The fact that you guys felt the song without knowing the lyrics prove what a powerful singer Sonu Nigam is. Good Indian singers can tell the story written in the lyrics through their voice which is an art in itself. Well its true that music transcends all boundaries, be it anything. My music guru used to teach me about words and their meaning, their weightage and how to sing them in a specific line. If one has mastered it, it will automatically touch other people's souls.

I was born and raised india. Living in Canada for a decade now. Deep love for Hindi music. Showed it to some of my friends here ... they didn’t get it. But finally, someone gets it. It’s so precious to see someone who doesn’t understand the words but their facial expressions, and body is telling the exact same story of what the artist (legend) is singing. That’s a real connection we humans look for. You two are super talented and are raising the vibration of this world without even knowing it. No wonder how over a million people watched it.

He is an absolute legend!!! A person who has given his last 28 years to Music industry!!! The most versatile singer of India who can sing all the genres with ease. He can sing in 54 different voices. And now people are comparing this legend with Arijit da. Arijit da is one of my most fevourite singers but my point is he is too junior to Sonu ji. Just as you can't compare Kumar Sanu with Kishore Kumar!! Even I have seen some stupid people who say that Sonu ji was jelous of Jubin Nautiyal. That's why he rejected him in X Factor. I mean seriousy??? Nothing to say!!!! When will it stop??? Indian People always be blind fans of some new singers and disrespect the legends!!!!

You can have many singers with talent who are pitch perfect, but no can add emotion to a song like Sonu does. He has inspired many current generation singers to pick up music. I remember him hosting a TV Show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa where Shreya Ghoshal was a contestant.
He even mentored not only her but also another of his(sonu's) fav singers arijit....

This song was a tribute to a friend of Sonu Mr. Ajay Jhingaran, who happened to be my neighbour and family friend as well. Being a vocalist myself, I can understand what Lalamain went through. The Indian Style is quite different from what west is used to and Indian Classical for South Asians is what Opera is to West. India and Pakistan comprise of huge Musical talents and legends but I bet in today's generation no one is as trained and melodious as Sonu Nigam. Even Arijit is nowhere near him when it comes to pure vocals. He was a star when he came on stage at the age of 10 and 30 years later he has trained himself to be at par with classical Maestros. Justin don't mind but some singers are natural and Lala is one of them. You need to train yourself and understand Indian music more before you react to music of other countries otherwise your reactions will seem hollow.
