    Thanks for posting these very interesting videos of your time on Vic96. I hope in your third part that you show the requirements for keeping up steam. I would love to see how the engineers keep abreast with the coal requirements as it must be difficult keeping up with the engines requirements when running near wide open throttle.

      +Christopher Kessell The trouble is that all the engineers do a little different! One says 5 shovels every five minutes, others stoke on a more ad-hoc basis. It also seems easy to put too much coal on, or to let the pressure slip down by not putting on enough!

      +Shipping TV Thanks for that info! It is amazing to think of having to stoke in this day and age! I'm all for steam engines and coal fired trains but coal fired vessels!! I would certainly not complain if the boiler was converted to oil, but it is certainly interesting to see the effort that goes into raising and maintaining steam with coal!!

    I'm amazed at how silent this vessel is when under way!! One of the benefits of steam which I hadn't thought of!!
