He was a beast. Great technical skills, and physical presence. The problem was he had to compete against the likes of the rock and stone cold. He didn't have the bigger than life personality needed.

Ken Shamrock was Awesome! He was the "Real Deal." I wanted Shamrock to stay in the WWF much longer than he did. He could of had a Great rivalry with Kurt Angle if he had stayed with the company. Angle made his debut just a month or so after Shamrock left. Imagine Ken Shamrock vs. Kurt Angle in a Ankle Lock Submission Match, that could have been a CLASSIC! Shamrock should have been at least a 2 Time Intercontinental Champion, and YES I agree that he should have been a World Champion in the WWF as well. I hope someday they induct Ken Shamrock in the WWE Hall Of Fame.

He was ahead of his time there was just so many main eventers in that period that made it difficult for him to be a world champ he would have likely excelled in the Ruthless aggression era had he came along later.

If Shamrock stayed around for 2000 he could of had great matches with the likes of Chris Benoit,Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero. I think he would of benifited on Smackdown in 02-03 with the Smackdown 6. I think him and Benoit would of made a good tag team either then or in 2000. The Crippler and the world's dangerous man with Shane McMahon as their manager. He could of been the guy to run over Stone Cold rather than Rikishi, it would of being more believable. I just think he left just at the wrong time unfortunately.

While it was a good video, you didn't really delve into "What went wrong". You could have touched on his unreliability on the road and showing up to shows (Jim Ross mentioned this has a issue with Shamrock), his mic skills holding him back during the Attitude Era where personalities prevailed (DX, Rock,Austin), and heat with people like Triple H talking crap about him to management as to why he wasn't placed higher on the card and why he never returned. As stated by other commenters, had he stayed or returned during the Ruthless Aggression era, he wouldve been a better fit and been pushed more prominently.

Ken Shamrock if only he would've debuted in 2002. I believe he would've held many world titles. Their were too main big characters and too many main eventers. He also couldn't promo which at the time was important if you wanted to become a huge player. He was great in ring but wasn't like Rock, Mankind, Undertaker, Stone Cold and Michaels in terms of character. Imagine him against Lesnar at Wrestlemania 20.

I think Ken Shamrock is one of those BIG what ifs of that era. He's unique because it wasn't like he was primed to be champ and he screwed it up by personal troubles....he just walked away. I wonder how he and Brock would have worked for the title.

He was used wrong. For instance, he's not exactly known as a great promo, so why not maybe give him a good manager? They also overrelied on his UFC experience. He was one-dimensional. He was presented as a guy who used to fight in cages, that's all. It's a shame bc he was a beast at MMA and a very underrated wrestler to me. Also, Vader was really strong. In a match that should look like a shoot, he could hurt 99.7% of men by accident.

Shamrock was over big time in 97/98 especially with his KOTR win. After his heel IC title run in 99, he was wasted and buried. According to JR, Shamrock would miss shows and had poor discipline. And Ken himself said that he missed his family and hated being on the road.

He had true legitimacy before legitimacy was really valued in WWE. He was a bonified fighter and not an entertainer which is why they forced him to do silly gimmicks, to try and break his shell and make him an entertainer. If he had stuck through it and maybe offered ideas as what to do with his character and pushed through he could have won the big gold belt in 01-05 and had rivalries with the likes of Triple H Chris Benoit or even Goldberg. The fact is though I don't believe Shamrock was a big draw. Like I said before, it was before legitimacy was truly valued in WWE.

Shamrock didn’t have the mic skills or the kind of gimmick fans would have gotten behind in the 90’s. Plus he wasn’t very tall. McMahon never pushed smaller guys to the top and they usually ended up stuck in commentary no matter how big they were in their past promotions. Think Taz and Jerry Lawler. Both huge before they signed with McMahon. A couple of matches with McMahon seeing how small they were compared to their opponents was usually the end of their in ring performances for Vince. Shamrock had the actual real rep which is the only thing that kept him in the mid card. He would have gone much further with WCW and would have surely been on top of ECW. Why he chose the WWF in the late 90’s baffles me. Sure they were on top but they were pretty wanky. I mean the peoples elbow? Seriously? That was a move nobody got up from?

I don't think it went wrong really? He was during an era with the biggest talent pool in history and 6-7 all time greats in the main events. He was an upper midcarder, was very over and had flirtations with and some good matches in the main event scene. He had a whole RAW dedicated to him saving Steph, a ppv title match v hbk, a feud with ministry Taker. A fantastic 6 months feud with The Rock and a couple of Raw main events with Austin. He had a good career but he was never going to be THE guy during that era. He dropped down the card during his Steve Blackman feud and lost to many matches although never clean on the way to his departure.
