Periods are the symbol of healthy and normal lady...so why do the people consider it as something impure ? They all forget that , it is the reason of their birth.
I'm too blessed to have a family that's educated.. And a boyfriend who takes care of me like a baby when i have my period. He isn't ashamed to buy pads or tampons for me.
How brave she is ........when I had my first period I literally cried for 2 nights just seeing the blood coming out. That is why God made women so brave 💪

Not disgusting, rather then the husband is uneducated and have no feelings for the other gender. My papa and mummy have a 10 years difference that doesn't mean that they don't care about each other
I can't stop crying maybe because today is my day 1 and I can really relate to her pain, mentally and physically. Why period is still a taboo in the Indian society?. Am I only lovable when I am in a good shape or at least you try to understand that "bloody me", that me I didn't choose, nature made me this way, so that I can create a life inside me. Respect her, give her warmth of your care and love. Whoever she is in your life. Thank you.
I request to all the educated and financially strong women of India. Please come forward and join hands to help those women who are deprived of education, vulnerable to assault, and living undignified life. Your one step can change the lives of many women.
Hamare family m period Ko koi nai maanta.. hamare papa bhai hamare sath hashte h, bethte h aur milke khana v Khate h🥰🥰🥰 thank u God for this lovely family.. I'm so blessed.. plz bless all girls🤗
Not going in kitchen or doing things or not going in temple while a girl is menstruating is way to provide convenience and rest during that time .... a girl need rest and care during this period ... our forefathers made such rules to provide more rest to them .... But ppl took it in a wrong way .. telling the girl that they r untouchable .. they misconcepted the concept of menstruation Its time to make them realise there mistake ..
Not only in rural areas but also in some urban areas, some of these myths are still in practice. Even in my own house. I am tired of explaining my mom that these are all myths but she always used to argue with me and shut me up by saying that you can do whatever you want to do after you leave my house for marriage or for job but for now you have to follow my rules. This is the harsh reality.
This shows exactly why people should take education. And more than that, females need to learn to speak up, stand up for themselves, and know how to protect themselves. Souls of our legendary freedom fighters who gave their lives for rights of women, must be so hurt. And to be honest, it's not just education, it's the mentality that must be changed. Even educated people do not understand the meaning of equality and always look down upon women. As a nation, we have a LOT to improve.
I'd heard of menstruation huts, but this story truly makes it more real for me. It's utterly depressing and seems hopeless. Women around the world are subjected to horrific treatment because of traditions and beliefs like this. Wouldn't it be amazing if they looked at women with compassion and gave them extra special attention during these days, instead of punishment? Having a period is inconvenient, to say the least, and it can be be very painful for many women. They should be allowed to rest comfortably at home, with understanding and compassion. I will keep hoping and praying for this.
This type of costoms r to keep women's down in society forever . thank you , Respected Dr .B.R.Ambedakar for writing such constitution ,which play very crucial roal in women empowerment, development .
In my place, mother in law's keep their daughter in laws like a queen in those 5 days...they give time to do rest during period days also in same house live together.
It's the most horrific days of the month !! We are three sisters at home, during menstruation my mother doesn't allow any one of us to enter kitchen, puja room or my parents room. We stay up at our rooms for 7 days and if there is any upcoming events ,we are not allowed to participate. But after I got married my mother-in-law broke that rule I am allowed to do everything, but due to my mother barring us for any kind of holy event participation I still don't do puja and enter temple it has stuck in my head forever(that I am impure). But I do put tilak and eat prasad, and in future I surely allow my daughter to do everything which I couldnt do it for myself.
Sorry this was in your childhood...being brought up in USA I was unaware these practices. But kudos to your mother in law for make the change and inspiring you to do the same for your daughter.
I'm a Hindu woman.. Since last 1 year I hv decided for myself dat I wud not follow baseless traditions of periods.. So I started doing regular puja everyday... And even water my Tulsi everyday wthout fail.. And till date I'm happy.. Hare Krushna 😊🙏
The biggest joke I heard was if a menstruating woman touched a pickle jar the pickle will go bad !! A lot of educated women also believe in this. !😂😂😂 Degree ko chulhe mein daalo sab.

Movies like Padman are trying to address these issues .. its heartbreaking that in a land where women goddesses are all powerful yet girls are seen as dirty and low
Well, being from the US, and growing up in a progressive environment outside home, I still have conservative parents inside my home. My mom still believes that women are not allowed to go to temples, pujas or even near the little home for God we keep in our house during our periods; apparently because we are unclean and dirty during that time. Well my question is...if the Gods created us as humans, evolved since centuries, then they have made us women the way we are, with periods. To call us, or Gods’ creations unclean or dirty, is an insult not only to us, but to the Gods as well.

And the sad part is even women's don't understand the pain of another women *in this film*
Very true
It's more like aurat hi aurat ki dushman 😭
No she understands but she is forced to leave her alone
Not in just flim in real too they don't understand
She actually does but she can't do anything 😢

A single woman can't change anything. The society has to change. It wont change. It is a world created by men, for men and by men. I have seen this.
Even women participate in this. Encourages this. So what to say about society.
Absolutely
No one understands that
This happens when Mother forget to teach his son how to respect other girls.
Jaya C don't blame the female only plzz it's the duty of dad too as well as the society
