    This may sound crazy, but of all your videos I have watched, and I've watched a LOT of them, this was by far the most helpful. I've read about packing boxes for Amazon for weeks, but to actually see you do it has alleviated all of my, surely, self-created fears. Thanks so much!

    Yes, Thanks, That was all the "push" I really needed to continue. I think all a newbie needs is the instrucitons " Now Go to "Seller Central" and scroll over "Inventory" tab in the upper left hand corner, click "Manage FBA Shipments" find the shipment you are
    working on and click the yellow button that says: "work on shipment". Once you click that button Amazon walks you through the process and makes it quite simple"
    That gave me the confidence that I was doing the right thing, Thanks

    Hi. Thank you for this great demo video. I just had a couple questions.
    1. Did you put an Amazon FBA label to each of your book?
    2. Do we need to shrink wrap each book or we don't need to package books at all?
    Thank for your time !

    I find this interesting because of the fact that everywhere I look online, people say to always ship UPS. As far as the 15 dollar shipping goes, it was for a 16x12x12 box weighing 45 pounds. You may pay more for shipping than I do but I bet you ship a lot more in one box than I have been so far. Also Rob, have you noticed that when text book season comes, you lose money because you forget to up the prices. I've scanned books that were worthless and then 2 months later they're up in rank + value.

    Thanks bro, that was really just what I needed. I found a bunch of books, and my box had a little more space than I wanted it to have. I was able to fill the void with newspaper stuffed inside of plastic grocery bags. Didn't realize I could do that! Nice job on the video!

    Great videos! I am new to fba and appreciate all your tips and tricks. I have had an online store before and found that if you place an order at a packaging supply wholesaler the costs go way down. Just google for your area. The minimum orders are usually small and mine even delivers in my area once a week for free if the order is $100 or more. I can order boxes of all sizes and quality, packing paper, tape, bubble wrap, plastic bags in various sizes, etc. at deep discounts.

    Thanks for answering. Can we sell new toys also or are we only able to sell "collectible" used toys out of production? I look forward to your future videos. I have been following Nathan's blog for over a year but never took any action, but after seeing your videos I feel really pumped/motivated to finally start.

    I packed up my first box of books to send to FBA last night! Of course, they aren't all expensive books. Some of them are only 10 dollar books, but I'm just testing the waters with fba with this first shipment. If half the books sell quickly, then I'll definitely start using fba as my main way of selling.

    Thanks your videos have been really helpful for me. I'm sure you've mentioned this before somewhere but can I mix DVD's and CD's in with books? A guy who I run into at the thrift store told me that you can't mix certain items together in a shipment, in this case he was referring to board games and the like.

    Hi there. When I am preparing a shipment Amazon tells me which products go to what warehouse. I put all of the products going to the same warehouse in their own area. When I am ready to pack a box I use the products that I have put in that area for the warehouse (books often go to the same warehouse). I have never had an issue with Amazon cutting my products but I often put a piece of cardboard on top as a "buffer" anyway. Thanks for watching and commenting! Take Care -Rob

    I've now shipped a few boxes successfully. I just created a new shipment and FBA is using DHL as its preferred carrier. There is no DHL location within one hour from me and I thought UPS was the designated carrier. Do you recommend using UPS anyway or would it cost too much? I've grown comfortable shipping 50 pound boxes for 15 dollars! Thanks Rob.

    Hi man, this video was really helpful, big like. I have a question, I am very new in trading-in in Amazon. So, basically I've done everything you did but I'm not sure how exactly to mail the box! Do I have to take it to the USPS office staff or there is a place that I can leave it in the USPS office without having to wait in line and give it to USPS staff??

  • @scottsmith2393

    Very Helpful. Could you direct me to specific instructions on what to do after fba power creates the list and product labels. FBA Power just seems to just say "Go to Amazon" and follow their instructions from there. There doesn't seem to be a good example anywhere that shows how to get the packing list, and the shipping labels that goes on the box and in the box. There's kind of a void there for a newbie. I would like to see you go from FBA Power to Amazon and get the final packing slip,etc.

  • @leanstrength7074

    Thats interesting! I had a conversation with another regular who I see at thrift stores in my area and we discussed prices, ranks and the scenarios where buying certain books is beneficial. Personally I've been selling on amazon since November last year and I've sold 3 books in the 3 to 4 million ranks so I will go that deep rank wise for books if they can sell for 30 or more.

  • @leanstrength7074

    I can use UPS, USPS or Fedex for this particular order but in order to do so I have to click off of the amazon preferred box.I was so busy today that I didn't get to the UPS store but I will be bringing that box there tomorrow. I just selected UPS and it didn't give me the typical options to enter weight and dimensions and therefore didn't print out the typical two shipping labels (only printed one). Apparently I have to pay when I get there tomorrow.....

    Hello, obviously this comment is too late for your question but just for future help the most recommendable way would be to ship out in a cardboard box. a bubble bag is more fragile. keep in mind that amazon's reputation is in jeopardy. i have worked with many companies like amazon, drugstore, walmart, bestbuy, wayfair, ebay, sportsman, and many other pickier companies with no problem so far. I am charged of distribution at work. Also for supplies in quantity you can try uline.com. hope helps!

    I labeled my products according to FBA Power instructions at scaled 90% in the print settings of my Dymoe 450. After I labeld several items (100+ cds, etc.) I realized the condition note on the label was cut off,ex. "New Item" below the bar code and name of the product, "New Item" was cut off. Am I going to have to remove and redo all the labels again? Does "New Item" have to be on the label? Can I stick a new one over the other one? Your thoughts?
    Thanks...

    Two questions (and sorry if these are already answered):
    --How do you know when preparing the packing list exactly which items will fit in each box?
    --When the boxes arrive in the warehouse and they're opened by guys with box cutters, the item on top might be sliced. Has that been a problem for you? I've always put an extra layer of cardboard between the top of the box and first item to guard against this.

    Thanks for the video! I'm wondering about spiral-bound books, specifically textbooks. Do they have to be wrapped in any way to send them in to Amazon fba? I've searched the web and forums and can't really find a definitive answer. Some people say use stretch wrap that can be bought at home improvement stores, but I hate to do that if not required. What's your opinion?

    Rob, which printer do you use for printing the packing slip? And which one for printing labels? If a book does not have a bar code already, do you assign a UPC code to it and place this on the back cover of the book? Do you print UPC barcodes on the same printer as you do the labels? Do you use a scanner to enter this data simultaneously on the FBA workflow? Many thanks for the great advice. Cheers, John

    That is so funny, Rob! Definitely, keep up the laziness! As someone who is just starting out, I can tell you that it's the small "technical" details that are the most frightening and confusing to us. Seeing things like how you pack a box and what the scanners and PDA's look like are what we need to get us going.

    Thumbs up :) Has using the newspaper and plastic bags always worked well for you when sending books? I'm concerned that if the box becomes upside down the weight of the books will really compress the newspaper/plastic bags and the books will have room to move around and be damaged. In general I'd love to hear your advice on best, cheapest/free dunnage for sending books to Amazon warehouses. :)

    • @dollarmoves
      @dollarmoves  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kyle Hoffman Hi there! Yes, the plastic bags with newspaper does work great with books but I make sure that the newspaper is filled in pretty tight when the books are heavy. I will also use pieces of cardboard to fill in small holes between books. The thing that I like to do most is to just cut the box down with my box cutting tool (here is a video!): th-cam.com/video/lsCxNXx9V4Q/w-d-xo.html

    Hi, I want to start selling books on Amazon. I've been watching some of your videos, they're really helpful, thanks for all you share; but I have some questions, could you please help me? I would like to know exactly what "tools and materials" I'll need to start. I noticed that you need an Amazon seller account, FBA account, UPS account, as tools. And as materials, you have scanners, printers, scale, boxes, etc. It would be really helpful to have a list (like ingredients in a recipe) of everything we need. I'm new at this. Other question I have is: if you have a book that is posted at $0.01 in Amazon, how can you make a profit out of it? Why do people sell books at $ 0.01? Thanks for your help.

    For a female book flipper, how would you recommend packing the box if you don't want to have any more than 20 pounds of weight and still have the box books arrive safe?

      +Rhonda Nelson Hello there! You could always get smaller boxes and/or cut the boxes down to size. If you found smaller boxes around that would probably be the best idea. If you fill a box half way and then use void fill to take up the remaining space the books might shift around (unless you pack the void fill tight)! Thanks for watching and commenting! That’s a lot of books ordered by someone. I wish Amazon would pack my ordered books meticulously like his guy as I often encounter damaged corners on my books.

    I didn't realize that DHL is a subsidiary of UPS. It just says DHL but I still prints out the same UPS labels. Oh well, you live and learn I suppose. I'm getting more accustomed to the process now.

    I don't know why but I was under the impression newspaper was not acceptable. Has Amazon ever complained about either the plastic bag or the newspaper?

    How do you get a packing slip?

    • @dollarmoves
      @dollarmoves  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. Amazon no longer needs the packing slip shown in the video. However they ARE requesting that people add box contents slips in each box now. This is not currently a requirement BUT will be something that they will require in the future. I know that ScanPower (www.dollarmoves.com/SP) is working on something that will make that process easy and I'm looking forward to seeing it/using it! Thanks for watching and commenting! Best place to buy boxes and labels cheap?

    • @dollarmoves
      @dollarmoves  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Tom! You can get many seller products (including labels) on my website at: www.DollarMoves.com/Resources If you are looking for cheap Dymo labels you can find them there...click on the picture and there are two links on the right hand side for options...the regular Dymo label and "House" labels and both are cheap! There are a TON of great products on the website! As far as the boxes are concerned you can get the ones shows in the video at Walmart for cheap and they are PERFECT SIZE for just under 50 lbs of books. Thank YOU for watching and commenting! Hi there. I haven't heard that about this video but I apologize. This video was made before I updated my equipment to better audio and I believe I was also sick when I made it. Hopefully you were able to get the idea with the low volume issue. Thanks for watching and commenting! Take Care -Rob

    @Rob I've just started to sell on Amazon and I have a few specifics questions that I would like to ask you privately. I was also wondering if you could be interested to coach a new seller....maybe we could discuss a deal that could be profitable for both of us. Please let me know what would be the best way to contact you (email, facebook??) if you are interested by my offer. Thank you!
