    The mistake with paint are because you are laying to thick layer in the first coat. Next time make a “dust coat” in first layer, wait 5-10 min to its sticky, and then give it a solid layer. So you will get rid of the pinholes (air bubbles)

      @EnglishGamer2019 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      One more little detail that I want to point out, the air compressor should have all the water drained if possible because the water gets mixed with the paint and creates those pin holes after drying

      @mr_makko ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Also guys need to make some ventilation inside garage. I'm even not talking about paint booth %)

    • @dancarsofficial
      @dancarsofficial ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Great vid as usual, some great advices in comments too. I would also point out that most of this stuff is caused simply by dust sticking to the paint - in real spray booth there is always a fan that sucks all the air up, so those particles do not land on painted elements. You have to make separate area for this, as much dust free as it can be. Painting in the open especially in reality of garage like Yours always gonna be difficult. Pozdro 👍

    Guys the window did not break becouse of chassis flexing (doors doesn't flex with chassis) but becouse of welding. You welded in the Kevin and windows like to explode like that into pieces becouse of radiation from welding especially exposed to low temperature. Know that from oldschooler. You should simply put a piece of cardboard on windows to protect against radiation. Keep on progress with Kevin. Great job!

    • @griffins750
      @griffins750 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For them thats the nicest car they have. You have to remember you have the E30 thats a beater (like thats literally its nickname "winter beater") You have the Miata thats a nice version of a drift missile meaning it must ride as hard as a rock, it has 0 clearance, it sounds great and looks alright but has been hit, lost its bumpers repainted multiple times, and is nowhere near stock anymore. You have Kevin who is 100% for show now, and the Rolly if they ever would make a video about it lmao but even then that thing is also slammed with 0 suspension. This Sil80 is by far the most comprehensive build they've done and that's because they're trying to make it streetable, none of their other cars are really "streetable" at this point.

    As far as the paint it’s one of three things 🎨
    If you’re getting bubbles in the paint, it’s because the paint is off gassing and is built up to thick to expel the gases. Just need to do lighter coats. When I was watching the video I felt the first coat was really thick. You could use a half the amount of paint and would prob get better results.
    It could be debris from the surrounding area which means you need to separate it from debris getting in the air and landing in the paint.
    If it’s chunks of paint splatting your gun prob just needs to be cleaned before use. The tip was likely dirty.
    It could be one or a combination of multiple. Good on you for putting in the effort to redo it for the s13, it’ll show in the end. And sorry about Kevin! Sometimes bad things happen to good boys like Kevin 🙃 It’s just part of the journey!

    When prepping interior parts always use degreaser even when sanding since you never know how many times people used armerall or interior dressing. Right before painting get some isopropyl alcohol to clean them then turn down material on the spay gun and give them a dust coat. So you know your not getting fisheye in your plastic parts. Continue to dust paint on parts till they are covered then set your material to spray clear normal.

    You're painting it on the floor, every time you pull the trigger its kicking dust up in the air and falling back down into the paint in-between coats. Imo put it on a stand 👍
    I can't tell if its dirt nibs or solvent pop from the video, but it also could be that you didn't let the paint dry long enough in-between coats and got solvent pop which will look like little bubbles in the paint.
