails were because they took a huge piece of hair. Bangs are not supposed to be this thick... I'm know from personal experience. And you also have to blow dry it the right way, if you used to wear your hair part in the middle, obviously when you cut it it will be like that...
If you’re gonna cut bangs… DONT PULL THE HAIR SUPER STRAIGHT.. collect it so it’s all even but don’t try to make it as long as possible cuz you’re stretching it, and once you cut it and let go… it’s going to lay natural and not be pulled and stretched and be shorter !!!! And plz.. always cut to the middle of ur nose or under the eye first, then trim
I never trust anyone to touch my hair and I have never regretted it. It is not that hard if you keep a few things in mind. 1. Don't cut wet hair. 2. Trim up in between fingers that are holding hair. 3. You can always trim more so it's better to do a little at a time instead of all the length at once. Curly hair is different and give yourself at least 1/2 inch extra. It will get shorter the more you cut bc it's lighter and will curl more. 4. Section it the way you usually style it. 5. When doing bangs and use the twist method, cut up UNDER your fingers. 6. Use serrated scissors for layers
Omg tysm for making this vid it makes me feel so much better about my hair bc all i have to do is grow it a little bit longer 4 it to look how it was before but some of theses r UNFIXABLE!!!
I’m sorry to the ladies, who really had their hair screwed up. I still do not understand why GenZ is deciding to cut their own hair specifically with craft scissors or any other kind of scissors that are in the house. Just go to the salon and get a haircut instead of doing it yourself I don’t.
Because hairstylists are still people who can easily fuck it up or make human errors. If the haircut is shit I'd rather it be by my own hand without paying money
girl, it's not just gen z (let alone all of them) doing this. ppl in like every gen cut their hair by themselves @ some point in their lives. please stop with the generational hate it doesn't do anyone any good.
Always cut your bangs at least an inch longer than your goal. Use the scissors upwards like your hairdresser would and take your time. NEVER pull the hair straight, you’ll end up with much shorter lengths than you wanted.
Colored my hair for years! When I started going really gray I went to a great colorist spent a small fortune for her to make gray. I’m happy and she got a big tip!
When I cut my bangs, I make a triangle, then I twist it and decide how long or short it should be and cut it as I slowly release it from the twist. I usually do them longer first then I gather them between my fore and middle fingers and cut upwards, still in a twist as I don't like it when my bangs are straight as my hair is wavy and usually curls up a lot at the ends after a wash. And it turns out waay better than if my mom were to do it.
if you have curly hair and are cutting your bangs cut at your nose. i have curly hair and my uncl who is a BARBER cut my bands to my eyebrows and they went to the middle of my forehead. Cut nose length
Its funny to see people suffer like this, the moments when the realization hits LMAO anyway some of these arent even that bad and just need a bit of styling
4:19 in the Basque Country (Spain), women who follow a particular aesthetic and political ideas cut their fringes this way, so perhaps this girl should move there and start a new life. No one will be surprised lol
I'm in the UK and I was talking to my hairdresser about some places are so bad and she was saying that anybody can open a hair dressing Salon whether they have qualifications or not!!
My main question is do all the people cutting bangs (especially when they twist) forget the common laws of physics? Like when you PULL your hair down it's gonna bounce up shorter than where you cut it. Also why doesn't anyone cut a little long just to be safe?
To the last woman - bangs in US are a fringe in other places. Have no idea why you are pulling it to fit into your middle part when the whole concept is to let it be an actual fringe! So gently blowdry it with a roll brush and you can wear it that way or can sweep slightly to one side. YOu seem used to the centre part at all costs thing.
This is definitely the term "fake it til u make it " , pew going the beauty school taught me alot! & like seriously even if I didn't WHY do girls use regular scissors???

Omg tysm for making this vid it makes me feel so much better about my hair bc all i have to do is grow it a little bit longer 4 it to look how it was before but some of theses r UNFIXABLE!!!
WHAT KIND OF HAIRDRESSER WOULD BLEACH ROOTS FIRST? WTF, na-ah, if someone do that to you, just stand up and leave, dont let them keep going
I’m here watching hair fails to feel better about myself for messing up my own hair 🥰
The first one lol!
Wow pretty awesome like it you look amazing lol
So glad that Inam not the only crazy woman in this world😂
I’m so glad that I watched Brad Mondo video before I cut my bangs, he’s amazing ❤️
I have one hair stylist that I trust, ever single time i've gone to a different stylist they never follow instructions, she is the GOAT.
Как говорится « волосы не зубы-отрастут!»
Where does the word "bangs" come from, I've always called it a fringe!
3:42 it looks like she has a wig on 😅
When I cut my bangs, I make a triangle, then I twist it and decide how long or short it should be and cut it as I slowly release it from the twist. I usually do them longer first then I gather them between my fore and middle fingers and cut upwards, still in a twist as I don't like it when my bangs are straight as my hair is wavy and usually curls up a lot at the ends after a wash. And it turns out waay better than if my mom were to do it.
11:22 Love it!
3:05 this was so obviously going to FAIL
if you have curly hair and are cutting your bangs cut at your nose. i have curly hair and my uncl who is a BARBER cut my bands to my eyebrows and they went to the middle of my forehead. Cut nose length
2:08 Bruh wys that looks good
I think 11:24 looks pretty cool, I don’t know why it’s here
Its funny to see people suffer like this, the moments when the realization hits LMAO anyway some of these arent even that bad and just need a bit of styling
4:19 in the Basque Country (Spain), women who follow a particular aesthetic and political ideas cut their fringes this way, so perhaps this girl should move there and start a new life. No one will be surprised lol
Doing it wrong yourself is 1 thing, but if a so called professional is doing their job like that… Unbelievable
my reaction to most of these: "Girl, what did you think was gonna happen!?"
Because it wouldn't go viral then... 😂
I tried to cut my own bangs once and ran right across the street to the hair salon to get them fixed.
I also cut my own bangs and it turned out so bad so I watched some tutorial to cut bangs to fix it😀😭
How to cut**
I don’t trust my hair with hairdressers
To the last woman - bangs in US are a fringe in other places. Have no idea why you are pulling it to fit into your middle part when the whole concept is to let it be an actual fringe! So gently blowdry it with a roll brush and you can wear it that way or can sweep slightly to one side. YOu seem used to the centre part at all costs thing.
1:17 LOOKED SO PRETTY THOUGHH-
🚨PEOPLE🚨
WHYYYY
DO NOT CUT ABOVE HAIRTIES OR FINGERS CUT IT 🚨BELOW🚨 IT WON’T BE SHORTER THAN YOU WANT THAT WAY
This is definitely the term "fake it til u make it " , pew going the beauty school taught me alot! & like seriously even if I didn't WHY do girls use regular scissors???
30 seconds in and im DEAD! 💀🤣
11:26 i looove this hairstyle!
Why do people twist their bangs and then cut them... What is the point in twisting them??? Someone please tell me... Thank you!!! 💙
