Hell yes. This was one of the best performances I've ever seen from Megadeth. It was magical to see Kiko and Marty playing together. They put on such a good show! Wish I could have been there.
Not sure what’s more impressive Marty playing or that Dave nailed the vocals on this song considering how he struggles with some songs due to the cancer battle and aging voice but this sounds close to how he sang this 30 years ago
Yes, the vocals were awesome i thought the same thing. But the greatest thing on this was just them looking at eachother and appreciating the other one and the time they spent tohether
"Dave nailed the vocals on this song" - Are you serious? You think Dave "nailed" the vocals? Yeah, maybe nailed them to the cross and left them to die. This sounded NOTHING like the original. If you think it did, then you clearly haven't listened to the original in a LONG time.
@@nomore6167 Of course it doesn't sound like original, needless to say! But It's in tune and he's still singing with good vibrato. I would describe it as a far more growly version. Different for sure but a pleasure to hear nonetheless!
Gotta love Marty still Flippin his hair around like it's 1992. This 3 guitar sound with james' meaty bass to go with dirks amazing drumming is stunning!!!! Dave's vocals on point. This song means so much it's beyond heavy on all fronts
As far as still living musicians go, there’s nothing I’ve wanted to see more than Marty playing Megadeth again. He is the greatest of all time and I’m so glad it finally happened.
Megadeth went on a weird new turn right after Blackmail the Universe. You will not get that 80s-90s quality songwriting no more. Being good go with focus and competition, None of these bands focus as much with all the money/easy life they have now plus none compete.
This puts me on a nostalgia trip ... saw Megadeth live at the Glasgow Barrowlands, Scotland, UK (I live just outside Glasgow) on Saturday October 3rd, 1992, with 3 other buddies of mine. I was a fresh-faced, 16-year-old lad at that time, in my prime (just like Megadeth the band was in its prime in 1992), and Megadeth was my favourite band at the time; I was obsessed with them. The concert was epic for all of the above reasons, but also epic because it was the band's first time playing in the city of Glasgow, Scotland ... not to mention that Pantera was the supporting act. It doesn't really get any better, does it? 😎😉
Aaaarrgghh Waaaww Yeah Megadeth For Ever Master Dave Mustaine where there for me in my Darkest Hour and have saved me with your Music For Dying frome Heavy Drug,s.! 😎🤩👌👍🤘💪💯%🎸☢️☣️☢️☣️
its awesome to see dave and marty on stage together again, but damn man. dave should be calling it a day soon, preserve some of the quality before it all fizzles out.
Marty Friedman will not rejoin Megadeth.....why? Because he doesn't have to rejoin them. He's been living in Japan for close to 30 years now and is a rock god over there. He's never going to leave Japan and has stated that many times over the decades. Mustaine looks like he's 75 years old and Friedman who's 60 looks like he's 35 years old. It was a magical night but that's all it was.....a night! Sort of like people thinking because KK Downing played with Priest at the RRHOF that he's now going to rejoin them....he's not!
Nope. Egos between Rob & Glenn and Downing are why he would never fully return to Priest. As for Marty, yeah this is basically what I've been saying. It's not like he left on awful terms with Mustaine, either. He wanted to express himself creatively by going solo, and his career in Japan has shown he's been a huge success. And NGL, I'm glad Marty and Nick didn't come back to Megadeth when they were asked after Chris Broderick & Shawn Droved left in 2014. Otherwise we wouldn't have Kiko & Dirk breathing some fresh air into the band.
@@TheyCallMeMrMaybe You'd be dead wrong about Priest too....KK just turned into a whiny bitch over the entire time he decided to leave the band....he want'ed them to retire...however it's not his band or his decision. He jumped ship a month before a major tour...they got Faulkner and there's no looking back....Ritchie can easily play anything KK did....Firepower was a critically acclaimed album of 2018 KK's Priest is a hodge podge of rejects that have now made an album 2 years ago with zero touring! The album was weak and sold like shit...KK cursed the band by getting Ripper Owens...who's already moved on to other projects. He was gone for 11 years and that's the best he can do for a band and a supposed comeback? wake up!
Did anyone notice the screens showing nukes being detonated during this song? That would be rather awkward showing that to a Japanese crowd. Just sayin.....
Mustaine is such a train wreck nowadays. I'm honestly surprised he did this song, given his narcissism and ring-wing views and his complete 180 turnaround from when they wrote this. I guess he needs the money. His singing had zero passion or soul here; it was like listening to modern Mike Tramp singing White Lion songs.
"but that sure doesn't sound like 'Countdown To Extinction' to me" - You have to pay attention to the guitar work, not the vocals. The vocals were nowhere close to the original. Those who say they are haven't listened to the original in a LONG time (or are just lying).
I dunno about you guys, but watching Marty & Kiko playing twin guitar harmonies was pretty awesome.
They should have done she wolf, that ending solo would be perfect!
Hell yes. This was one of the best performances I've ever seen from Megadeth. It was magical to see Kiko and Marty playing together. They put on such a good show! Wish I could have been there.
Yea this is awesome getting maiden vibes
Kiko is shit
Lots of guitar talent on that stage
Seeing Dave and Marty smiling to each other jamming makes my whole day
gotta love that moment @1:58 with Dave and Marty smiling at each other.
This is a forgotten treasure off this album, not one they played live much. Ah man just so much awesome going on here
Not sure what’s more impressive Marty playing or that Dave nailed the vocals on this song considering how he struggles with some songs due to the cancer battle and aging voice but this sounds close to how he sang this 30 years ago
Yeah mate, Mustaine's vocals are so impressive considering the cancer battle. He's got a great vibrato in his singing!
Yes, the vocals were awesome i thought the same thing. But the greatest thing on this was just them looking at eachother and appreciating the other one and the time they spent tohether
Dave’s adapted. It took him years to do it but it’s happened.
"Dave nailed the vocals on this song" - Are you serious? You think Dave "nailed" the vocals? Yeah, maybe nailed them to the cross and left them to die. This sounded NOTHING like the original. If you think it did, then you clearly haven't listened to the original in a LONG time.

What a beautiful thing to see Dave and Marty on stage again....I love these guys
Not as good as Linkin Park, but also awesome. Countdown to Extinction is one of my favourite songs from the 90s.
Marty had such a huge impact on Megadeth at the time he was in the band. Very happy to see him jamming with them again, even if its for one show.
Gotta love Marty still Flippin his hair around like it's 1992. This 3 guitar sound with james' meaty bass to go with dirks amazing drumming is stunning!!!! Dave's vocals on point. This song means so much it's beyond heavy on all fronts
They should play this song more often - it fits Dave’s current vocal range well.
How cool would it be if Marty rejoined and they became a 5 piece! The sound is way great! (not just better) This is the line-up!
Sounds great even as a whole step (G vs A) down from the album version to accommodate Dave's deeper voice nowadays.
Dave sounds great, please bring marty back with kiko, such a heavy sound with 3 guitar players.

Fucking hell. Marty, Dave and Kiko at one place. I would piss myself.
This may be the flame needed get Marty back in the band, together with the current line-up to work on a new album?
Never say Never

Hmmmm......No!
@@stevedamien638 Unfortunately luxury does not beget good Metal art. I don't blame them though. They paid their dues.
@@IllumTheMessage No doubt.
I hear Marty is very successful in Japan and making lots of money. I don't think Mustaine is willing to pay him that much to get back in the band.
This for me was amazing watching all this guys playing together,Epic!
Thank you.

Great sound. It's the best live version I've ever heard
Best song off of Countdown. Sign Marty for touring from now on. Marty > *

Marty still looking like 15 yrs old mosher from 1988!
Kiko and Marty should put a band together. Don't you think?
Something like what Jason and Marty did with Cacophony

Who said he will rejoin Megadeth??? That's a stupid thing to say. We should be grateful he played with them again and put on such a great performance.
He's been in Japan for exactly 20 years. Math a bit off there
