They are strange, do alot of things different and it takes some getting used to. But the few things I actually can complain about feel quite insignificant compared to the huge amount of features I love. I dont think I will drive anything else for the forseeable future, except my wifes car which isnt a tesla. Teslas are a bit too large for her taste.

Never owned one but driven a few, and to me, driving dynamics are quite important being a car enthusiast myself (who appreciates both combustion and electric). While they may be fast they are quite forgettable compared to other EVs I've driven. Also feel the early Model S is far better built than the current ones. They're not exactly easy to own in the UK either with many mechanics refusing to touch or even inspect them due to rather anti-consumer practices Tesla annoyingly holds. Usual case of bad company, good products.

It really feels like most people either dont know, or are really underestimating the impressiveness and the impact of a tech like what FSD has become. And this is as bad as it will ever be.
I have had 12.5 blow through 3 red lights on me. I estimate that the light turned red for a full two seconds. I was carefully observing cross traffic and wanted to see if it would slam on the breaks or continue. Have not had this behavior on prior releases.
@@thomasireland1770 Tesla will probably stabilize HW3 cars on some cut down, converted, half-assed version of 12.5.x and then drop support for FSD on HW3 cars. If you don't like that, just buy a new Tesla.
I drive for Lyft and Uber most of the time using the FSD. Trust me, it’s amazing feature and my passengers love it 🙏❤️ However, don’t trust 100% on everything your car is deciding to do if you don’t feel comfortable with (just turn it off and keep driving it manually).

This must be designed for different roads than I drive on. I will admit the "autosteer" part works great. I rarely, if ever, need to touch the steering wheel/yoke. However, the speed control is still a disaster, at least where I live. It "sometimes" gets to the speed I have set, but most of the time I'm CONSTANTLY on the accelerator to adjust the speed. It slows down for no valid reasons. When the speed limit increases, the set speed increases properly, but the car remains at the lower speed, by up to 30 km/h! Again, more nudges on the accelerator needed. The turn signals now come on WAY too early, sometimes 2-3 possible turn areas before the actual turn. All of these issues worked a lot better in 12.4.x. Steering has improved, but everything else has deteriorated here (Southern Ontario, Canada).
can you do FSD test drive in really crowd place where FSD can try to merge and get over really crowd lanes? It seems like CA is kinda easy to drive for FSD comapred to NY. it is hard to tell what is different compared to V12.3.6.
Tesla keeps releasing so many versions just for this one guy. The rest of us have to just watch his video and feel good about it. This may go on forever!
Lol what? 12.5.1 has been rolled out to thousands of folks Including myself. And the versions he only got since he’s one of the OG testers Im glad I didn’t get because those had many problems 😅
Tesla FSD did a very good job on this trip. I wish I could compare with Waymo or Cruise but have never been in either. Why don't you test it in underground situations....tunnels or multi-level highway systems where GPS could not function? Not sure if GPS is needed or if neural network could handle it with visual data. Just curious.
I hope they will polish auto park more and make it more smoothly it is very often wiggling the wheel and going very fast near objects but slow when nothing is there 😅
12.5.1.1 has messed up a few times for me. Car wanted to get off the highway on a non-existent roundabout on I-4 in 70 mph area. That was a surprise to say the least.

Hi! When I use FSD it keeps reminding me to move the steering wheel to make sure I am paying attention. Why do you appear to not have to do that? Is it something that comes with the 12.5.1.1?? Thank you.
For me 12.5 was better but had some new bugs. However 12.5.1 is something I would definitely feel comfortable paying a monthly subscription for, yep it’s that good.
That was pretty dang cool ! Wish Autopilot would get some updates too... Even after v26 it has phantombreaking AND doesn't understand if you're going under an overpass (or a tunnel) the 50 km/h on top does NOT impact the 70/80 km/h underneath...or breaking HARD for cars turning off the main road that are ALREADY out of the way, no slow creep, no "oh, it's already finished and outta my way, lets continue"...no-no, it's "AH, HOLY SHIT THERE WAS A CAR TURNING OFF THE ROAD JUST THERE, DID YOU SEE IT, DID YOU FREAKIN' SEE TH....oh, it's gone now, taa-raam-ta-raam-tee-taah-deee, here we go" Some hairy situations because of this. It's better than it was - kinda - but not even CLOSE to as smooth as FSD seems to be... Perhaps we Autopilot-peasants will get some upgraded and smoother AP later on 😁

The highway not being end-end is killing me. I can't wait for that. It still does ok, but it leans out on turns into semi's and each time I have to cancel it. Also if it's not an interstate and it's 55 on a highway, take route 50 that goes almost cross country, it does that stupid picking it's own speed thing... usually going 53 if I don't press anything, it's pure pain. City driving end-end is really quite good now, so that's why I'm just begging for the same on highways. Does anyone else get random camera issues on the B-pillars? Some times says one of them is blocked. Might just need to take it in. 2023 HW4 MYP
Great drive and commentary! Try to find the "Deflicker" setting on your camera, set it to 60Hz or American, so that your buttons and ambient light don't flicker on video :) Oh and you're invited to Europe once FSD finally gets here for some tests! :D
What are you talking about?? These are led buttons and work on low-voltage DC. This is not the same 120V AC type of electricity found in outlets. If it were then there would have been even the outlets for power.

By setting your camera to match the frequency (like 60Hz for American lights), you can reduce or eliminate any flickering effect on the video. It's a common issue with video production, especially when shooting in different lighting environments.
I'm a huge proponent of FSD, but I noticed your legs extended and crossed. There wouldn't be enough time for you to engage the brake god forbid a kid ran out into the street. Not sure that's what Tesla expects from those with early release to supervise.
not saying this is an excuse for not having your feet near the pedal (because you 100% should - this software does make mistakes) but have you seen a tesla in FSD or Autopilot in a situation like that? I have to look behind me because I KNOW my car will stop on a dime, I don’t know about the cars behind me lol
Mmm. Very impressive, but the litmus test will be the streets of Rome, Cairo, Shanghai, Paris, Bombay etc. I see barely traffic, and (very) narrow curvy streets populated with pedestrians, bicycles, scooters, steps, dogs, couriers, etc...
It’s works well in large US cities. If those countries want this tech, maybe they need to be more organised and reduce the chaos. It works both ways. Tesla needs to handle a lot, but cities need to enforce rules.
This always is funny to me. Fsd does not struggle with the same challenges that us human drivers have. High density traffic cities are not the issue for fsd at this moment. High traffic means slow speeds which fsd handles easily. The problems it still has are in entirely different areas.

It's even in the visualization of the car. it might not have detected that a gate has opened but it detected that the way it wanted to drive went from obstructed to not obstructed.
Why are all the fsd videos done in pristine conditions. I haven't seen a single video in proper rain, winter or anything that happens outside of california.
FSD is only available in North America and they have summer... Rain is not a real issue imo and there are many videos of FSD driving in the rain. Snow is gonna be interesting in a few months!
...? There are plenty of videos outside California and where the driver shows FSD is reduced due to weather. Dirty Tesla has videos of this and him driving on snow covered roads. Go troll somewhere else.

I purchased my car in 2019 and purchased FSD with it. This is before "beta". I drive 100 miles per day on FSD and have some so since 2019. The original post is way off, the system is night and day difference.

Would be good to let it try to park itself at the end. I think 12.5 has been working towards that.

Even when it’s perfect it still has to be able to operate in rain, snow and ice. What happens when the cameras are covered in partially frozen slush?
Acceleration seems too fast on your vids as well. My biggest issue with fsd atm

There's no way it detected gate opening!
It did display the gate with a grey line in the display and waited so it appeared to detect the gate opening.
It's even in the visualization of the car. it might not have detected that a gate has opened but it detected that the way it wanted to drive went from obstructed to not obstructed.
Tesla will offer their own Uber service driverless for a fraction of price. Will profit a lot.
