I remember as a kid my stepfather REFUSED to eat leftovers if he knew that's what they were. My Ma, (the OG Martha Stewart) always found a way to use them without him knowing. Corned beef and potatoes the day after St. Paddy's day became next morning hash. Roasted chicken on the carcass became soup. I remember coming home from school one day and seeing my mom in the kitchen with the leftover mashed potatoes from the night before. She was making shepherd's pie for dinner. I asked her what Dad was eating since he didn't like leftovers. She told me to keep quiet and not say a word. That night, Dad had two huge helpings my Ma's Shepherd's Pie. He was rarely one to compliment but that night, he kept telling her how good it was. I looked at her shocked and she looked at me and smiled. Later, she told me that he'd been eating leftovers for YEARS and didn't have a clue. 😂😂😂😂
Thanks! Great idea!
