Elle, this is truly the nicest and most beautiful pantry makeover I've seen on TH-cam, and believe me when I tell you I am not easily impressed.
You know what? To blazes with Pinterest. Sorry, no offense to anyone, but I am old school from way before the internet or social media were created. It is not important what anyone else thinks of your progress. What is important is that you've taken your own God-given talent and skills to create something beautiful and functional (for almost no $), which you can be proud of for years to come. What a wonderful lesson to impart on your children! To me, that is sooo much more important than being Pinterest or Instagram worthy (although it is).
You obviously created this space with love, and it is genuinely inspiring. Well done, girl! 👏
You have just earned another new subscriber. 😉

I hope i don’t defend you but I have a question about how you and your husband share the work at home? Like cleaning, making dinner, take care of the kids and so on. I think it’s quite interesting and wondering if that’s someting you would considering making a video about. I live in Sweden and a stay home mum is almost a shameful thing. We are suposed to have a career and not focus on family otherwise you have failed. I think it’s quite sad and I wish things where different. Maby that’s someting you could talk about. Finally! Thank you for inspires me every day ❤️

You can actually find some really beautiful plywood very inexpensively. You could even get some really thin plywood that you just sit on top of the already existing shelves, and attach another apron piece, the same way you did with the foam, to make them look thicker, without the price tag of dimensional lumber.

Thanks for this. Kmart Australia has a knock off version of the oxo pop containers that I bought to put in my pantry. You made me research them. While they are considered a #7 for recycling, the material they are made from Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene doesn't leach any harmful chemicals. I tried to find out specifically what the oxo containers are made from, but can't find the specific name anywhere.
Can I just say, you did a fantastic job! I'd be tempted to take the pantry door off! It looks so amazing.

I watched this bbc show about families who are accustom to name brand and over shop and eat too much processed foods and someone comes in and takes away all of the lables and replaces some things with generic some with better quality and some the same and keeps the family guessing. I just loved the look everything had a plan white paper with black letters no advertising. I started removing lables of foods that I knew what they were like my coconut oild I realized how much business was on the lable that was one of the easiest to peel off some of the others like spices and acv I covered with white paper. as far as buy containers i like using mason jars they are one on the most affordable options and they are so common it is easy to replace and keep consistancy within. they don't work for everything but I recently switched to only the wide mouth and I am passing on my narrow mouth jars for simplification. that is another thing that has really helped having less varity were it doesn't really help. example I don't really need 10 kinds of noodles. having a lot less box mix foods also makes a pantry look so much nicer. I need to paper my shelves taking the doors off really helped cut down on the level of orange in my kitchen I litterally could feel a calming sensation wash over my body as I took off each cupboard door I have bought the shelf paper but its a little harder to put on actual shelves and the back and side parts of cupboards than something removable.

In all seriousness, thanks for the warning - I've spent far too many hours these past few weeks searching for glass containers, and so many people use the OXO containers in their pantry make-overs, I was wondering if I made the wrong choice going with glass. Judging from the ‘before’, the fact that you even have empty containers in your pantry, not refilled and hided in the back, I am sure the make over won’t last long. It’s a process to maintain a house, to storage food. My advice is to have those once in a while week, just don’t go grocery shopping, sticking with the pantry you have. Eat up your food, and you will get to understand yourself and your eating habits.

It’s beautiful. I am going to do that to my ugly wire shelves. And I’m tired of stuff falling through the spaces between the wires!

What do you do about extra that doesn’t fit in those containers? We buy lots in bulk (oatmeal for example) and what we buy would not fit in any “cute” canisters 😫

Maybe put the extra oatmeal in freezer bags and put them in the freezer or in a basket on the top shelf? Maybe even a tub with the latching handles & have it stored somewhere for later?

Looks amazing! Im glad you said that about the OXO containers because I was going back and forth on those and some others semi similar to your new ones. I am totally going to be a copy cat and do the same to my shelves :)

If you can't afford to change all your containers at once, do it a little at a time. Buy one per paycheck and eventually it'll be perfect it just took a little time but you didn't bust your budget so yay

That looks beautiful! I have painted wood shelves in my pantry. I may have to get some of that contact paper. It looks so warm and home-y. Great job. P.S. Isn't Katherine the best?!

I love that you did away with plastic, I love the ikea glass containers with lids attached you can use then for your panty or for leftovers in the fridge multi-purpose uses.

This idea makes me wish I had a pantry to redo. I have cabinet space as my pantry so no such luck, but I love the idea.

My pantry definitely needs to be organized! We're working on a video where my pantry shows briefly and I'm so embarrassed 😟 running to Dollar Tree now! 🏃‍♀️😂

At first I thought, another pantry makeover? Well I can’t believe how really different and pleasing your makeover turned out! I have been trying to use glass containers for a year now! Thank you for information about the plastics!

I love the remodeling of the pantry! Thanks for the great idea. I am thankful also to see a basket with junk food in it! Junk food is a standard item in our house. Thanks again especially for the squeegee tip
