  • Join me for a hike along the largest lake in the Faroe Islands, Lake Leitisvatn, also referred to as Lake Sørvágsvatn. This captivating trek encompasses a journey through Trælanípa mountain and extends until I reach the awe-inspiring Bøsdalafossur waterfall, where the lake converges with the Atlantic Ocean. This lake is also recognized as a lake above the ocean.

    Yes the faroe islands are beautiful. And the temperature is better than at the mediteranian for the moment. 40 - 50 C is too warm

    I like your vid so much.
    I can tell you the story about the airport in Vagar. It was made by the british duryin the second world war. The choose the location because it was extremly hard for the german to attack and thus easy to defend. Be this made it very dangerus for the pilots flying to vagar. Even today you need special training to by allowed to land in vagar air port.

      Thank you for watching! That's fascinating about the Vagar airport's history during WWII. It is amazing how its strategic location influenced its construction and the challenges pilots faced. Appreciate you sharing this info!
      By the way, I captured my flight landing at Vagar Airport in this video: th-cam.com/video/KTCQ4mSQG4Y/w-d-xo.html

    By the way the name of the clif you struggled to reach is called Trælanípan. The name for a slave in faroes is a Trælur. When the slaves no longer where usefull they marched them up to the clif and...well you can guess....different times

    • @WandererBell
      @WandererBell  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing that information! Trælanípan's history is indeed intense, reflecting a different era with its own challenging stories. Appreciate you shedding light on its name and the historical context.

    People go to greenland by cruise!

    • @WandererBell
      @WandererBell  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cruises to Greenland often provide a brief glimpse, but they don’t offer the full experience of interacting with locals and truly immersing oneself in Greenland’s rich culture. Spending more time on land allows for a deeper connection with the community and a better understanding of what Greenland has to offer beyond the ports. For this reason, I don’t consider a cruise trip a true visit to Greenland. You will have to fly there and stay there in a hotel or airbnb to get the true experience.
