One note about “cheap factory tow hook” is that those are actually engineered to a certain tensile strength. I’ve broken a “brand name” 125$ tow hook. I only use the OEM one now.
A $150 hook is still kinda crazy. Why not just a strap? I'm not looking for bling, nor do i race, but my front bumper combo will make it almost impossible to tow without damaging something.
You not wrong but this is not a proper test. Should be testing the pulling motion as if being towed ( tensile strength) not forces at a 90 degree angle (shear strength) ....credibility points -1

Thanks for the tow hook info, I was actually in the market for a custom setup. If i mention GRM, do I get a discount from 034Motorsport?
Great video - share this to your track friends, people!
I question two things here. 1, you didn't test the other tow hook. 2. you used the jam nut incorrectly.
Excellent video
Thanks!
Great, now I have to go buy a new tow hook. 😢 but thanks for the head’s up!

nice job
Strange my 2012 Mustang doesn’t have an oem front tow hook
But what about tow straps instead of a hook?
A tow strap is also an option but check the rules for the track or sanctioning body you are running in to see what they allow for tow points.
I wonder if this will work on a 370z
TOW HOOKS SHOULD ALL NEON GREEN BY LAW YOU SOMEONE CAN GET HURT
