    I have been trying to program synthesizers, but since I often approach things from a rather engineery and structured pattern, everything sounded just boring. But I love funk and I wanted to understand, what makes music sound that way. Your tutorial was so visual and was exactly what I needed to connect all those loose ends. Thank you!

    I'm a bass player, lately I've been asked to play more gigs where the original songs had a synth bass instead of a bass guitar in it. So I'm trying to learn more about it.

    Dorian is such a funky mode, highlighting the 3rd of the scale really makes for a funky groove because that flat 3rd is the distinct note of dorian. Can also help to use the 6th, since its sharp compared to aeolian, so its like, "yep this isnt minor either".

      Thanks! Glad I could help. Well it depends on the synth, but usually vibrato is on the modwheel, so MIDI CC1.
