      Where do you get the songs? We do verses but she’s getting bored just memorizing them straight out…

    Thank you for this video ❤ Just finished doing preschool with my youngest one. I’ve been homeschooling for 17 years but the last time I did preschool and kindergarten was 5 years ago so I am so happy to have found you. I have done preschool 4 times already with my four older ones. I did ”loose/gentle” preschool/kindergarten with her and even though we both enjoyed it I often felt like I should have been doing more academically. Thank you for your video. We were part of a nature studies co-op in which we went out and explore our state park and hike once a week with little friends. It was such a favorite part of my 5th grader and my preschooler. I am ready to tackle kindergarten after your video!!!! Best wishes!!!❤

    As longtime Charlotte Mason inspired curriculum publishers, we always enjoy seeing how other families implement the CM method with their own families. Thanks for sharing the CM method!

    Great advice...loved your little signs! I was eager to do a formal preschool curriculum with my child, but I forced myself to wait to purchase anything until Kindergarten. Instead, we played games, enjoyed being outdoors, sang songs, and read a ton of books. She started reading on her own at 3.5 and I was tempted to do even more with her. I am so glad that I chose to wait for formal curriculum.
    For moms that need a little bit of a framework to feel confident teaching their little ones I would recommend a free curriculum called Gentle + Classical Preschool or another inexpensive curriculum called Peaceful Preschool.
    Also, we did Playful Pioneers for Kindergarten this year and we loved it!!

      I agree! I did way too much formal curriculum with my first one. I was just so excited! I've been more laid back as I have more children :) And we are using Playful Pioneers for our unit this next year-- I'm super excited! I made a list of all my favorite resources, my favorite was God's Little Explorers. Wish I would have had the Peaceful Preschool, though! I may use it for my youngest.

    I'm so glad that I found your video. I have looked tons at Charlotte Mason in the past and loved everything that you just said. I have been researching curriculum and just was having hesitation with all of them. I know I was missing something. I have been doing almost everything you just stated but I lost focus on that being a vital part of their education at the time. I am very excited to homeschool and my son is very excited about all things learning. I do believe I was about to just off of the sanity cliff and begin pushing him too hard academically. Seriously I was about to overwhelm this sweet little two year old boy. Thank you for helping remind me the importance of priority learning and not taking away his love of learning.

    My daughter is 1, how do you suggest working with her this early in life?

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh, good question :) Read lots of picture books to her, sing to her, and limit screen time as best you can!! Take a walk every day. Just have her next to you in whatever you are doing, she can play with pots and spoons when you are in the kitchen, and she can play with blocks when you are in the living room. Get down on the floor and play with her, but don’t be afraid to start training her to entertain herself :)

      Your focus should be on teacher to trust and listen to mommy and daddy. Look up busy bags and sensor bins on Pinterest. Those are super fun for that age!

    When I think of preschool I think of arts and crafts and creative projects etc. My mind promptly goes blank. Where can I go to get project ideas?

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! My daughter was ALL about the crafts! In the curriculum we used, it had craft ideas that went along with each Bible story. Go HERE mailchi.mp/1331c978f612/free-download-best-homeschool-preschool-resources-list to get my full list of favorite curriculums that use creative projects!
      I would also recommend the Arts and Crafts book from the Good and the Beautiful :)

    • @sharayahsunshine11
      @sharayahsunshine11 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't know TGTB had a arts and crafts book! I'll check out your link too. Yeah I generally go to our local library where they have crafts and I'm always like who comes up with these amazing ideas? I'm afraid my brain balks at the word craft. Ha!

    • @sharayahsunshine11
      @sharayahsunshine11 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I see this is a brand new Arts and Crafts book they released this month. So cool!

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      HA HA! I think the hardest part of crafts is the mess... I just make sure I allow plenty of time for clean up afterwards. I'm creative, but not super crafty! so I've had to just let go of my idea of "crafts" and let my daughter lead. She's grown so much and has an amazing talent for art now! My 2nd child wasn't/isn't as crafty. So I haven't had to come up with as many for him, lol!

    Is it accredited or will their be problems if they transfer to another school?

    • @JoyfulNoiseLearning
      @JoyfulNoiseLearning  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is Charlotte Mason method accredited? Or preschool? I'm not sure by your question. If you're asking about the preschool things, I wouldn't worry about accreditation! That doesn't come into play until high school into college. Preschool is just preschool :) But if you are wondering about high school accreditation, I know that there is a way to keep track of you own credits as a homeschool mom. I don't personally have experience with that, but there are many resources out there! Check out HSLDA.com :)
