Rosemary Butler is very flirtatious with Michael McDonald . ❤ I've really enjoyed seeing this footage again . Saw the No Nukes film when it was initially released .
Me too! What a great book. Went to his high school, and always been interested in all his doings. I remember his Tiki days, and Corny and the Corvettes playing locally.
The all-star jam on Taking It To The Streets was great. The Doobie Brothers, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Bonnie Raitt, Nicolette Larson, and others. Impressive. That is probably one of the Top Ten all-star jams of all time.
I sat in the front row. I was 18. it was the biggest thrill of my life. Carly was GORGEOUS and her and JT together were so adorable. Grahamn Nash was incredible....Nicolette Larson was great too....so many great surprises....Carly was the highlight ! So glad this movie was recorded. So awesome to relive it over and over and over again! Theses were ALL of my favorite singers in their prime. What an amazing ticket!
liked some tunes...memories...i don"t listen to 80's music anymore, every song shows a picture...lol...but love the songs....so I switched...always liked soul music too, Smiling Michaela~~~
Credits missed Nicolette Larson singing backup. Ted Templeman was the top producer of the time, the only one in history to have three top ten albums at the same time, by Doobies, Nicolette and Van Halen.
@@mosesmosestv James Taylor looks completely out of it! John Hall looks anxious at 8.38 as if he knows James is going to miss his cue - John does brilliantly to patch it together - true musicianship!
Joining the Doobies on stage was James Taylor, Carly Simon, Bonnie Raitt, Graham Nash, John Hall, Nicolette Larson, Jackson Browne, Raydio, Chaka Kahn and the talented & BEAUTIFUL Rosemary Butler
Thank you. Though i am from the Netherlands i was glad to be raised with American music, so i recognized the Doobies of course but also James Taylor, Jackson Brown and Graham Nash. The rest was filled with your answer. I remember my dad recorded this.
The Doobies….I swear to god I became a fan of these dudes when I was five. Why? Michael McDonald. Something about his voice, even as a little girl. I loved it. Then I saw them on What’s Happening! Great memories James Taylor just took the mic outta the guy’s hand. They all look a little coke’d on here…
No, actually JT, was meant to sing the lead on the second verse, but was too wasted 😵💫and missed his cue - John jumped in to cover for him. James snuck in a “thank you, John” 8:37 .
@@bachrocktheamericahatersan5799 he left for 6 months to get over the bleeding ulcers that had him running off stage to puke blood into them. He couldn't keep food down. The record company wouldn't wait for his return so they brought in Michael and skunk baxter to help pat write the record. Tom was there and contributed 2 songs for Taking it to the streets record. They had hit songs on it so Michael was in. Tom could have come back permanently but opted to do some solo projects. After the Doobies broke up they reunited in Hawaii for a Vietnam vets aid concert .They released the Cycles record shortly thereafter and a return to their original style

Ted Templeman's book brought me here: page 269.

I'm Reading it right now.
Me too!!
Same
Same here. Ted flipping Mike off.😂
Cornelius Bumpus on sax,keyboard,backup vocals....RIP.
My dad was a sound engineer in the 70s and 80s, and worked with him many times. Apparently he was a super cool cat.
@oliverreno4734 Oh wow....he must of been cool....I read he never took any crap from Donald Fagen and Walter Becker of Steely Dan.
I know Bumpus was officially a member of the Doobies Brothers on their One Step Closer album in 1980 and sang lead on the title track.

Few singers in rock history had that golden vocal tone like Mike McDonald
One of the best bands in the land....

Shawn Killam I was there too I was 19 and I still love the Doobie Brothers and James Taylor it was a real treat
I was 9 and coming from Europe being the son of a former pro musician i was at an early age introduced with American musicians.
Phoebe Snow, "Takin' it to the Street," starting around 10:53, stunning!
This version of “Depending on You” is so much better than what’s on the album. So glad it was shot on film.
Great! Live is very génus With Slide Solo Guitar / Harmony Voices
Most Doobie Brother songs were in my opinion.
Turn on the radio...today's music is just depressing.
Looked for this clip while reading Ted Templeman’s Excellent book! VH and Ted 4ever! \-/-|
Same for me, just now. Great book so far.
Takin it to the streets needs to be the new national anthem
Especially now, in 2020!
And in 2023!
Ted Templeman (Producer) on drums, percussion and BVS with Nicolette!
Left to right is McCracken, Templeton, Knudson? No LaKind?
You Go TIRAN!!!!
Where are they now? We need to take it to the streets now more than ever.
Excellent sound mixing and a video camera team who actually studied the songs. What a study in musical production.
Great, But Where is The Set Show Complet Mix Audio / Vidéo 😛 🔥 ✍ 🎼 😒 🎥
The vocal harmonies were incredible
The great Ted Templeman on drums for What A Fool Believes.
When you realise Michael McDonald was just 27 at this stage, and a master of his art, if makes you wonder about your own choices in life...
Little bit of magic going on there between Michael and Nicolette. Good music. Good people.........
Hehe, it's Ted Templeman apparently making him laugh! Ted talks about that moment in his book.
Love the bass in this
Beautiful Rosemary Butler. Bass player and lead vocalist of Birtha..in my opinion, the best female rock band.
No autotunes here. Gotta love the 70s
liked some tunes...memories...i don"t listen to 80's music anymore, every song shows a picture...lol...but love the songs....so I switched...always liked soul music too, Smiling Michaela~~~
it was such fun times working with KUDZU and AMUSE and oon these concerts, such fun days I am blessed
Viva El Salvador-NO NUKES
Greatest music! It doesn’t get much better than this.
Credits missed Nicolette Larson singing backup. Ted Templeman was the top producer of the time, the only one in history to have three top ten albums at the same time, by Doobies, Nicolette and Van Halen.
Hey Patrick, I think Steve Perry stole your leopard shirt...
Best version of this GREAT song!
James Taylor on Taking It To The Streets
He missed his cue and that save by John
@@mosesmosestv James Taylor looks completely out of it! John Hall looks anxious at 8.38 as if he knows James is going to miss his cue - John does brilliantly to patch it together - true musicianship!

Just stumbled onto this and I agree. Lots of talent on this stage. You're pretty! Peace N Love ❤

Awesome album...
did michael mcdonald know how attractive he was? or did he have no idea
Fine AF!!!!! FINE THEN AND FINE NOW!!!
I'm not sure I do know he was very shy and soft spoken....also very humble but you're right sooo very handsome gorgeous!!!!
Patrick had long hair back in those days.
Still does!
He only cut it off for the 80’s.
1:32 - Where did that high note come from? Nicolette Larson or John McFee's guitar?
Neither. Never heard Nicolette go that high. Good bet it was Chaka!
Phoebe snow was the high voice.sure miss her.great voice
You can see her hit it for a brief second. She is facing McDonald during the song.

Bought their first album in 70 or 71,hooked

What a fool believes - fuckin awesome
Minnie Ripperton, the icing on the cake!
Minnie Riperton was not there. She passed in July 1979.
You're probably referring to the magnificent Phoebe Snow, with the high singing pitch. RIP Phoebe!🕊
They ROCK!!
Miticiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!.............
LIVE!! What a friggin' band!!
So did John.
Great to see Nicolette Larson, sad though.

Yes
Brilliant music in a stupid cause.

@@disco76 thank you!!
Isn't she MMcD's wife?
@@josephrohland5604 no… he’s only been married once. Amy Holland is his wife (since 1984)
@@disco76 My mistake. I thought the woman on stage was Amy Holland.
Is that the "Section"
No not here that's the doobies the section may have been there with Danny kooch
James Taylor seems pretty high
Surprise! Lol
this is the least chill I have ever seen him
OMG ! John with that sexy long hair :)-
Where is Tom Johnston (Doobie Bro) ?
seeburg220 left cos of stomach probs mm took his place, doobies best band ever!!!!!!!
Tom had left TDB and started a solo career. He's back since 1987

good enough for you? ;-)
Top 5 best, mike brought their game up. Tom johnson is good but not like the others
Get real, Mcdonald castrated the Doobies during that period....
Bert van Staveren nah he saved them and ushered their most successful era. Tom is good too. Nothing wrong with variety.
that's a hilarious opinion right there
james taylor looks high af
