Till Hyatt Lake in Jackson County,OR was poisoned due to Tui Chub bait fish infestation; a limit of crappie was easy in the 1960's. Now about all it has for fish in a shallow reservoir is Bass and Trout (California Fisher fish that turn muddy tasting in late Summer).

Hey Man! I really enjoyed this video ! I see you had a hard time getting in there to fish this spot. I live in olive Branch, Ms. and I have a lot of these main feeder creeks leading to some bigger lakes over here too! The trouble I have is there are a lot of big gravel and rip rap rock dams built with big deep holes behind them , so when the water is high, the water runs over the dam and goes in the hole and traps a lot of fish that you can catch from the bank, but you have to have access to the land to get to it! Tell me what kind of creeks that you look at where you live and I'll try it in my area. Keep up the good work, OK? BTW , I'm 77 , so I don't use a Kayak to fish out of. I either ride my 4 wheeler to the holes I find on google maps or if it's off the lake , maybe get to it from the lake in my boat. If you plan to get in my area let me know and you can meet me at a campground and we'll fish the lake in my boat.

So what features in a creek do you look for that generally hold fish? In the video you mentioned it was a lot of trouble to get back to there so I'm just curious why you went that far back? Were you live scoping the whole way just looking for fish and that's where you found them? Or was there something about that section of the creek that you saw on the maps that lead you there.

@@tincanforacup2745 I find them up shallow in the creeks as early as November. The colder it gets, the better. They will spawn in the same creeks but right now they are there to feed on the shad that go up them. The water is warmer there and so the shad go there to stay alive.
