I like the fact that the faces on these girls are so clean looking and there's no annoying face reveals with the colour reveals. Loved what you did to Millie's hair at the end, it looked so much better.
Thank you 😘 I also love that the faces don't have changes, because it often doesn't work very well... and I love that they are not wonk as hell 🤣 I wanted the Cutie Reveal Kira with undercut so badly, but I have seen so many hard wonky ones that I will stay away from her 😮💨
Hey 😆 Wonky means not symmetrical. The eyes are not where they should be or one is way more shifted to one side or is way bigger than the other one. The eyes usually have the most potential to be wonk, but sometimes even the lip screening can be way of 🫣 Honestly, when I restarted to collect Barbies in 2018, I barely even noticed wonk eye... but maybe a year later, it started to bug me quite a lot. I am not that critical, some shifting is fine since it is a totally mass produced item. But sometimes the screening on Barbies can be hideous 🤣 Not every collector has a problem with wonky eyes, especially when the whole doll as concept is more important for them. But I am always more interested in the face than the rest 😁
@@Endollphins ha ha, thank you. I'm always symmetry obsessed but in case of a wonky eye, I would convince myself that it's just "natural variation" 😆 I think the uneven plastic body with some shiny parts and others matte and occasional cracks and dots bother me more - it looks very cheap 😭
I totally get what you mean. Of course you could always mattening the shiny parts with Mr. Super Clear matt varnish. Everything would look smoother after that. This technique is often used by Blythe doll owners when they simply want to get rid of the very shiny face. And of course, for any kind of doll repaints. Another idea is, of course, hybriding a doll. Some companies make bodies that are more even. But the look of the complete doll is also very different then... deciding is never easy. That's why I tend to collect some of everything 😅
What beautiful braiding!!❤ Excellent video. I did still miss looking at the orange hair, does she also have thin rooting? I can't find an affordable Barbie with lush blonde or lighter hair and tan skin , and this rainbow 🌈 Barbie looks cute, maybe I should buy her I wonder, for switching bodies...
The rooting is pretty fine. It is not super thickly rooted but also not too thin. I only dislike the poly streaks 😅 In the video, I have shown her together with the green tie dye and the teal top yoga mtm... I still think the green tie dye is the better match. It is not 100% perfect but pretty close. Sadly, we still have none of the newer mtm girls here to compare 😑
@@Endollphins I see! I thought of buying one of the cutie reveal ones for better hair 🤔 But to be honest I want them all to be articulated and have rubbery skin - I saw they have those in Mattel's Instagram 😯 they bend knees and elbows and have articulated wrists... I want that! But I haven't found them anywhere 😳
I am still not sure that these are real. Don't you think that they use standard mtm bodies and simply photoshop the joints out? I know that A LOT of BJD collectors do that. I personally like the look of the joints, so I have never done it. I guess they don't photoshop the wrists because it is the hardest part for looking natural. But I could be completely wrong! Maybe they use silicon bodies for their posts. But those are not available for sale. The ones for action doll heads are so much different. I don't think there is one that would look good with a Barbie head. When you find out if they use Photoshop or simply different bodies, please let me know 😊
I think I found the answer 😆 Here is an Instagram reel that shows some bts material. In the very end, you can see that the joints on Brooklyns' legs are photoshoped for the final pictures 😅 instagram.com/reel/C2LARRuLyOU/?igsh=OG1ncWN5bHUycHJs
@@Endollphins wow! Thanks for getting back to me with this . I suspected this could be photoshopped but thought maybe I'm missing out on those nice bendable joints. Oh well, bummer! I think if I still want them in the future I might just buy My First Barbie 😅 sadly her waist doesn't turn sideways. I'm THAT demanding ha ha ... The Instagram post was very interesting, BTW, thank you for sharing
