In case you didn’t notice, the final mission is a near identical remake of the final mission of mw3 where you storm Makarov’s facility in armor to finish him once and for all. The storyline for this game is inspired heavily by the original Modern Warfare trilogy.
The same company (Sledgehammer) involvement in their last Call of Duty was MW3, they had to bring it back for old times sake. Also one thing I've noticed about them is that 3/4 games made by Sledgehammer - excluding cold war - are actually my top 3 favourite Call of Duties ever. Just goes to show how great of a company they are. All of the campaigns and graphics were so ahead of their time as well, just movie masterpieces.
imagine a guy walks in with a gun aiming at you and your friend and says "I can't tell which one stuck me, they both look the same. *EXACTLY... THE SAME*
The last mission is essentially the same as the last one from MW 3. The last part of the mission has you get separated from your ally (Gideon in AW and Yuri in MW3) Then you have to chase after the bad guy before he gets away, but right before you reach him you have to do a couple quick time events.
I generally liked the campaign, and honestly the story too, the only thing I didn't like was the robots, because dumping ammo into them is like- ;-; but I loved Ethan
So hyped for IW. Campaign absolutely blew me away. I was not expecting to enjoy IW at all and only got it for MWR, but IW had me so hooked that I barely even touched MWR. Campaign managed to blow my mind every mission. A few tips for IW: 1) Make sure to complete side missions first! They unlock perks, weapons, and gear for you to use. 2) There are ballistic and energy weapons. Ballistic weapons are best for infantry while energy weapons are best for robots. Energy weapons can ricochet off of hard objects as well so avoid shooting walls horizontal with you head on. Customizing your kits before each mission is key to giving you your best shot. 3) Play on Hardened of course. Gives you less assist and more control when it comes to a major gameplay element I won't mention for spoilers. 4) Look for secrets! Lots of weapons, perks, and gear are hidden throughout each level. Perks will automatically be equipped for the rest of the campaign and future playthroughs. Weapons and gear you find will also be available. Adds a lot of replayability hunting down all the secrets. 5) Play it again on Specialist difficulty one day. It completely changes how the game is played. Have to manage health, armor, and injuries. Taking damage in limbs can limit your certain elements like getting shot in the arm will increase recoil. Getting shot in the leg will slow your movement speed. If your weapon gets shot, you drop it and have to pick it back up. If your helmet breaks, you can be one shot to the head. Don't have to play it immediately after beating it, but it's definitely worth another playthrough of it! Maybe once you run out of stories to play in CoD, Battlefield, MoH, and Tf2 then you can get Specialist difficulty a try.
ADVANCED WARFARE REWRITE: So the game opens with a young Jonathan Irons, working as a mercenary. He and a crew of mercs are trying to stabilize [insert country of choice]. The mission goes sideways but they complete the objective and escape. Irons then begins thinking about building his own organization. Missions 2-4 continue to follow young Irons as he continues working for his current organization while gaining enough support so he could leave and start his own business. The game then fast forwards two decades and Will, Mitchell, and Cormack are going into South Korea. Mission plays out the same except Will and Mitchell swap places and Will actually interacts with Gideon in the subway station. They continue with the mission and Mitchell is killed and Will's arm is cut off. He later is approached by his dad and offers him a cool robot arm and a position at Atlas. Will joins Atlas and hangs out with Gideon (changing nothing from the second mission). Will, Gideon, and Joker are later sent in to deal with Hades, a local terrorist leader who's simply trying to gain power in the region of [insert country of choice]. The next three missions, you track Hades as he's involving himself in other regions. Also, Will finds intel in all of these missions. After you kill Hades, you go to Atlas' new HQ in Baghdad and with the intel you've required, Illona breaks the news, that Irons was funding Hades and destabilizing nations just he could come in and assert his power, even sparking the conflict that got Mitchell killed. The mission where Mitchell (replaced with Will) and Illona escape Baghdad with help from Cormack remains the same. Sentinel, Crash, Throttle, Captured, and Terminus are all the same except Mitchell's replaced with Will Irons (giving Jonathan Irons a reason not to kill you).
The voice actor for Gideon is the same for Blackburn in bf3 (your character). He was also in modern warfare (2019), halo 5, Destiny, black ops 1, halo wars 1 and 2 and mw1. He's been in loads of stuff but these are the ones you've played or will be playing. His name irl is Gideon too
Also a hats off to the final mission of MW3 1. where they were in the two juggernaut suits they had invading makarovs structure. 2. Irons “drops” to die, and mitchels hand goes limp like prices when he smokes the cigar
Luke you should listen to the Intel audio logs they add quite a bit of background to Irons character, his motives, and the choice he had with Mantacore. It could have been a miracle cure or a deadly weapon. They really did a good job with World building in this.
On throttle I used to take the guys out of the turrets at the perfect time where the warbird was flying next to it and have the guy go into the blades and then grapple into the warbird taking that out
We need to make a petition for advanced warfare 2. The story is gonna go like, Will is gonna pull a anakin and irons got wills body after will died and irons is working to bring will back throughout the campaign in secret and after irons dies, will comes back alive and have hatred for Mitchell and will takes over atlas and become worst than his father. If you think abt it, it makes sense cause irons did say they have prosthetic that would take the government 20 years to even get close to it, so it is possible will comes back
