Thanks for taking my request bro. Glad you enjoyed it. Aesop studied visual arts in university and he creates amazingly artistic videos to accompany his intricate flows. He's one of my favorite underground hip hop artists. I love the new channel. There is so much great underground music under the surface. I'm awaiting your journey on this channel and I'll be suggesting more.
Welcome to the greatest wordsmith in history. It wont take much further looking to figure that out. This one is simplistic toa major degree by his standards.
More of THIS!! Aesop Rock is a journey you need to take, my dude! Aes has been nasty with the pen from jump! His catalog is ridiculous! "Rings" is a nice place to go next. "Gopher Guts", "Pizza Alley", "Jumping Coffin" are a few more. ✌️
Boogie, I’m a school bus driver for an inner city school district after retirement. I was so disappointed in the negative “Gangster Rap” my students were listening to, I started playing 80’s and 90’s rap on the school bus, no killing, no drug dealing, only showing students what an educated lyrical person could do. They ate it up, wanting more and more. The funny thing is they want more non violence rap, to teach and have a positive contribution to society. Aesop, will be a video I share with them. Your channel is on fire. I appreciate the time and effort it takes. How did I miss this gem?
when I was a kid, I had a black n white tv with an antenna. I'd have to hit the top of the tv to stop the picture from rolling and then hit the side to get the sound back on lol
Another common similar set of videos, much older, is Schoolhouse Rock. Not rap, but very catchy tunes you learn from. Great series. From the 1970s-80s.
Boston University, to answer your question. Got a bachelor's in visual arts, even. As for the scratching/beatmaking, he does a lot of his own work. Definitely check out Shrunk and Mystery Fish by him as well.
Aesop Rock is in a league of one when it comes to delivery, vocabulary and to some extent, complexity. Try 'Grace' or 'Shrunk' - from 'Skelethon' & 'The Impossible Kid', respectively - also, relatively straight-forward from a lyrical point of view - at least by his usual standards.
Have you seen that infographic online that actually quantifies how much larger his vocab is than other rappers using a line chart? Aes takes the right side end point and second place is nowhere close to his spot.
Aesop rocks whole catalog is sick.
I agree. I hope I opened up a can of ear worms by suggesting this track. You guys need to throw him a 5 and suggest some more Aesop.

The method isn't free until the mechanism follows.

Just an absolutely epic album closer.
My first Aesop Rock experience was "Jumping Coffins," but he should definitely be studied in schools.

Long live true school hip hop!
Aesop is on some other level completely when it comes to lyricism, I've had songs I've listened to for years and still find new meanings

You said it my man. I use lines and parts of this song with my middle schoolers.
Aes is one of the best to ever put pen to pad and rock a mic.
Aes actually studied visual art in college, his original passion was drawing and painting but he found more success as a rapper.
His song 'Rings' addresses this, great one to check out
Yep have a seat and take notes
The technology was even more mind blowing if you are older.

A bit of advice when reacting to Aesop... have a dictionary and Google ready to go! 😆 Dude packs about 45 high level references per line!
