You definitely have it in your neck of the woods.
      Thanks for watching.

Haha, I was looking at this and thinking "hey, we have those here in Finland too!"
Then I saw the coffee thermos, then the shopping bag, and finally the channel name.

That is funny, we do have chaga where my very none Finnish accent comes from but it is as rare as rocking horse manure.
Here in Enontekiö it is common
      Thanks for watching my friend.

There seems to be a lot more of it around Kuusamo, do you get much around Fiskars?
It's about as common as rocking horse poo where I come from. But I think it seems to be more abundant a little bit further south than here. Saying that I have been finding it quite a lot lately. Either luck or global warming.

@@KuukkeliBushcraft theres quite a bit of it here. And not only in birch trees. Have some trusted places where I collect it..

@OldForestBushcraft I have only ever seen it in birch trees. Actually thinking about it I saw something in England that looked just like chaga growing on something else. I took a photo but will never find that again. What else does it grow on?

Thanks mate, It really is quite incredible how people must have experimented with this kind of thing. Working out that it's good for lighting fires, OK that I can understand but who the hell would think of making tea out of something like that?
So many people must have died experimenting with this kind of thing.

What does it taste like? Because the way you described it, it sounds more like something people drink more for its properties and not for the taste haha

It tastes quite nice with honey. On its own, well it's OK but a bit like drinking dirty water 🤣.
