  • This is a documentary on the preservation of the icons of the Stations of the Cross constructed more than half a century ago in the monastery grounds of the Redemptorist Monastery in Ballarat, Australia, dating back to 1891. The documentary dwells on the regional, architectural and historical significance of the building inspired by the French Renaissance.
The Stations of the Cross on the monastery wall, somewhat different from the traditional images, are a remaining feature associated with the monastery.
The monastery is now converted into secular residential apartments. The current residents appreciating the artistic and heritage merit of the stations sought their restoration.
The Stations were designed by David Anthony. Joe McNamara who worked closely with David undertook the project of restoration with the residents committee coordinated by Ian Cochran and Peter Rechner.
There was a dedication ceremony officiated by Rt. Rev. Paul Byrd, bishop of Ballarat when the Stations were handed over by the Redemptorists to the custody of the residents.
