I'd argue it's not that there's a good guy hidden in Homelander, it's that there is a VERY damaged child buried at his core. There might be a glimmer of potential for him to LEARN to be a good guy (and it is decidedly faint), but he's WAY too broken to do good right now. And the Butcher-Hughie thing is a little more complicated than "I don't like a weaker man having power over me" as much as "This guy is so close to the brother I lost and the guilt from that colours how I interact with him"... Such fun to have this back :)
When I heard her sing on Kipo I was shocked and enamored. I am so glad she was allowed to sing on the Boys. I believe her daydream was about her wanting the courage to regain her voice so she could enjoy something as basic as singing.
The ending with the song "Uptown Girl" just like the beginning is a great start to the season. I watched the season when it came out and I still can't get it out of my head!
I love that Homelander, because he has no peers, needs Butcher to be his confidante. His line "Where's the sport in that?" says so much. What motivates him? He's like the advanced kids in school who grows up bored with everything and burned out because there is no challenge to anything. He needs to be be important or he feels small, but he hates the interviews, the scripted "I'm human inside just like you" moments. Because he's not, and he resents lowering himself to our level. Great show. Gonna go watch 3-2. BRB.

That is amazing to know! If they were only using 50% of the source material I could only imagine how bonkers the comics have to be… I’m so happy we get a show like this
@@funnylilgalreacts Just to clarify- The show is managing to follow most of the major plot-points and themes of the comic (with one huge exception). However, by making a few changes to the narrative and the overall tone, the show manages to tell a more authentic- feeling and compelling story. To me, the biggest change is the tone. While the show definitely has some shocking depictions of violence & sexual content, it mostly serves the narrative. In the comic, it’s a lot more extreme, and a lot of it comes across as being done purely for shock value. Where the show feels a bit tongue in cheek, the comic feels mean-spirited.
I was looking forward to your reaction to this and you didn't disappoint. It was exactly what I was hoping it would be. Every time I watch one of your reactions I wish I had one of you to watch movies and hang out with. You're awesome and so much fun.
