To be fair, it seems it all happened extremely fast. Jolyne didn't notice ANY of all the stuff that was happening in that instant lmao- she noticed Manhattan Transfer for the first time after everything happened and only saw a glimpse of White Snake's hand as it slipped away.
I think one big problem with Jotaro is his time stop getting nerfed in every part. If I had that power I would practice it everyday to make it active for longer, rather than forgetting how to do it lol
There's also the fact that constant use of Time Stopping takes a toll on Jotaro's heart, Dio was able to bypass this problem because he was a vampire, even if he was nerfed by Jonathan spirit. Dio was able to stop time for 5 seconds, if he was at his peak, Dio could've stopped time for much longer than that.

As a Jojo fan, i will say, one of Arakis biggest weaknesses, that only get worse when animated, is the vegueness of what's happening. This scene is a perfect example. It makes sense that if Jotaro is devoting his movement to protect Jolyne, that he would be open for attacks, but misplaced dialogue and wrong posing, makes it seem as if Jotaro is standing there like a doofus for half an hour letting himself get defeated.
I think it's less about vagueness and more about how time works in an animated format and a manga format. Scenes have to drag out if you have a bunch of dialogue in an anime, but in a manga: just make the speech bubble really big, who cares anyway since it's just 1 panel.

In the version he is actually working on, the problem really isn't there as there is no actual certified flow of time, and every author can manipulate said time frame however they please. Araki may have panels "last" millisecond somewhere and hours in elsewhere, and another author can do the same It's one of the inherent advantages of the manga format

Fun fact: Jotaro processing the whole situation, finding out that there are 2 enemies, realizing that their target was him the whole time, managing to get to Jolyne in time to throw fists with the bullets, AND save his daughter. It all happened within these 5 seconds of stopped time, Jotaro has a really fast brain.
Not really, the time stop ability is more like 5 seconds worth of movement, because dio had enough time to contemplate his life decisions and still kick the shit out of jotaro
From what I understand, when one isn't moving during time stop it's considered a free action, and doesn't contribute to time running out. This is why Dio was able to blabber on for so long in Part 3.

I hate that people also think his time stop has to be the solution to everything, his part was interesting because he couldn't just stop time and I see comments from so many people malding because "why Jotaro no stop time and punch?", That's just too easy I'm glad he got nerfed and araki definitely wouldn't want to just make him stop time and the battle is basically over every time, that's just too op like you said

The Stardust crusaders would obliterate all of them.

I think Jolyn is smart enough that she could probably counter the gun shots herself. So Jotaro could focus on white snake. Or Jotaro could at least do one punch white snake, then go save his daughter. So when time moves again, white snake would be pushed away like the pedestrians in Egypt. Dio only pushed them a little.
Jolyne didnt notice the stand so she couldnt prepare herself to block the bullets. It was only after jotaro pushed her away and she looked up that she then mentions the stand
I don’t think Jolyne noticed the stand so she didn’t know the bullets were coming. Time also resumed as Jotaro was rushing towards Jolyne so he could not have been able to punch White Snake in time
this is literally what i said on a video showing whitesnake taking jotaros stand. Im not saying you stole, I'm saying we thought of the exact same thing, like him punching whitesnake and then protecting jolyen.
The problem is that people don't relies that its hard to fit monolog in these type of scenes in the manga it was perfectly done because you cant really tell how much time has passed just by looking at a picture
JoJo was adapted from its manga form: where a character can speak entire sentences in seconds without it feeling off to the reader. When adapting it obviously it becomes an issue as characters have to say all their dialogue before events can progress leading to a lot of things taking much longer than they are narratively intended to, its why we get stuff like this and DIO and Jonathon falling for like a solid minute in Part 1 and basically every time we see the perspective of a Timestop User. People forget that Jotaro's 30 second monologue in this scene literally takes place in under 5 seconds, the same thing goes for him getting jumped by White Snake, it took much longer from an audience perspective because when the manga was being made White Snakes speech would've been perceived by readers and just a couple of seconds.

It is ok to me: Part 3 jotaro trained his stand, because he had to use it on a daily basis, being constantly challenged by dio s minions. That is why he could damage za warudo w a single punch (Dio just trained his time stop). We know that the more you use the stand the stronger u are (kira implied that in part 4). After Dio's death, jotaro didn't have a lot of challenges, so he became less powerful. In the video he had to face two stands while protecting Jolyne. The last time he was in a similar situation he was at a disadvantage (jotaro vs polnareff and anubis). that being said, he could have used the time stop more efficiently, but this fight is different from the fight vs kira or dio, because jotaro was not prepared SPOILER HOWEVER the thing that leaves me confused is that Jotaro had trouble w johngalli a. with his "dangerous" gun (jotaro could catch bullets even before his trip to Egypt).
What i don't understand is why instead of dragging Jolyne away, he tackle her making himself in the enemy attack forcing to use SP to block bullets and thus be attack by WS. He knows he's the target and he even see WS right there
Kinda hard to move something far Away from you in 2 seconds, doesn't matter if you have a stand. Your daughter is way more important than the enemy's attack, that's probably what Jotaro tought.

Yeah, but Whitesnake was using Johngalli A's bullets to distract Jotaro by having him deflect them so he could make his way over and take the Disc. If Jotaro, within frozen time, dragged Jolyne away and repositioned, Jolyne and Jotaro could have defended themselves from both the bullets and Whitesnake.
What I find most annoying was Jotaro was shown to have extremely precise eyesight thanks to Star Platinum, to the point he could see a fly in a blurry photograph and count cards that have been shuffled by a professional. Yet, he couldn’t see White Snake sneaking up on Jolyne, Pucci racing around at the speed of light and that Pucci had thrown knives at Jolyne. Stone Ocean becomes sillier the more you look back on Stardust Crusaders and see all of Jotaro’s feats that he doesn’t use here.
moving at the speed of light means you are basically invisible, counting cards and catching details in a blurry photo is very different from seeing something literally not detectable by the human eye goofy ahh jotaro simp
We don't know the cooldown of the time stop abilities, so he might still need time before doing it again. But i do agree with everyone that there are better way of handling this situation.
Its not just about the cool down, his time stop lasts for such a short amount of time its ridiculous, like for some reason he stopped training it even tho its so useful in day to day life 😂

He almost died to a rat in part 4 because he was acting as bait to lure it out, not actually going for it. He almost died to bullets in part 6 because he was nearly comatose after Whitesnake’s attack, let’s not forget he didn’t get hit by any of those bullets before that point. Jotaro's been out of practice. I think it's pretty good, considering he's only slightly weaker than DIU jotaro. Time stop is something that requires practice because it's like a muscle. Dio explains this, and it's why Jotaro didn't even know he could stop time for the longest time, and only realized it when he realized he's been minorly using it (like when star platinum catches the bullet). This is also still very fast he is able to completely understand who his targets are and what they are attacking (there is no way they could've realized their true intentions in that amount of time, jotaro is smart but there isn't any evidence to say otherwise.
Nah time stop max for a human is 5 seconds. In part 4 his lack of training makes it drop to 2 seconds but Araki confirmed that in part 6 it’s back to 5, which is why he still has some time later despite MiH speeding it up
In the end fight despite Jotaros deterioration from not having his memory and doing nothing its back up to 5 because Pucci could do something about it like mess with Jolyne

From a narrative standpoint I think jotaro being weaker as the series progress makes sense. I don't know that jotaro ever wanted to be a stand user; circumstances kind of necessitated that he become one of the strongest stand users in stardust crusaders. In part 4 he's clearly not been using his stand as much because he hasn't had the need to. The same goes for part 6, he's been focused on other things, like his career.
But from a normal stand point this makes no sense. Jotaro shouldn’t be this weak, even back in part 4 he shouldn’t’ have been that weak, in terms of both power and time stop. Logically jotaro *should* have gotten stronger, there’s no reason he would let himself get weaker like this against the ever growing amount of Stand users with progressively more powerful and complex abilities considering that it is in his character to want to protect his love ones, jotaro would’ve trained his ass off to maintain or even surpass his peak in part 3, yes it would make jojo boring but it still didn’t make sense, if The World was growing then why couldn’t Star platinum, they are literally the same stands, jotaro peak shouldn’t have been in stardust crusaders it should’ve been stone ocean. In that jotaro should‘be done this: 1. Use star finger to hit white snake’s eyes in stop time 2. Use Star platinum to pull Jolyne towards him as Star platinum is much fast than he is 3. Time resumes and white snake is stunned, Jolyne is safe. He himself is safe and has enough time to deal with his surroundings

In part 4 he was accidentally dragged into the whole Situation with Kira (most of the stuff was done by Josuke and his palls) and in Part 5 he only cared about Giorno because he thought he could turn into Dio 2.0. Jotaro was living a rather normal life as a Marine Biologist and most likely didn't have to deal with any stand users himself for 10 years until Part 4 happend and then another 12 years until part 6 happens. Also its safe to assume that Star Platinum got weaker after Dio got defeated since Jotaro never got his stand the "proper" way by getting hit with an Arrow. His powers came from the connection to Dio.

Jotaro did use his stand quite a bit especially in parts 4 and 5. In 4 he went to Morioh to find the arrow and sent Polnareff to Italy for the same goal. In part 5 its most likely he was on a whole adventure in his own to find other stand arrows as well so I really don't get how he can become rusty in any way, not to mention that even if he didn't do all that he would still had all the time in the world to study and evolve his stand to even greater heights.
Imagine if Jotaro decided to just punch against walls for movement within timestop and then he uses that momentum to just kill everyone there with Star Platinums fists while he's flying all over the place

My understanding was that they forced him to use time stop in a situation to protect his daughter. They understanding that there is a wait time between stops. There was always a limit it's just hard understanding in stressful conditions. It took 3 deaths and 3 near death injuries just to figure out dio ability and to barely defeat him. Different story when you already understand the ability. Something Pucci got from Dio being close friends

I think many people didn't notice that Jotaro is nerfed not by plot convenience, but the nerfs are all planned by Pucci from the start that they put Jolyne into jail and then the entire dream sequence
Pucci has prepared tactics and planned for literally years specially on how to overwhelm and make it so Jotaro can’t use time stop properly, he never had a chance to begin with. The real threats to Pucci are the things he didn’t plan for, Jolyne becoming a powerful stand user and her influence aswell as Weather report.

I think this scene just does a terrible job at showing what is going on at once. It doesn't make sense for Whitesnake to outspeed Star Platinum's reaction speed, so Star Platinum logically has to still be occupied with the bullets while Jotaro himself is attacked. As for Time-Stop, it's probable that it can't be used back to back due to either ability limitation itself or strain on the body.
@@alextempletYT it was stated in Part 3 itself that DIO being a vampire had infinite stamina thus everytime he stops time its duration increases. If not killed he wouldve gotten to a point where he could stop time indefinitely.
Yes! But.... a friend of mine noted that talking is not only a free action, but actually forces people to stop what they're doing or to freeze in it in perpetuity. Talking is a super power in Jojo's.
I think people need to realise that 1. Jotaro's getting older, he does get weaker. Yet this is still something that it's good that exists and that Araki includes, like with Joseph 2. The whole thing with Whitesnake talking after he pushed Jolyne is more of a artistic thing, to set up the atmosphere and portray what he was thinking. In real time it's probably something like he pushes Jolyne and gets his disc stolen right away. It's like with Dio and his timestop talking. He does talk for a good amount of time, but everyone knows all this really happened in a matter of few seconds. It was also done to show what he was thinking etc.

The trick is Araki makes virtually every Stand overpowered at one option (excluding the SC Stands like Heirophant or Silver Chariot, whose abilities are more physical), and therefore there is rarely an actual escalation or deescalation because you're always dealing with utter B.S., just some of that B.S. is more specifically geared towards your scenario. Plus there's a lot of big brain play room afforded to the two Josukes and Giorno, due to the amount of options you can pull with their one hyperfocused ability.
Araki never said stands get weaker with age. In fact he showed they don’t, Polnareff was in a wheelchair and kind of sickly in part 5 and he noted his stand was exactly as strong as it ever was
People forget how Pucci already takes out the disc and then speaks whatever he wants to so that to be safe. Its not like jotaro didnt want to do that its just he couldnt cuz his stand and memory disc were already taken
Imagine if dio’s stand ability was just being able to move someone in the opposite direction that they went, like polnareff moving up the stairs but dio made him move down instead. but the person stayed in the same position they were in when they were moved by his stand like with polnareff; and the senator trying to escape the car then appearing back inside it with the same velocity and in the same position he was in when he had jumped out of the car door.

Jotaro is just getting old thats it. He is now more than 40 compared to being 17 in part 3. Thats a huge leap and the fact how much he has probably no free time of all the stand shady work all over the world, it takes a toll on this man. Joseph even wasnt as energetic in part 3 and then part 4 he completely went senile. Stands dont give them strength, rather the stands are the manifestations of THEIR strength. If they get old, so does the stand.

Joseph didn't got senile. I watched part 4 a few times now and not even once i thought that he is senile. You Can see his reaction to a baby stand when he got scared and he talks normally to Jotaro while being on boat and not like very old man because he pretending and baby having fun of everyone or something or maybe he wanted Josuke to appreaciate him more now that he is old. Also hamon have his part in this too i think
People are underestimating just how prepared Pucci was against jotaro and jolyne. Jotaro was caught off guard and had to make a split second decision about saving his daughter. Jotaro was never nerfed in part 6 he was always just outplayed, just like how in part 4 he was basically a shield for josuke during the rat fight.

@@mlggodzilla1567 you're right. The whole point of this scene is that Jotaro can't do two things at once. He can't block the bullets coming at him and beat down White Snake at the same time. He could've done either one individually, but not at the same time.
I think the worst part is that everyone here seems to forget that this was literally planned from the beginning regardless of what you think of Jotaro or what you think of the story. White Snake himself said he was waiting for this single moment when he had to take the discs from jotaro. If that wasn't the most timed and perfectly thought out plan then I don't know what it is. Cuz if that's what it was then there was no way Jotaro was getting away from it

I think this is fine, scenes in Jojo are always writen to make more narrative sense than real sense, it's a good narrative moment for jotaro to get ambushed by a second enemy he didn't expect while sacrificing himself to save jolyne, and that was the goal of the scene.

the fact that everyone forgets / doesn't know about is that whitesnake has an A in speed (if you look at his stand stats it says D but it's for the acid, confirmed by araki) which means that when jotaro was off guard for a second, he wasn't able to ts or punch fast enough to counter ws.
Also star platinum was deflecting the bullets, we wouldn’t be able to attack the bullets and white snake at the same time. Just like how he couldn’t counter all of dio’s knives.

Well it depends on how you look at it jotaro didn’t know the other thing is pale snake will take an ability regardless of how hard you try to fight it unless you attempt unique hamon or is meters away from it’s not something that is very objective..

Thing is he became a marine biologist, and if he trained his time stop it would of helped so much with analysing marine life . So its not just a fighting sense time stops incrediblely helpful in day to day life as well
Jotaro can't stop time like every 3 seconds lmao, he has a cooldown. Stopping time at the right moment was literally a major plot point in the final fight.
People think that in the stopped time, the users can freely think and speak for a long time as long as they're not moving so as to not drain the time stop, aren't those thinking and speaking for minutes on end just a manga/anime thing? Just like how characters would contemplate their options right after encountering a foe and immediately take action without the enemy waiting for minutes or how characters would bleed literally gallons but not dying? Just how it works, I think.
remember, the only reasons any characters wins or loses is because that creator willed it within their story. As Stan Lee once said: "The person that would win in a fight is the person the script writer wants to win."
Well, for those who don't know, special abilities like The World or King Crimson HAVE a cooldown time. If these could be used instantly, DIO would won over the Crusaders and Diavolo would eliminate the gang.
@@tigxydyfthihh Fr. I 100% do not believe KC has a cooldown on Epitaph or Time Erase. He could spam Epitaph but he'd have to focus on where it is being projected (Usually in his bangs, which could obscure his vision too.) and Time Erase isn't gonna be that useful without knowing what the future will be (Without using epitaph to read future movements to gauge his chances it basically becomes a glorified slow-down effect where he cannot do anything. Enemies would basically just be fighting a teleporting foe.)

to answer people who unironically believe this (funny joke tho) -time doesnt move when people are talking in jojo. dio monologued in stopped time without wasting it, josuke talked before healing hayato after he exploded and still made it in time, etc. think of talking as a think characters get to do for free, like dnd. pucci talking didnt slow down his attack -neither jotaro or dio can stop time back-to-back, theres a cooldown. in part 3, joseph points out that if dio could spam timestop, he wouldve killed them immediately -jotaro's timestop plot armor wasnt "nerfed" after part 3. jotaro only stopped time once in part 3, as a trump card. in part 4, his timestop gets outplayed multiple times (ratt, sheer heart attack), and in part 5, the same thing happens. the only reason jotaros timestop looked so good in part 3 was because he only used it once

that's not how it works. Time passing is counted in actions in Jojo, he could stop time just barely enough to perform the action of stopping bullets, not enough time to hit Whitesnake.
It really is crazy to think that this whole situation would probably be only a scene or two of Jotaro rescuing Polnareff in part 3, that nerf really took him out of competition

For people who say “Jotaro could’ve won!” No. Jotaro had a quick decision where he had no time to think, save his daughter from the bullets and take the shots himself or let his daughter take the shots, and he chose to save her, so in this moment, his guard was down, and after exhausting Star platinums strength to deflect the bullets, whitesnake gets his disc while he’s vulnerable leaving him no time to react, and whitesnakes dialogue is for dramatic effect, in the moment jotaro probably didn’t have any actual time to react, and even if he could, he would only be able to break whitesnakes nose, and even if he did do that, whitesnake would’ve taken his disc before he could manage to hit a blow.
Not to menion, im pretty certain its revelaed that Using the timestop takes a physical toll on Jotaro’s body as it was meant for an immortal body, its also why he doesnt use it unless he absolutely has to and thats why his time is shortened as he doesnt train it
Your analysis would hold more weight if every single Jojo character wasn't repeatedly shown coming up with and executing extremely complex plans in seconds. The idea that the character, who not only has been shown to make snap decisions multiple times but can also actually freeze time to give themselves more time to think, couldn't come up with a better plan than just tanking the hit is laughably inconsistent.

I think one big problem with Jotaro is his time stop getting nerfed in every part. If I had that power I would practice it everyday to make it active for longer, rather than forgetting how to do it lol
There's also the fact that constant use of Time Stopping takes a toll on Jotaro's heart, Dio was able to bypass this problem because he was a vampire, even if he was nerfed by Jonathan spirit.
Dio was able to stop time for 5 seconds, if he was at his peak, Dio could've stopped time for much longer than that.

As a Jojo fan, i will say, one of Arakis biggest weaknesses, that only get worse when animated, is the vegueness of what's happening. This scene is a perfect example. It makes sense that if Jotaro is devoting his movement to protect Jolyne, that he would be open for attacks, but misplaced dialogue and wrong posing, makes it seem as if Jotaro is standing there like a doofus for half an hour letting himself get defeated.
I think it's less about vagueness and more about how time works in an animated format and a manga format. Scenes have to drag out if you have a bunch of dialogue in an anime, but in a manga: just make the speech bubble really big, who cares anyway since it's just 1 panel.

JoJo was adapted from its manga form: where a character can speak entire sentences in seconds without it feeling off to the reader. When adapting it obviously it becomes an issue as characters have to say all their dialogue before events can progress leading to a lot of things taking much longer than they are narratively intended to, its why we get stuff like this and DIO and Jonathon falling for like a solid minute in Part 1 and basically every time we see the perspective of a Timestop User.
People forget that Jotaro's 30 second monologue in this scene literally takes place in under 5 seconds, the same thing goes for him getting jumped by White Snake, it took much longer from an audience perspective because when the manga was being made White Snakes speech would've been perceived by readers and just a couple of seconds.

Part 3 jotaro trained his stand, because he had to use it on a daily basis, being constantly challenged by dio s minions. That is why he could damage za warudo w a single punch (Dio just trained his time stop). We know that the more you use the stand the stronger u are (kira implied that in part 4). After Dio's death, jotaro didn't have a lot of challenges, so he became less powerful. In the video he had to face two stands while protecting Jolyne. The last time he was in a similar situation he was at a disadvantage (jotaro vs polnareff and anubis). that being said, he could have used the time stop more efficiently, but this fight is different from the fight vs kira or dio, because jotaro was not prepared

If Jotaro, within frozen time, dragged Jolyne away and repositioned, Jolyne and Jotaro could have defended themselves from both the bullets and Whitesnake.

What I find most annoying was Jotaro was shown to have extremely precise eyesight thanks to Star Platinum, to the point he could see a fly in a blurry photograph and count cards that have been shuffled by a professional. Yet, he couldn’t see White Snake sneaking up on Jolyne, Pucci racing around at the speed of light and that Pucci had thrown knives at Jolyne. Stone Ocean becomes sillier the more you look back on Stardust Crusaders and see all of Jotaro’s feats that he doesn’t use here.

Jotaro's been out of practice. I think it's pretty good, considering he's only slightly weaker than DIU jotaro. Time stop is something that requires practice because it's like a muscle. Dio explains this, and it's why Jotaro didn't even know he could stop time for the longest time, and only realized it when he realized he's been minorly using it (like when star platinum catches the bullet). This is also still very fast he is able to completely understand who his targets are and what they are attacking (there is no way they could've realized their true intentions in that amount of time, jotaro is smart but there isn't any evidence to say otherwise.
Nah time stop max for a human is 5 seconds. In part 4 his lack of training makes it drop to 2 seconds but Araki confirmed that in part 6 it’s back to 5, which is why he still has some time later despite MiH speeding it up

From a narrative standpoint I think jotaro being weaker as the series progress makes sense. I don't know that jotaro ever wanted to be a stand user; circumstances kind of necessitated that he become one of the strongest stand users in stardust crusaders. In part 4 he's clearly not been using his stand as much because he hasn't had the need to. The same goes for part 6, he's been focused on other things, like his career.
But from a normal stand point this makes no sense. Jotaro shouldn’t be this weak, even back in part 4 he shouldn’t’ have been that weak, in terms of both power and time stop. Logically jotaro *should* have gotten stronger, there’s no reason he would let himself get weaker like this against the ever growing amount of Stand users with progressively more powerful and complex abilities considering that it is in his character to want to protect his love ones, jotaro would’ve trained his ass off to maintain or even surpass his peak in part 3, yes it would make jojo boring but it still didn’t make sense, if The World was growing then why couldn’t Star platinum, they are literally the same stands, jotaro peak shouldn’t have been in stardust crusaders it should’ve been stone ocean. In that jotaro should‘be done this:
1. Use star finger to hit white snake’s eyes in stop time
2. Use Star platinum to pull Jolyne towards him as Star platinum is much fast than he is
3. Time resumes and white snake is stunned, Jolyne is safe. He himself is safe and has enough time to deal with his surroundings

In part 4 he was accidentally dragged into the whole Situation with Kira (most of the stuff was done by Josuke and his palls) and in Part 5 he only cared about Giorno because he thought he could turn into Dio 2.0. Jotaro was living a rather normal life as a Marine Biologist and most likely didn't have to deal with any stand users himself for 10 years until Part 4 happend and then another 12 years until part 6 happens. Also its safe to assume that Star Platinum got weaker after Dio got defeated since Jotaro never got his stand the "proper" way by getting hit with an Arrow. His powers came from the connection to Dio.

Jotaro did use his stand quite a bit especially in parts 4 and 5.
In 4 he went to Morioh to find the arrow and sent Polnareff to Italy for the same goal. In part 5 its most likely he was on a whole adventure in his own to find other stand arrows as well so I really don't get how he can become rusty in any way, not to mention that even if he didn't do all that he would still had all the time in the world to study and evolve his stand to even greater heights.

My understanding was that they forced him to use time stop in a situation to protect his daughter. They understanding that there is a wait time between stops. There was always a limit it's just hard understanding in stressful conditions. It took 3 deaths and 3 near death injuries just to figure out dio ability and to barely defeat him. Different story when you already understand the ability. Something Pucci got from Dio being close friends

Pucci has prepared tactics and planned for literally years specially on how to overwhelm and make it so Jotaro can’t use time stop properly, he never had a chance to begin with. The real threats to Pucci are the things he didn’t plan for, Jolyne becoming a powerful stand user and her influence aswell as Weather report.

I think this scene just does a terrible job at showing what is going on at once. It doesn't make sense for Whitesnake to outspeed Star Platinum's reaction speed, so Star Platinum logically has to still be occupied with the bullets while Jotaro himself is attacked. As for Time-Stop, it's probable that it can't be used back to back due to either ability limitation itself or strain on the body.
Yeah time stop is limited by a "cooling" mechanic. After having used it you have to wait about 2 seconds before being able to stop time again.

1. Jotaro's getting older, he does get weaker. Yet this is still something that it's good that exists and that Araki includes, like with Joseph
2. The whole thing with Whitesnake talking after he pushed Jolyne is more of a artistic thing, to set up the atmosphere and portray what he was thinking. In real time it's probably something like he pushes Jolyne and gets his disc stolen right away. It's like with Dio and his timestop talking. He does talk for a good amount of time, but everyone knows all this really happened in a matter of few seconds. It was also done to show what he was thinking etc.
Overpowered characters are the number one selling point of Shonen manga, and for that I’m so thankful that Araki switched over to Shueisha.

The trick is Araki makes virtually every Stand overpowered at one option (excluding the SC Stands like Heirophant or Silver Chariot, whose abilities are more physical), and therefore there is rarely an actual escalation or deescalation because you're always dealing with utter B.S., just some of that B.S. is more specifically geared towards your scenario. Plus there's a lot of big brain play room afforded to the two Josukes and Giorno, due to the amount of options you can pull with their one hyperfocused ability.
Araki never said stands get weaker with age. In fact he showed they don’t, Polnareff was in a wheelchair and kind of sickly in part 5 and he noted his stand was exactly as strong as it ever was

Jotaro is just getting old thats it. He is now more than 40 compared to being 17 in part 3. Thats a huge leap and the fact how much he has probably no free time of all the stand shady work all over the world, it takes a toll on this man. Joseph even wasnt as energetic in part 3 and then part 4 he completely went senile. Stands dont give them strength, rather the stands are the manifestations of THEIR strength. If they get old, so does the stand.

People are underestimating just how prepared Pucci was against jotaro and jolyne. Jotaro was caught off guard and had to make a split second decision about saving his daughter. Jotaro was never nerfed in part 6 he was always just outplayed, just like how in part 4 he was basically a shield for josuke during the rat fight.

I think this is fine, scenes in Jojo are always writen to make more narrative sense than real sense, it's a good narrative moment for jotaro to get ambushed by a second enemy he didn't expect while sacrificing himself to save jolyne, and that was the goal of the scene.

the fact that everyone forgets / doesn't know about is that whitesnake has an A in speed (if you look at his stand stats it says D but it's for the acid, confirmed by araki) which means that when jotaro was off guard for a second, he wasn't able to ts or punch fast enough to counter ws.
Also star platinum was deflecting the bullets, we wouldn’t be able to attack the bullets and white snake at the same time. Just like how he couldn’t counter all of dio’s knives.

People think that in the stopped time, the users can freely think and speak for a long time as long as they're not moving so as to not drain the time stop, aren't those thinking and speaking for minutes on end just a manga/anime thing? Just like how characters would contemplate their options right after encountering a foe and immediately take action without the enemy waiting for minutes or how characters would bleed literally gallons but not dying? Just how it works, I think.
remember, the only reasons any characters wins or loses is because that creator willed it within their story.

He could spam Epitaph but he'd have to focus on where it is being projected (Usually in his bangs, which could obscure his vision too.) and Time Erase isn't gonna be that useful without knowing what the future will be (Without using epitaph to read future movements to gauge his chances it basically becomes a glorified slow-down effect where he cannot do anything. Enemies would basically just be fighting a teleporting foe.)

that's not how it works. Time passing is counted in actions in Jojo, he could stop time just barely enough to perform the action of stopping bullets, not enough time to hit Whitesnake.
It really is crazy to think that this whole situation would probably be only a scene or two of Jotaro rescuing Polnareff in part 3, that nerf really took him out of competition

Jotaro had a quick decision where he had no time to think, save his daughter from the bullets and take the shots himself or let his daughter take the shots, and he chose to save her, so in this moment, his guard was down, and after exhausting Star platinums strength to deflect the bullets, whitesnake gets his disc while he’s vulnerable leaving him no time to react, and whitesnakes dialogue is for dramatic effect, in the moment jotaro probably didn’t have any actual time to react, and even if he could, he would only be able to break whitesnakes nose, and even if he did do that, whitesnake would’ve taken his disc before he could manage to hit a blow.
Not to menion, im pretty certain its revelaed that Using the timestop takes a physical toll on Jotaro’s body as it was meant for an immortal body, its also why he doesnt use it unless he absolutely has to and thats why his time is shortened as he doesnt train it

So if stopping time is hard on jotaro, but moving around in stopped time isnt any more difficult, why doesn’t jotaro just use SP’s insane speed and strength to boost himself towards his enemies and into SP’s range? And I already known it’s for plot purposes, but if we removed the plot what prevents jotaro from going almost full dio levels of time stop power in any fight?
Because he got weaker. Part 3 jotaro was his prime, and its been like 20+ years after that. Also he barely used star plat in that timespan except for part 4.
I don't think this would've happened like this as it was confirmed that Jotaro needs some time before his Star Platinum can do another time stop
