    General advice for weapon modding:
1: Play to your weapons strength. Since mods provide multiplicative percentage-based increases, it is always better to increase what is already high. Say, for instance, that you have a rifle with 20% critical hit chance and 5% status chance.
If you throw on a maxed Point Strike mod, it will increase those 20% chance by 150% or in other words: Multiply it by 2.5.
This would leave you with a 50% crit chance which is not at all bad.
If instead you chose a mod that increased status chance by 150%, you would only end up with 12.5% status chance, which is not great.
Therefore, it's best to increase a weapons high values because you are getting a greater total bonus.
Another thing to keep in mind is types of flat damage increase. There's four different types that will increase your base damage and they work differently:
1: General damage increase. Found on mods such as Serration or Pressure Point. Simply increases all your damage by a specified amount. Pretty much always good.
2: Elemental Damage. Found on a variety of mods. Directly adds elemental damage based on the base damage of the weapon. Different elements exceed against different enemies and can inflict different status effects.
3: Physical damage increase. These mods focus on the physical damage types (impact, puncture and slash) and unlike elemental mods, they cannot introduce new damage types to a weapon. Two things to know about these: One, they do not work if a weapon doesn't have the corresponding damage type. For instance, the Ignis Flamethrower deals pure fire damage and has no impact, puncture or slash that could be increased. Second: These mods should not be considered a damage option. You'll always get high damage increases from other mods. Instead, they are used to change the damage weighting of a weapon to affect the likelyhood of certain status effects. Sounds confusing, but long story short, don't bother with them early on.
4: Faction Damage: These mods do not increase the base statistics of a weapon but instead add a damage multiplier against enemies based om their faction. For instance, Bane of Grineer increases the damage dealt against all Grineer enemies (those armoured soldiers you know from the tutorial). These mods become very important later on when you need to optimize your damage against high level enemies. They are good, but you need to remember to swap them out depending on your mission. There's also a handful of enemies with no corresponding faction damage mod, though you won't see them early on.
Important to note is that in order to be as efficient as possible, you wanna stack these mod types, as that is more efficient than only increasing damage through a single type.
Completely unrelated note: You get a flawed "flow" mod during the tutorial. Most flawed mods are just downgrades, but the flawed Flow is actually more efficient in terms of capacity drain than the regular one, so I'd suggest you hold onto it until you have the means to more easily optimize your builds.

Pretty good video. My biggest tip that you haven't already covered is this:
KEEP MOVING. Your survival improves dramatically by just staying on the move. Learn to aim while moving in the air or sliding on the ground. Cast your powers in the air whenever possible so they don't kill your momentum. Don't stay still for even a moment unless you're somehow protected, invisible or dead.
Oh, and try to buy new Warframe slots instead of selling old warframes, especially the ones that are harder to farm. Trust me they'll come in handy eventually.

Also rolling looks funky at the start and unpreffersble since it feels less controlled than other mechanics
But it actually makes up for it in more situations than you'd think due to damage reduction and stagger/flinch immunity when you see something coming
Yes you are locked in a roll animation momentarily but it's a lot more controll than being knocked over and taking full damage

For new players, I'd definitely recommend joining a good Dojo. A Dojo that has good facilities. New Tenno can cut out a lot of hours of confusion and grinding when they can go to a Dojo to get blue prints for various weapons, armor and items. Dojos are also used to trade and train in many cases. Saves a lot of time and grants some key items you will need at one point or another. Also, do relic runs. Yes, the grind can be a hassle but to save time, do capture missions or low level Survival if you want to unlock a group of relics per mission. That way, you get Prime parts which you will need and for the Prime junk you don't want, sell them for Ducats which Baro Ki'Teer takes or sell them on Warframe Market for platinum.

    My tips:
1: Choose the Skana sword during Awakening. You can buy the MK1 bo outright for credits. However, the Skana will need to be built or bought with plat. And the resources to make it don't unlock until you get to Mars. This is a bit of a slog just to get something you could've had for free from the very first mission. Sure, it may not be an apex level weapon, but it is definitely better than the mk1 bo, and again, you can buy the mk1 bo and some other weapons outright for credits.
2: Get the Lex. It's considered to be one of the best of the starter-level weapons, and overall a solid secondary. Lex Prime is also a fairly easy farmable via fissures and relics. I picked one up early in-game, and it carried me to Jupiter just prior to the Eximus getting Overshield upgrade. It may be fairly slow-firing, but it is basically a pistil-sized sniper rifle. I've shot Dyrgn pilots out of their machines with it at extreme distance. This accuracy can also be handy for using it to rack up a few stealth kills from beyond the enemies' hearing/sight range. Stealth kills from guns boost the affinity you get from each kill, stacking up to 5 stacks, at which point, additional stacks refresh the bonus countdown.
3: Join a Clan. A good clan will help you out quite a bit. More experienced players can give you a lot of useful info, help you figure out your builds, help with farming credits and resources to build stuff, allow you to form a squad without needing to rely on random public squads (extremely useful for some nightwave challenges), and possibly even be willing to trade some of their "junk" items which might be better than your items, for something they can use. I once traded a mod that I had many copies of to a newer user in exchange for a Deimos fish that I needed the resources from. Plus, some clans have 0% trading tax, vs the 50% tax at Maroo's Bazaar. Some clans/alliances may also have their own Discord servers, which will further help with staying in contact and allow for things like sharing of screenshots or video links.
4: Somewhat at odds with the "rush the star system" suggestion. Take the time to farm up the resources, mods, etc, that more experienced players might suggest you use to help survive the star chart. Rushing through the star chart used to be a lot easier, and many longer-time users than myself sometimes overlook the fact that the star chart is legitimately harder than it used to be. The overshield upgrade to Eximus units outright stopped my progression, until I backtracked and worked on leveling up and obtaining better gear.
5: Farm seasonal events. Certain items that get very expensive to trade for can be obtained simply by farming the tokens use by events such as Dog Days or Naberus. Apart from the festive decorations, you can get some useful things like Arcanes, mods, and even weapons blueprints for some decent weapons.
6: Farm up the Simaris reputation to buy the Solar widget for the Synthesis scanner. After this is obtained, you only need to keep 1 scanner in inventory. This is going to save you a lot of credits and allow you to scan everything that's scannable. It is Infinite Ammo for the scanner.
7: Ammo mutation mods and battery weapons are your friend. Batter weapons are relatively under-powered compared to regular weapons, but regenerate ammo, allowing you to have infinite ammo. This is particularly useful as Wukong's clone no longer has infinite ammo, and some missions can result in incredible drains on your ammo if you don't have ammo mutation mods. In addition, some of these weapons like Basmu and Shedu have special effects when the battery is fully drained.
8: Read the tips and wiki, when it comes to warframes and abilities. Also, read the wiki for info on weapons. Sometimes warframes or weapons may have some interesting reactions with certain mods, or may be incompatible with certain mods that seem like they should be working on them.
9: Nataruk is NOT an AOE weapon. It is also NOT silent, despite being a bow. It does however fire energy arrows that have INFINITE Punch-Through against bodies and absolutely massive hitboxes. Some players jokingly say it fires logs or trees. You will want to add multishot (and perhaps Hush) to it.
10: Thunderbolt mod destroys the arrows when they explode. This means, that you will sacrifice punch-through or any special effects the bow states it has, in exchange for the arrow doing AOE damage.
11: Vastilok is the only silent gunblade. It is not 100% undetectable, as it uses silent ranged weapon mechanics. So, look those up on the wiki and apply to this gunblade to take the best advantage of this feature, any normally silent primary/secondary weapons, and the weapon silencing mods for rifles/shotguns/pistols.
13: Learn how to use Glaives effectively. These are some cool melee weapons, once you get used to how they work. Tapping Melee Attack (I use a custom controller setup, so I prefer to use command names, rather than keyboard/mouse/controller button names) allows for using them as normal melee weapons. Holding this down will charge up a throw. Holding this again at the right time just prior to catching it can allow you to chain throws. There is a mod which will give you more damage for each chained throw, and I personally find the animations quite cool. If you throw a glaive, you can cause it to emit an AOE energy explosion by pressing Heavy Attack/Alt Fire and immediatly return to you. You can also mod for additional or fewer bounces, as you see fit. Wolf's Sledge has the same mechanic, but is a hammer and thus uses hammer stance mods rather than glaive stance mods.

I think the reason behind the lore being locked to so later on is so that new players experience the game the good old way first, a cyborg ninja game with a sarcastic ship AI and a space mother who we all secretly have/had a crush on. You’re meant to power up and at the same time get attached to certain characters so when the story truly starts you are invested. Plus less story means new players get to focus on the gameplay and learning the mechanics first rather than having new mechanics shoved in your mouth before you finish chewing up the basics. I personally always loved that approach and it makes unlocking the new mechanics feel that much more special to the player rather than it simply being seen as a new toy. It gets personal value attached to it. I’m studying to become a game developer and I would say that explaining just the necessary makes it much easier to make and a lot easier to shape it to be what you want it to be, whilst retaining the core player experience. When something comes easy no one cares about it. Which is why some quests straight up lock you out of your gear to avoid you breezing through them.
I started playing Warframe when Ivara came out(I believe The Second Dream wasn’t even in the game back then) and playing through it got me attached to the game for a couple of years after. I took a break 4 years ago and came back recently because of the lack of cross progression and now I have started over and the nostalgia of EVERYTHING hits so hard. Only complaint I have is the new enemy types that straight up ignore abilities for some reason and The Sands of Inaros seem to be outdated because I searched every Corpus planet for a Railgun Moa and not a SINGLE ONE had them. If anyone can help I’d appreciate it.
But yeah going back, the approach is good to let players experience the world of Warframe before getting slingshotted into the hidden secrets behind the whole situation. That’s when you grow to appreciate everything you’ve experienced so far because you may have never took it as important before. Warframe is one of the few games I’d give a 9.8-10/10.

I noticed in your syndicate section you only have 3 syndicates maxed out instead of 4. Yes, there is 3 combinations to get 4 syndicates to max rank at the same time.
This means you have access to more items (Syndicate weapons and mods.) to use and that others might want to buy for some plat income.
Below is a very old copy paste (2018) with the full setup you could add to second follow up video.
    1) Steel / Suda / Hexis / Veil
Only run Steel / Suda missions, have a Steel Sigil equipped
(well, also equip a Suda Sigil until you are Rank 1 with them, heh).
Suda won't interfere with Steel and gives you +50% Hexis,
the -50% Veil is made up by the +50% Veil from Steel
and the Steel Sigil (no negative for Suda / Hexis) finally gets Veil into positive.
    2) Veil / Loka / Perrin / Steel
Only run Veil / Loka missions, have a Veil Sigil equipped.
Works pretty much like the previous.
FYI, this combination makes you miss out on Suda's unique Large Team Shield Restore
(no big deal IMO, plus you can switch Syndicates to eventually get everything).
    3) Perrin / Hexis / Loka / Suda
Only run Perrin / Hexis missions, alternate between Perrin / Hexis Sigils.
Perrin / Hexis are opposed but you still get a total of +50% for each
and they don't interfere with Loka / Suda so it's +50% each there, as well.
FYI, this combination makes you miss out on Veil's unique Large Team Ammo Restore
(maybe somewhat of a big deal, dunno).

Middle Mouse click (not sure what it is for console players) to select the ENTIRE stack with 1 click.

Locking it behind anywhere from 70-1000 hours of play (what it took in the old days) significantly enhanced the story, and nowadays you have the less significant but fun quests in the early game that fill that gap anyways (Deadlock protocol, etc)

The thing about Endo is true as long as you get mods to upgrade. There is a point in the future that you barely need Endo so you can stockpile.
I reached a point where I got 300k+ Endo and about 100k more in Ayatan and duplicate mods. I also believe I can get 100k more in the coming week if I wanted.
The issue is that it's so far off into the end game that it's irrelevant. *Do manage your Endo carefully.*

Great video for someone like myself who's giving it another go after a few years hiatus. One thing that did standout as an error, maybe I misunderstood is the "work around" for retrying the master rank scenarios. I failed one last night and tried the work around but I have to wait the 24 hours to attempt it again but I can practice it for what it's worth. Unfortunately it's rank 5 with the terminal hacking and that last one is kind of about getting lucky, I practiced it first and had no problem, jumped into qualification and failed on the last one. I have some more varied/random tips for newer players, these are mainly time savers more than anything:
    1. You should start farming Mastery only when you reach Ceres. Gabii, the dark sector mission, gives the highest affinity boost in the star chart. Don't waste your time on inferior missions, you'll probably be better off with what you have.
    2. Syndicates are annoying. Don't dedicate your life leveling them up, especially as a new player. Your mind will naturally gravitate to them later on because you haven't done them early on. This applies to the six syndicates as well as the open world ones.
    3. *You do not need Cryotic. Move on.*
    4. Set yourself to solo when doing any star chart mission you've never done. I always felt confused about why these missions are so easy and then I realized it's because someone was doing them for me.
    5. All Warframes that have a dedicated level to their existance (Voruna, Citrine, etc.) are not worth your time.
    6. Buy every blueprint you can, don't worry about being poor. You'll get your money up eventually, especially if you haven't done any star chart missions.
    7. Your void relics can wait. To even hope to get every part of a Warframe/Weapon you need to reach atleast Pluto.
    8. If a weapon seems expensive to craft; it is. Don't waste your time farming for it. Keep going with the star chart.

that said, there are only a few that are actually tricky that require practice, namely the stealth check ones. the rest you shouldn't ***need*** to practice, but it never hurts to, and only takes a couple minutes to get an idea of what you're in for.

If you play through story quests, regardless if you've reached that planet the game will take you there. The only thing that stops you is some quests require certain items but it's usually things you get as you do the quests. Normally this doesn't matter but when youre just starting out the junctions can be annoying to do so you can skip them and do a few higher level missions to power up then come back and do the junction. It's just something to help keep your sanity when you're still a squishy new tenno. Also, use all the weapons you can when you're starting and get them to max rank regardless of how trash it is. This will help get your Mastery rank up quickly and it's better to use the trash guns early, also helps to get a feel for what type of build you will play through the majority of your starchart with. It's so annoying bringing a trash gun into a high lvl defense just for the mastery progress on a gun you'll never really use.

Warframe wiki/googling would be my Number 1 Tip. Since ressource drones don't actually cover ALL materials you can get on a planet, but only the ressources that a ressource drone can gather. For example, oxium, not being planet specific, but rather enemy-specific, with the oxium osprey. Or Argon crystals in the void I believe.
My Number 2 Tip would be, play different missions. Even if they don't sound appealing, if you only play the same stuff the game will get boring. But if you play variety, not only will it help with ressources, but also keeping the game interesting

Something I just discovered last week. Don't be too fast to sell off weak guns after you hit lvl 30 on them. Some weapons like the (I think it's called) Akfuris requires 2 Furis to craft it. Knowing in advance if you need to double up can be the difference between 24 hours to craft the 2nd and new gun vs 36 rebuying a sold gun, crafting 2, then crafting the new weapon.

    PUBLIC VS SOLO SETTINGS
set yourself to solo and treat missions like it’s an open world and just press random buttons
Weird tip for a select few people that could potentially be objectively wrong but worth an attempt if by chance you are like me. I tried warframe 1.5-2 years ago and didn’t really like it due to having other players drop in with matchmaking, and them being considerably more adept at playing, made missions go by in seconds and I’d get like 10 kills didn’t get to do any of the mechanics and was basically dead weight the whole time not having a clue what was going on. Gave it another shot recently after learning that I could do things solo and learned way more in the first twenty minutes than I did in the two hours the first time around. It’s something that is a first breath let alone a first step kind of tip but could potentially make things later on significantly easier especially when it comes to the movement tec available in this game. (It’s probably nothing of note to say but I beat jackal solo on my first attempt with no prior knowledge of the fight and only one death by treating it like a dark souls boss because I had learned a bunch of movement options on accident) again this is definitely a strange thing to mention but I rarely see anyone mentioning the existence of this setting option for beginners but I really can be a massive QOL option.

When I played warframe in 2020 the only way you could possibly get any drip at all was by buying it with platinum. Nowadays sure you can get a lot more cosmetics if you use platinum but the fact we have a way to at least earn some cosmetics without spending any money is amazing. Giving you free ways to earn platinum and giving you ways to not have to use platinum at all really puts me in good graces with the developers

I am beginner. After 50 hours i had to open more weapon slots and warframes since i was able to craft my first two warframes.A Necro and a Zephyr.I saw that 2000 platinum was on sales for 25€ so i bought them mostly to support the game since it is f...g amazing and so fun and addictive.

Honestly the best advice would be play the game at your own pace. Don't speed run into anything. I know there's alot of good stuff in the game but this is a grindy game after all. I usually play for 2-3 hours just to focus on building a weapon and I get off to play something else.

I disagree about buying weapon or frame slots because they practically give them to you for free in Nightwave.
Of course it'll take a while, but it's a free option.
Save the plat for actual weapons or frames.

The best tip I can give new players is to take your time you can play this game entirely solo if you want take your time enjoy the story enjoy the characters learn the gameplay and for God's sake ignore everything you read and see about Platinum you do not need Platinum you do not need this premium currency just play and enjoy the game do not try to have the best guns or the best warframes right off the bat best thing you can do is become familiar with all the menus but do not overwhelm yourself just take your time and enjoy the game is the greatest free-to-play game that has ever came out and welcome to the community

I know you emphasized it and this video is over a year old, but the biggest tip I can give, is if you're for example thinking of buying a warframe from the market, it's almost always slightly cheaper to buy the prime version, rush the construction, and install an orokin catalyst (that last part is a must have to perfect a build as it effectively lets you double up all your mods by infusing them)

I know this is an old vid but As someone that has just started, there is a starter bundle that is 45 plat that gives you 2 weapons and 2 frame slots…cheaper then paying separately:)

hi there, very nice, may i add for MR : if you find an item that you do not like/hate lvl it to 30 only then delete/sell so you will not come back later to recraft re lvl just to do from 24 to 30 then resell :) , Artax + Cryotra are your best friend for some weird rivens unveil tasks so they are a keeper (imo) , try do the MK1 weapons early in the game (they are cheap in market, + a lot of MR). The best i liked and recomend a lot is the disolve+mk1+lvl to 30

as my friend gave mee this tip years back its not something i wish i knew since i already knew, but the best 2 early game warframes to get are valkyr and rhino, valkyr just smashes trough the star chart
and another thing is with the 6 syndicates pick 3 on the left or right(you can keep 3 up easely iff you follow that rule)

  • @infiniti7773

You said to ignore open-world areas as a new player, but I kinda disagree. They are all time-gated by daily rep caps, which are especially low when you have a low MR. This is why I think it's important that they at least max out their daily rep in the open world areas every day, because they all have super useful features like archwing stuff, helminth, necramech, amps, etc.
Also wow poor new players when they discover stuff like kitguns, operators, companions, kuva weapons, eidolons, oh my!

Don't try to pick a frame before you've played the game. Some people make using a single frame work, but generally speaking different frames excel at different things, and you'll likely find yourself broadening your horizons very soon. I'm only 3 weeks in, but I am already working on/own 5 frames, none of which are the one I originally picked out to go for before I started playing.

I'd say one of my biggest tips is: Warframe is not a sprint, its a marathon, so dont be surprised that youve only made it to Mercury within a week of playing, take your time, enjoy the game for what it is, the crazy stuff you see in youtube videos about the game will come in time. Its not a race.😁

Number one thing that i see new players quite because of is the timers. Its a big turn off for them when they are enjoying the game , grind out a new cool item, then get hit with a 12 to 48 hour timer before they can use what they earned.
