I feel even better about choosing the Parajet Maverick (Pro) after seeing this. I bought mine over a year ago, when everyone around me (including my instructors) were buying *only* AC Nitro 200s. They looked at me like I was *insane* when I insisted that the Parajet Maverick had all the features I was looking for (except electric start.. I'd still like a model with e-start). When my instructors opened the custom travel case and helped me assemble and break in the Maverick, they seemed very impressed, but I wasn't sure if they were just being 'supportive', or what... Now, in hindsight, I think they were legitimately amazed, and it's clear that Parajet really is at the top of paramotor manufacturers, with great engineering, safety features, comfort, easy of assembly & storage, aesthetics, performance, and quality & durability. This PPG is really a high performance, comfortable flying work of art... It's certainly not the cheapest paramotor, but in this case, *you really get what you pay for* .
The swing arms definitely look a lot more solid in construction and attachment method on this vs the Air Conception. The ring would protect against dings and scratches to the frame itself and I assume those can be ordered separately if it needs replacing. The thought that went into making sure the starter pull was easy to access definitely shows attention to detail. There's no feeling around trying to find it. I am guessing an e-start version is in the works which some probably would want.
Really appreciate this vid. I’ve got a spot reserved at Aviator in the April class, and am planning on buying my equipment from them too, but I have a car that a tow bar can’t be installed on. So being able to fit one in my trunk is an absolute necessity. I’ve been worried about it, so I appreciate it. Looks like I’ll be all set with a Maverick. (It’s unbelievable to me I can’t find a car rack that doesn’t require a tow bar)
I'm leaning towards the Maverick. I'm impressed with its simplicity. Would you mind doing a measurement between the swing arms? (center on center) Thanks Eric.
just got one hoping to go flying solo tonight first time ever super excited can't wait Edit I got training already just mean flying by myself to be clear
Hey Eric. I appreciate this video is years old but I am currently training towards my first flight (and soon to be first purchase) and wanted to ask please, you mentioned the weight difference between other builds. I am looking at air conception 200 revo vs parajet maverick. Is the 4-5kg and non electric start much of an issue did you think? I know we are weightless in the air but worried it would be noticeable on the ground. Thanks, Sam
Nice rig! For the net tensioner I think I would pass it under the horizontal piece that the peg is on and then fold it over the top of the peg from behind. Just in case that net sees flex for any reason whatsoever.
Question, during a line twist is there any potential for the lines to get hung up on your hoop tighteners? I understand that the tighteners on the Scouts are behind the harness and almost under the seat. Those just look a little catchy to me. Not a complaint but just an observation.
i just viewed the video, thumbs up btw. recently interested in the sport so i will be visiting the Lake Wales store soon as i research more info. what on my mind right now is i'm 6'3" and weigh in @ 250ish, what motor set up for a guy my size would be recommended and approx. cost ?
I see that you opted to not use the prop spacer. The Maverick manuel includes its installation. I would be interested in your thoughts on this. Thanks.
They're really in different leagues. The Eclipse is totally focused on light weight, the Maverick is designed to be an all 'rounder. I LOVE my Maverick
How much do you weigh? I have the Mav and weigh 195lb and use the same hole (hole 4) for midpoint. When landing i seem a bit too far back but maybe that's correct for this motor?
@@aviator Thanks, I'll do that. I'm looking at jumping in and have narrowed my list of candidates to the Parajet and Scout. Can I repeat my question, though? What about torque compensation on the Maverick?
Evan Windom ah sorry I’d missed your question! Edits are tricky. The Parajet uses offset swing arm mounts to help with torque. I find it as easy to wing tip drag on the left as the right
I have a slightly off topic question. Why do many instructors recommend shitting the motor off before landing during training? Yes I learned this watching a lot of instructors, but full disclosure stumbling upon one of “Super Dell’s” video is what made me ask the question. I know most people don’t have a lot of good to say about him, but if he made me ask questions I wouldn’t have thought of otherwise I call that something good. Isn’t it always better to have the motor running Incase a correction or abort is needed?
Gregory Kitchens I’ve chipped or destroyed my share of props landing with the motor on while attempting to land in some pretty tight places with slight tail-winds, plenty of rocks and lots of loose gravel on the ground. During that time, I was landing with the motor “On” because if I didn’t land within a certain spot, I had to “go-around” or else I’d be landing and running into rapidly rising terrain and trees. After spending a stupid amount of money on repairing props or buying new ones, I finally decided it wasn’t worth the risk of ruining my props with bad / fast / hard landings and chose another, albeit less convenient, but safer area to launch and land. Other times you need to carry a little power by keeping the motor running if the winds are getting a little “squirrelly” to work your sink rate or perhaps for more stability and control. It is possible to fall forward on a bad landing with the props running and cut your legs or even your fingers. Haven’t done that yet, but know others who have. So you got to be aware and be careful. But in general, I don’t like flying in those conditions and have since mellowed out a little and just wait for those calm evenings two hours before sunset. And I bought the Aviator PPG strobe for legal flying 30 mins past sunset. I love that strobe and the twilight flying. It’s the best - and no more chipped props!
Garrett Woolley that makes a lot of sense. I’ve not been trained to fly yet so I don’t know a lot about paramotors and that’s why I asked. I was under the impression most had clutches and at idle the prop wouldn’t spin hardly during landings. Thanks for the information
Zenith breaks down a little tighter but is slightly heavier and made from aluminum, whereas the Maverick is titanium. Makes the Zenith a bit easier to break but it's modular and easier to fix... based on my limited experience with both.
What is the total weight of the Maverick (including motor, frame, harness, net, reserve pocket, tank, prop) but without reserve and gas? e.g. for Moster Plus? This is nowhere to be found, even not on Parajets web page. :( Does it has an electrical start and clutch?
@@aviator I didn't know the hoop was optional when I had to replace it! 🤔 Can it be replaced without the hoop? I will say I really like the Zenith net system 😏
Anybody else notice the cop randomly in the background? Good review.
Looks like he's ready for a false flag event.
Hes got alot of $hit in there, need to keep it protected :)

Its about TIME someone gave parajet some lovin! Gotta Zenith. Parajet is a great company.
They really are. Obsessed with quality.

Some say going behind the frame gives more clearance for the swing arms during transport / storage.

Is that the 1947 Cessna 120 you purchased and flew back from Austin, TX, Eric? I can't wait to see that in person!

Is it true that replacing the netting on that unit is $400? I had heard that, but wasn't sure.
