The bookcases originally in this build are special because they already have all of the base game books that come with the game included, that's why there's only 1 swatch. When you delete them and use different ones, there's actually only like 5 books in the library cus EA didn't think to code libraries to always have every book.
Hmm. Yeah you would think libraries would have all the books the game has to offer.
The coding is so weird. I used RoM bookcases in a library build and they only had RoM books in them 🤷🏽♀️
I have a room saved with the "library bookshelf" so whenever I build a library I can hide that one in the basement. Then it will share its inventory with all the other bookshelves and function properly.
@@constantrecoil oh that's so smart. i was renovating a library and got so frustrated that i couldn't clone the library bookshelf.
We have a bar here called the Library and it has library vibes, I was confused when people said they were going to the Library downtown because I was like it's 10PM the library is closed, lol
The bookcases don't have swatches bc they're actually a special debug item that costs 300 instead of the usual ~1300 that the build+buy item does. Even though it's a community lot, I guess EA wanted the lot cost to stay down.
Woowwww such an improvement! Something that I think would be really cool that I’ll do when I download this is adding one of those secret bookcase doors and a ladder to either that dormer room or a basement that includes some of the items needed for the secret agent career so that sims in that career don’t necessarily need those in their house. I know this was a basegame build but for people with Realm Of Magic it could be fun to do a secret spellcaster room in an old library too 😊
Getting hammered and finishing up your research project sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon. HA!
I love this! Would love to see renovations to the Museum in Willow Creek, and also the Villareal family in Windenburg, that house needs help.
Hi Simlicy! Since I know you use the better build/buy mod by twisted mexi, there actually is a setting in that mod that can help you with the deletion bug. There's should also be a check mark called "deletion prevention" or something similar to that. Basically it's really handy when you're cluttering up builds with move objects on, and they won't automatically delete once you try to change the wall paper or the shape of the room. it is a little bit fiddly to use, you should only use it when you want to make changes after cluttering up a room then turn it off until you need it again. But hopefully you find it helpful in case you keep running into the deletion bug

What about turning the ground floor of the Spencer-Kim-Lewis into a pair of granny/grandpa apartments.? Then the main floor on the second floor and the parents and child room on the 3rd?
There is a bar in Wellington, New Zealand, called The Library and yes, they have lots of books you can read while grabbing a drink 😊
This really shows how we were robbed of an amazing base game library, I never use the library that came with the game. This would add so much depth to my sims game thank you so much!!!
This is so true; an area where kids could do their homework would be a good addition as well.

I live near a lot of colleges, there's a spot near one of them that is a coffee shop/lounge with books during the day. Like a library but you don't really check out the books. People go there to study and have coffee and snacks. At night, they serve beer on tap and host open mic. :)
In Leeuwarden (in the Netherlands, Europe) there is a library in an old prison-building, which also has a bar area + tables etc :)

You did a great job on renovating the library. There’s a library I often go to that has a coffee bar in it, it’s very nice.
in argentina we have a very big and famous library called El Ateneo which also has a bar inside. this library used to be a theater originally and it was transformed into a hugr and beautiful library :)
an idea for a community lot could be a farmers market in Henford - on - Bagley ! their could also be a small farm on the lot where they get the supplies to run the farmers market :)
Funny you mention the library bar. I thought it was ridiculous myself but them I remembered in The Vampire Diaries college there’s a library or study area with a whole bar inside! Crazy. If you ask me hehe

In Columbus Ohio there’s a library called Grant Library that has a mini cafe something like that . Love the build as always .
I had the wallpaper glitch as well, not sure what causes it. Changing the wallpaper deletes items that are snapped on to surfaces🤯
I actually want to visit this type of library in real life as a book lover its very nice
In my hometown there actually is a library with a bar :D Well, It is in another room in "library building" not actually in a library with all the books, if you understand what I mean. It does sell some expensive beers and ciders, some wine and whiskey, coffee, tea, bakery products (Its kind of mix of bar and coffee shop). Building is near of area where most seasonal events happen and it is only place to get some beverages without venturing to center city (which is not too far though, it is a small town) and leaving area, probably the reason why they have it there.

Ps. I also have that disappearing object bug in my game, sometimes when I change wallpaper in certain spot for example in upstairs bedroom, my kitchen looses some of decoration on the table. Its very weird, it seems to be only certain spot, if I leave that one spot way it was before, it doesn't happen. So strange. Its not really a big problem to me, I don't build much and since item usually goes to my family inventory I know not to put it back until I have finished my wallpapers.
My town’s library has a cafe on the ground floor and they absolutely do serve beer and wine 😂 you’re not allowed to take the alcohol into the stacks though!

i absolutely love this series, i have a bunch of packs, but not every one so you doing this saves my game!! :-) also i have to comment that i was jus playing in san myshuno and ive tried finding a community lot to replace the torendi penthouse and couldnt find anything and i immediately thought about you and how would you manage that! id love to see you try doing that with base game and city living, i think itd be a cool challange and build!

It wasn’t a library but I’ve been to a bookstore in Asheville that had a wine bar in it. It was awesome.

I was trying to figure out where to move one of my sims who has aged up into an adult. This build made me decide to move her into willow creek. I've realized how much I missed the neighborhood
The library and the museum are the 2 least used buildings I go to in Willow Creek.. I've been thinking about turning them into houses for the rich n eccentrics ..lol.. or into nightclubs because that's the most used building I go to :P
This is such a nice renovation! I hate the default base game community lots so I'll definitely be using this one 😆. I've heard you mention the wallpaper bug deleting objects a few times now, did you know that the better build buy mod has a built in deletion protection feature that stops it from happening? Maybe you could create a Get Together version with the coffee shop inside; maybe for players who have just the expansion pack? It could also be an alternative option for those who have all the packs but like this redesign better?

Singapore's National Library has a bar! The entire third floor is a bar with study rooms.
Idk if this was intentional but at 6:13 when you realize why the computer kept disappearing and the music stopped dead, I was dying lmao. Hopefully they fix that bug soon. Amazing build as usual!
