Hands free is a total game changer. Honestly, I think it makes me more attentive, not less. With the nag, I feel like I’m spending so much time managing the nag. Whereas with hands-free, I can just take in everything that’s going on around me.
12.3 improved a lot along each 12.3.x version. How good it can be in 12.4.6 is crazy, and if the improvement pace is kept, it could be released in less than two months. Just wow
I can't wait for the dot 4 branch, the dot 3 branch has me in FSD Jail. It's too sensitive always telling me to pay attention and apply pressure to the steering even though I'm basically jerking off the wheel 😂
Amazing drive... and this will be easier in Europe where we have really good roads, roundabouts and traffic lights in many spots where you have dangerous crossings in the US (I'm amazed you don't have traffic lights or a roundabouts in the 1st crossing of the video, for example)
Don’t court on that. Your country like Europeans countrie are under UNECE regulations. Far from allowing FSD V12 on highway so don’t count on it in City street before years and years
The funny thing is that your drives have been perfect for 5 years and one would never know FSD has improved from watching your channel 🤣 Too bad. Because you've put a lot of time and effort into it.
I wish you didn't turn it off before parking. It needs to do the parking without the specific prompt. It also needs to back out of my driveway for it to be good enough. I hope when 12.4.2 releases, I will get it too. I don't think it'll do as well here in WI. How hard was it to get used to the no hands part. So much time having the nag might make it difficult to adapt.
Thanks for the investment advice. You make a strong case with this video that TSL is undervalued and I will adjust my retirement portfolio accordingly. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I imagine you increased your holdings BEFORE you posted this, so, to the extent that the stock rose as a result, you’ll be rewarded for bringing this to our attention.
Impressive. @10:23 you said "let me go ahead and try and have it park" What did you need to do exactly to get it to park in the parking spot once you arrived? Was it not planning in parking by itself once it got to the car park area?
He took over the car and made it stop. He then scrolled through the parking slots that are visible in the dash and clicked the button he used to scroll through them. In the future it will find a parking spot by itself and actually use the auto park feature. Right now FSD can only pull to side of the road and semi park or stop itself when it gets to the destination. In the next couple of months it will be able to reverse and FSD will talk with the auto park feature, meaning you can have it park and unpark itself and essentially do drives completely autonomously
My biggest issues with FSD is the nagging. It would be nice if you also tested that part of the system out. Like if you look at something to your left for 3 seconds does it beep at you? And how does it differ from the previous version.
On standard drives 12.4, 12.5, 12.6 etc will all look the same? I don't want to bring you down but - how do you keep these videos interesting going forward?
If each new version release is one month apart it will be at a billion miles between interventions at just a 5 times improvement per version release! Basically near zero interventions or collisions THIS YEAR!!!!
Convincing performance. Two questions: 1) can ALL commands done with voice? 2) Is it technically possible to upgrade hardware 3 to hardware 4 to reasonable costs?
1) Not all but many of the most common actions are covered. I expect that within the next year or so that Grok will be added to all Teslas and will be able to understand and complete almost any request that you throw at it. 2) The hardware 4 module is too large to fit within the space where the hardware 3 module is located and Tesla did not make any provisions for upgrading to it. Elon has said that hardware 3 will be capable of full self driving and will be safer than a human driver but hardware 4 (and 5) will be even better (safer) at it.
the dummy will need eyes that move and blink and look fairly real. It's doable though. The intelligence of the car has to be quite high to see through every possible trick. By the time it is that smart, it might also be smart enough to drive without supervision. But yeah, it's fun to think of how people will bend the rules with this
The last 50 yards is going to be interesting. Knowing where to go in parking lots, where is the door, where to park. The reverse is going to be a problem in winter or rain, my rear camera is constantly covered by a drip of water or some ice, requiring human intervention to clear it. .6 still takes speed bumps at 20+ MPH, ouch, and drives into huge potholes and places where they are resurfacing the road and there's a large drop-off at full speed. Loves to drive in poorly marked bike lanes that I can see, but the car can't. Most of these FSD videos are from people that live in areas with perfect weather and perfect roads. I hate most driving, how boring and a waste of time, hence my FSD purchase, but daily I notice too many cases where it's not as rosy as all these online drives are.
What I wouldn't at all mind is some voice feedback. After a "Take me to this place", a "Sure, taking you to this place"- confirmation would be nice. Not the least to be sure it got it right. Hopefully that is a RoboTaxi feature.
My Canadian M3 SR+ has 12.3.6 and I run errands daily for a coffee, groceries, hardware, etc. Usually 5-10 minutes one way. Most times along the same routes. I have the opposite issue. I get occasional intervention-free runs. Errors vary. The latest embarrassment was using summon at the grocery store and the car drove into a cart corral & would have crashed if I hadn't intervened! I recorded it & reported it. And it still aborts on odd occasions! WTF! It's better but I only get to use it about 4 months of the year, It does NOT handle northern winters. I'll share this video, but this is NOT the norm by any stretch of the imagination.
it's true. The more boring and confined the driving environment, the more likely we will let the car do it. We'll tend to only drive when there's fun to be had. That is basically how I act using adaptive cruise on my oldsmobile
I think the "it's sometimes still fun to drive manually" is something we will just have to give up. Kids now 15 and below won't get driver's licenses, and in ten years no one will be _allowed_ to drive.
I guarantee you that many kids that are 14 now will get drivers licenses. Guaranteed. And once this tech is in all the cars, we won't necessarily not be allowed to drive. It may be a temptation for the government, but they won't necessarily do it. There are various ways to proceed. One possibility is that the government permanently takes away the licence of people who cause serious harm when driving. Remember that driving is a pastime - a pleasure (in some situations). They haven't banned hunting for food, despite the dangers to others, and the alternatives to hunting. They might make getting a driver's license more difficult. That's one option. But remember, many careful individual human drivers make it through their whole driving career without causing serious harm to anyone. It's a portion of drivers that are less safe. I guarantee that human driving won't be banned in 10 years. In the long run, there may be some temptation, but it's possible driving enthusiasts will manage to preserve the right. Fun is fun. And fun is worth preserving.
But will they put UBI before 2030!? Many pioneers including billionaires, scientists, Nobel Prize winners, engineers, architects, analysts and so on and so forth... almost all agree on the fact that we will have AGI in 2027 and ASI in 2029 and they look and evaluating the exponential technological acceleration curve, I wonder why they have not yet implemented universal basic income to anticipate the trends that will come from it. Just to name one, Elon Musk says we will have AGI as early as 2025 and ASI 2029.
hehehe. No. See you on February 4th 2025. I guarantee it won't be sleepworthy by then. And leave the government out of it. Ignoring the government's rules, it will not be sleepworthy from your perspective or Tesla's or an independent assessment. February 4th 2025. see you then.
Tesla will not be inclined to have people buy a tesla and make the profit themselves from it working as a robo taxi. Tesla would be inclined to have all the profit for themselves. So, we can see this era is one where tesla is using customers to develop the tech. The actual robo taxis will be different vehicles, and tesla will take all the profits from their driving. Current teslas will never operate independently as robo taxis. They'll always need a responsible person ready to take control, in the car. On the other hand, they might want to share the profits of a robo taxi slightly. Someone has to charge, maintain and clean the cars (inside and out), and they won't be interested in doing that necessarily, until optimus is advanced
Omar, TSLA is not undervalued right now. What matters is not that TSLA can make this tech (FSD) happen, what matters is if TSLA will be able to monetize it properly.
I think when it comes to decisions in the stock market, nobody can predict what it will do. That’s why you need a well educated professional personal investment advisor. I go with Jim Van Tinnus…. Jk. Making fun of the stupid ass comment bots
Do you think that in 2035 with the advent of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) and ASI (Super Artificial Intelligence) they will introduce universal basic income!? a subsidy!? there will be free will!? an era of abundance will begin!? the intellectual and motor capabilities of robots have already surpassed the average human and before 2035 there is talk of them surpassing those of any human and then again those of any human combined! regarding both body and mind! answer me please...
Unlikely teslas on the road in June 2024 will ever be able to operate independently as taxis without very significant hardware updates. And probably those won't happen, so they'll never work independently as taxis
Drives are so effortless that now I sleep during your videos.

Wow. It’s seriously impressive how good Tesla FSD is already and how much better it can still get. Thanks for sharing these videos!
12.3 improved a lot along each 12.3.x version. How good it can be in 12.4.6 is crazy, and if the improvement pace is kept, it could be released in less than two months. Just wow

It looks amazing! Were those three routes typical? Do you still have interventions that are NECESSARY as opposed to personal preference?

Wait did it park itself in that spot with no feedback or did you deactivate FSD then trigger the self park?
So FSD 12.4.1 does not require you to touch the wheel during your drive?
Correct
Even if you have an earlier model? My Model X is from 2019, and doesn’t have a driver-facing camera.
