PRN Travel ICU Nurse who lives in Florida but works in California. Ok I need the Sonographer version of this because if I can make close to a million dollars in 1 yr, I would do this for now on. Do for 1 yr and take 6 months to a year break to travel and then start back working to make another close to million.
In Illinois Too. My Daughter Is In Registered Nursing Program. They Are Paying For Her School And Getting Money Back. Go To Community Colleges In Your Community. They Will Pay For Your Nursing Degree.
I am an RN Currently work In ER Trama In New York , next tear I will be a travel Nurses. 3 of my friends are travel Nurses’s I can’t wait to join the PRN travel team ..to make the money i deserve ..❤❤
Ok, when she clarified that she was working 6 days a week, it all made sense. Yeah nope, no thanks, it's not for me. You can still get pretty close to this if you're willing to work 6 days/week on the right job. I'm working a seasonal contract right now that pays 3K/week, and more than 2x for any OT. One of my coworkers doing the same contract made 300K here in 6 months last year, by working 5 shifts/week. You would not catch me DEAD doing that. I need to enjoy my life!!
That is crazy, I am here in central Florida , making 32.67$ per hour with almost 2 years of experience as a staff in a PCU neuro floor .Despite of working overtime, I can’t even save for a down payment for a house.
In the Illinois and Missouri area they are always short of nurses. Back in 2007 I was signed up with 3 agencies. All Staff Nursing, Favorite Nursing and HFS. They had daily pay. I worked 8 to 16 hours shift 7 days a week. Making over 4k a week. I miss those days (the money). Now I have a delivery company. Watching this video makes me want to go back.
DUDE, what did she buy every week making over 10K/wk😱 I was shook when I heard she didn’t invest a ton of it or buy a house😅 You best be coming out on top after travel nursing… not being in debt🤦🏻♂️
It hurt me just as much. She rented 7 apartments to sublet them via the Airbnb arbitrage method. Spent a lot of money putting those investments together but ended up losing a lot. Also spent money on materialistic things. I was just as shocked as you (and probably everyone else who watched this video), but thankfully she has learned her lesson and invests a huge portion of her income. She is also still earning over $300k/yr while working as a PRN nurse.
GREAT INTERVIEW! She’s on 🔥 fire. 🔥 hopefully she will make some better decisions for investing and managing her high income. Jason, you and Monica have been amazing to share how you managed your budget. High pay doesn’t always mean financial success. It’s what assets you retain and what residual value you gain from your investments. As for PRN Specialist RN’s, very high paying. Hospitals must have these RN’s and they’re in high demand because of their high value. Another example would be an PACU or an OR RN.
Thanks Doug! She’s definitely on fire. I hope sharing her story helps other nurses avoid some of the financial mistakes she made, but also learn from her with how she corrected those mistakes. Monica and I had our own wake-up call when we first started earning higher incomes as nurses in NYC. At first, we spent all of our money on travels and materialistic items-just like her-but it took a lot of convincing Monica that it’s not about how much we make, but how much we keep and invest that really matters. High pay alone doesn’t guarantee financial security, and managing it well is the key.
it’s hard not to go on spending sprees when you’re making a lot of money. For me it was just making sure that I wasn’t throwing away rent money and was investing in a mortgage payment. Now, if you have to live in another City or State, try to find a way to get your room and board paid or rent something as a business expense. Hire a professional to help you figure this out if you don’t know how to manage your finances strategically.
Learned so much. I heard of nurses flying out to California for PRN shifts but going back home to live in Florida. Does Lovely help with that as well? Or back to live in their home state wherever that maybe.
Hello, I am a nurse trained in the UK. I remember watching your videos some time ago when I was still as a student nurse. Then I graduated in 2021. I have been almost 3 years as the OR Nurse. (Theatre Practitioner ).Your videos are very informative, You inspired me to think to move to the States but the process seems really complex i.e. choose a state I will work in, which state is best to work in as a theatre nurse etc., passing NCLEX and finding the best trustworthy agencytha could facilitate this process of moving. . Thank you for a very interesting content. Greetings from London.
Great interview! Can't believe Lovely was suspended for not wearing PPE during the initial pandemic, her supervisor should have been on top of that. That's why everyone should have an FU fund but good thing as nurses we have tons of options.
Right? It’s ridiculous that she got fired for something that wasn’t even her fault. Her job didn’t provide proper PPE, and she had to make do with a surgical mask while a whole team rolls in with hazmat suits. That’s why should all have a back up plan and be prepared for it-because stuff like this happens way too often. Thankfully, nurses have options, but it still blows my mind how things like this happen way too often.
I love how passionate you both are. I'm learning a lot from you both. Thank you for talking about bad financial choices. I feel like we need to learn more about this and be open about how we can save and investments when the money is rolling in.
Yes Bx hospitals right now 8-10 pts on med surg floor I ct name the hospital coz I am on contract and one floor 5 ppl quit one day and we dt get break and we dt hv any break nurses we cover each other
I just invested in my first new multifamily apartment building, which will have 5 units that will come fully furnished with garages. It's possible to do so and get out of the lie of looking rich and being rich!
What about starting a family? Drawbacks of travel nursing is impacts to starting or maintaining a steady family if you have kids. Making a lot of money at what cost?
Beautiful personality! The work ethic & hustle is amazing! But even after taxes making a milly how you got in debt? I would have like to hear more about that
I'm confused when people always talk about Florida Staffing ratios but when I work as a travel nurse up north they did not have any moral or ethics to their staffing ratio. I was given 8 to 10 patients while in Florida in the ER i am given 3 to 5 patients max, and I have been a travel nurse in the ER in for a while. So now, when someone talks about the ratios in Florida, I always ask them do you know about northeast ratios Because for some reason, the ratio is up north are never talked about while Florida is. Even though we dont have state mandated ratios hospital specific ratios are a thing and they try to stick to them. Also, I've been a resource nurse in florida it's mainly when they were over staffed or a busy floor needed the extra help with meds and labs or wound care.
Jeez the comment about making $30-31hr being awful killed my spirit 😭 that’s what I currently make in Pennsylvania and the average ranges from $25-$33 as an LPN
ER nurse in Brooklyn. Not better lol. Business as usual. Also did an ER contact in spring 2021 with Loyal Source at Maimonides. On South side it was easily 12 to 20 pts each shift
Yea I remember those times they we're offering $100 an hour during the pandemic, she cashed out on covid. Some people we're willing to risk their lives working in those hospitals. My mothers friend passed from working in a hospital in canada during the SARS pandemic. It's dirty money working around diseased patients. It's expensive because your putting your life at risk. What a great story though.
@@MianAbubakar-r2r hello, it depends on the agency and the facility requirements. Some agencies want at least 2 years of RN experience (a few settle for 1 year) of your field of specialty. I’ve done contract work for the last 2 years and preparing to start it up again.
Yes. Mostly people that made Atleast 110+k monthly can make 1 million in year invest (1.4 mil.) I’ve done it & my nurse friend & we both bought a house she’s in Europe I’m here in Washington. I visited her 2 years ago & we both try to do business :-)) I had my Mercedes Benz. So I really has show for it! City college to state is the cheapest route but will also be the most competitive. Private will be the least competitive but most expensive. Half city and half college would be in the middle of the road. She can also start in a city college for her prerequisites and get a job in a Healthcare company that will pay for her tuition.
I definitely believe it but most likely she’s a Nurse practitioner making that kind of money which is pretty much on the same level as a doctor. Regular Nurses wouldn’t have the potential to make that kind of money in a hospital or medical facility unless they were to open up their own business. Nurse practitioners can make that kind of money in hospitals because they can specialize in extremely high income earning specialties that pay the same income as doctors like a Nurse Anesthetist. I’ve was a Geriatric travel nurse for 19 years before retiring and going back to school to be a Certified Dental Hygienist. I enjoy the field of dentistry better than nursing. The flexibility is really what sold me to switch careers 👍
Did you watch the news when covid was at its peak? Nurses (registered nurses) were easily bringing home 8k to 13k per week because of the hospitals' inability to care for all of the patients being treated in their facilities. And, besides covid, it is absolutely possible to make over $1k per shift as a registered nurse. I can make more than that as a staff nurse in my hospital. If I were to work a 12-hour shift-which I don't, because I prefer to work 8s-I would bring home $1,442. And, Monica, my wife would bring home $1,862 as a per diem registered nurse. So, either you live in a red state or a very rural area, since you are assuming only nurse practitioners can earn a lot of money. In fact, I work with a lot of nurse practitioners who chose to continue working at our hospital as registered nurses because they earn more ($250k+/yr) than they would as practicing NPs.
I know nurses who have done this. They lived in another state and traveled back and forth to work in California because the pay and employee labor laws are more favorable for nurses. All of those nurses have now permanently moved to California because it was too much of a hassle going back and forth. And it stopped making financial sense to them.
You can’t just walk out on your patients. That’s very irresponsible. Too many people doing this job just for money. It’s not ALL about money. Not cool.
You can work PRN as an LNP, RN, NP and many other professions. But if you're specifically referring to how much education you need to work PRN as an RN, then you can graduate with an associate's degree in nursing and work as a PRN nurse.
What’s going on in Haiti? I would love to know if the Haitians community in America has abandoned Haiti because I don’t hear no great outcry or see any big activity from the Haitian community in America in place like Florida, New York and etc. I really don’t and so I am wondering why not. It just troubles me.
@@NursesToRicheshey, I’ve been watching you for years now. I am graduating in December and just got offered $39/hr to work in the OR. I’m hoping to gain my skills and confidence in them before traveling. Do you think OR nurse is a good specialty for travel contracts?
Yes, looking back now, working in a state like California with nurse-to-patient ratios makes all the difference. But I get why it's tough for nurses to go on strike in New York City. Most aren’t paid well enough to save or invest what they’d need to cover unpaid time off, let alone ensure their rent or mortgage is covered during a strike.
Hospitals in NY covered by 1199, NYSNA, or UFT have a 6/8 patient ratio per nurse. I have never heard of 20 - 40 patient ratio. Maybe in a Nursing Home 20/30, not in a hospital. Many nurses in NY did not work throughout the pandemic, which is why NY had a large number of per diem nurses during this period. These nurses were able to sustain themselves throughout that period. Nurses in NY make a decent salary, maybe not a million/year but decent. State Hospitals, which were typically the lowest paying hospitals, now start at 110K per year directly out of school, with no experience. It is a know fact that per diem nurses/float nurses usually get the toughest assignments
@@9uhxhghi800 nurses in NYC are not paid well when you factor in the cost of living. We live in Sacramento where the cost of living is about 30% less than NYC, yet I make $103/hr and Monica (as a per diem nurse) makes $133/hr. There is no way a staff nurse in NYC comes even close to making those rates. I have friends (nurses) with 15+ yrs of experience who work in some of the highest-paying NYC hospitals (NYP, Mount Sinai, HSS, MSK, and Mount Sinai) and they don't even come close to making that much on an hourly basis.
One lesson I've learnt from billionaires is to always put your money to work, and diversifying your investments. I'm planning to invest about $200k of my savings in stocks this year, and I hope I make profits.
You are right. The best approach I feel is to diversify investments- by spreading investments across different asset classes like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown.

THERE FEW CONCENTRATIONS OF NURSING WHICH THEY ARE WILLING TO PAY THIS MUCH. ICUs,OR,NEURO ICU, LABOR AND DELIVERY. TO GET TRAINED IN ICU AND LABOR AND DELIVERY; THEY ARE VERY PREJUDICED WHO THEY TAKE; SO ALSO IN LABOR AND DELIVERY; NEURO ICU, PICU. MOST OF THE AREAS TO MAKE THIS KIND OF MONEY YOU NEED SOME INSIDER TO HELP YOU.
Im sorry im a number guys. And that math dont add up. 120 an hr 180 ot per hr on 60 hrs a week that 8400 a week times 52 weeks dont add up to a milli..
They were paying her $13k/wk (many travel nurses who were smart only signed up with travel companies that paid $10k-$13k/wk when covid was at its peak) and she was also picking up PRN shifts in between her travel contracts.
@bryanhardeway7102 no, you're absolutely right. She thought she made over $1 million which is why I asked her to send me her W2s. She sent me the W2s for the travel jobs. I included those in the video. They show her earning over $600k and she also worked as a PRN nurse between these contracts, but I didn't get the W2s for those jobs in time to include them before the video was published.
Well, Step 1: They go to college. Step 2: They get a degree in nursing. Step 3: They pass the NCLEX. And Step 4: They apply for jobs until they get an offer.
My friend you and her work a lot over time me too I work a lot overtime so don’t forget to vote for Trump Trump have a policy that no taxes on overtime please!!! Vote for trump all my life i work a lot overtime so I want to have a good benefit too
Umm... I work less than 20 hours per week.. That's not a lot of overtime. Also, can you explain how exactly Trump is going to pass this law and how it would improve the economy, when both parties are already terrible at bringing down our deficit? Even taxfoundation.org (a non-biased organization that has criticized both parties) has stated the following: "This latest proposal would increase Trump’s already promised $6.1 trillion in tax cuts to $6.8 trillion and raise the total deficit increase of his entire tax and tariff plan to $2.0 trillion over 10 years. Further exempting all overtime pay from employee-side payroll taxes (6.2 percent for Social Security and 1.45 percent for Medicare) combined with the income tax exemption would reduce tax revenues by $1.1 trillion over 10 years." And I'm all for reducing our taxes but if you don't have a plan for how you are going to implement these strategies or fix our broken economic issues, then why would I vote for a person like that?
I agree with the person who responded to you about learning a skill. I made $12 an hour over 20 years ago while I was in college when I worked as an ER patient registrar. I would suggest going to your local community college to pick up a trade and get licensed or certified in something that interests you. I guarantee you that you can go to school 6 months to a year and a half and obtain a career making well over $20 an hour. There’s plenty of money out here. Don’t delay on getting your share!

PRN Travel ICU Nurse who lives in Florida but works in California. Ok I need the Sonographer version of this because if I can make close to a million dollars in 1 yr, I would do this for now on. Do for 1 yr and take 6 months to a year break to travel and then start back working to make another close to million.

You can work travel as sonographer :) look at travel companies!

Alot of nurses don't realize that nursing is a skillet you can take on am independent route and cash in fr. Great video

@ absolutely. My youngest son is buying his first home this year and has lots of stocks in many popular companies. He’s 27!
it’s hard not to go on spending sprees when you’re making a lot of money.
During pandemic so many made close to millions.
Yes, I know a few nurses. But lovely currently works as a PRN nurse and still earns $300k+/yr.
Yes. Even CNA’s we’re making over $100k during the pandemic at the hospitals.
Yeah but probably working 6 12hr shifts a week..painful@NursesToRiches
They say people who get a lot of money usually almost always lose it.
Learned so much. I heard of nurses flying out to California for PRN shifts but going back home to live in Florida. Does Lovely help with that as well? Or back to live in their home state wherever that maybe.
I believe she does, but you can message her on Instagram to find out.
Yea that is right. During the pandemic, nurses could get that rate, but i don’t think that rate still here anymore
Congratulations ❤
RTs made $12,500 a week during the pandemic; it was nice.

@KBWFfreedomthrurealestate hi can you tell me some information about how to investment
What about starting a family? Drawbacks of travel nursing is impacts to starting or maintaining a steady family if you have kids. Making a lot of money at what cost?
That may be important to some people but in 2023 47% of adults under the age of 50 didn't have children.
Beautiful personality! The work ethic & hustle is amazing! But even after taxes making a milly how you got in debt? I would have like to hear more about that
You and Monica don’t look like yall have a college age kid lol I thought you guys was like 25 😂
Well, we'll look our age when our son is 18 because he's 15 years younger than our daughter, lol.
The travel nurses I know of have RVs and live really cheaply but get generous housing allowance.
I got my ASN BSN and MSNFNP
I figured. So much for these laws they keep claiming are actually making things better in the state...

I’m blessed !! We are same Jason & your wife is killin it . I’m working on a business myself , STUDYING the whole TAXES stuff coz my bookkeeper quit.
How much monthly ?
Ok, so!
If you as a nurse were to go back in time , what route would you recommend my Gf to take, city college to a state or private ?
City college to state is the cheapest route but will also be the most competitive. Private will be the least competitive but most expensive. Half city and half college would be in the middle of the road. She can also start in a city college for her prerequisites and get a job in a Healthcare company that will pay for her tuition.

Thank you for prompt response and advice. Much appreciated! ❤️
@MACQJR you're welcome!
🇭🇹 #Haiti
That’s about right. Traveling nurses make the most….
So you can live in New York and work in a different state? I just don’t want to leave New York …
Not cool.
So what did she do?
Hey do you know how much study or years is required to become prn coz I’m interested

@@Abmarp means degree of bsn

Yes so did nurse Lois made her money and doing her own business love yr channel horrible in all the Bx hospitals and nothing has changed
😮😮😮😮😮😮 20-40 pt load, I’m walking out the door, that’s nursing care suicide!!!

When you work with many nurses, you can quickly see why certain departments are very choosy who they will work with.
Some jobs are too much. One needs stability (instead if traveling so frequently). Also, the things you are required to do in nursing. No thanks.

Umm... I work less than 20 hours per week.. That's not a lot of overtime. Also, can you explain how exactly Trump is going to pass this law and how it would improve the economy, when both parties are already terrible at bringing down our deficit?
Even taxfoundation.org (a non-biased organization that has criticized both parties) has stated the following:
"This latest proposal would increase Trump’s already promised $6.1 trillion in tax cuts to $6.8 trillion and raise the total deficit increase of his entire tax and tariff plan to $2.0 trillion over 10 years. Further exempting all overtime pay from employee-side payroll taxes (6.2 percent for Social Security and 1.45 percent for Medicare) combined with the income tax exemption would reduce tax revenues by $1.1 trillion over 10 years."
And I'm all for reducing our taxes but if you don't have a plan for how you are going to implement these strategies or fix our broken economic issues, then why would I vote for a person like that?
Who ever work overtime please!!! Vote for trump
She blew her bag. Sad!! Super sad!!
