Loving this product, looks perfect for the ga pilot with a smaller sim room. Always struggled with the Garmin menus just using the mouse, so hopefully this will make that a lot easier. Gutted I missed the Kickstarter, no idea how this passed me by, but just ordered it online for a estimated November delivery.
Does the Octavi ifr work on any airliner for comms and the autopilot buttons?
Love my Octavi.
You can do this with the PM5 GTN750 Premium; My favorite add-on. I use the autopilot all the time. I open it on my second monitor. The only thing missing is the knob and NAV 2. That said, this looks like a nice product.
Overkill - do you have any videos on how to actually setup the Octavi with MobiFlight? Completely new to this device as well as MobiFlight and MSFS so I have the trifecta of newbdom to overcome. Any assistance would be appreciated. Might this be on Patreon?
Amazing product. Can the knob be used like a knobster?
Haven't tried that but I wouldn't see why not. 3rd party programs like SPAD for example do detect it
I would really like to order one of these. My issue is they charge $152 euros for it and they want another $75 euros in shipping. Refuse to pay another 50% for shipping. Anyone know how to get one with out the high shipping cost?
hi i am interested in comparing the octavi to the flightsim builder gns 530 in VR. i want to learn the 530 and was looking to buy hardware to mimic it especially the rotary dials (the bane of my existence with a mouse)
Oof... that's a tough one...
So the GNS 530 is going to be much easier to learn as you have a visual reference staring at you in VR
BUT it will be to be mounted and only effective with the 430/530
The Octavi will have a but longer learning curve as it will be strictly based on muscle memory.. but it's much smaller and could easily be set in your lap if necessary
Thanks for that. i have ordered the RSB GNS530 after watching your review@@OverkillSimulations
Like the product, but the price point is.......nope. stuff like the G100 I get the price point as its specialty. It'll only appeal to hard-core simmers or training if it's faa approved. But my HC can do the lions share of the same and is a throttle for not much price difference. When I first saw this I figured like 75 bucks, thats pretty good. Figured it'd be a fun buy until I saw the price.
the price is ridiculous
@@ClayunderSealagreed.
I have it, but so far it doesn’t work. Did you try it with another craft besides the 172?? I contacted the sellers and received little to no help. My advice, if you are a computer wiz, get it, otherwise wait till they have proper instructions on TH-cam or manual.
I wouldnt say that the price is ridiculous! Its a very very well thought out product. Theres an unbelievable amount of work and dedication behind this thing. Worth every penny!
