@00columbia00 You do realise that Wicked is based on this musical, the original of which is over 70 years old....?? Why would they do anything to 'fit with' Wicked?!! It would have to be the other way round! Great Lloyd Webber tune here.
@mushypeas10 No, Wicked: The Musical is based off of The Book "Wicked: The Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of The West", which is based on the original Oz books.
@00columbia00 Well they intentionally made The Wicked Witch look different from Elphaba, seems to be like they did that with both witches just to point out that they are two different takes on oz.
It ended with “And there’s no place, as good as… home!” That was reused from the preview version. I prefer this lyric better. I also prefer to end this on a softer ending earlier like in the preview and reprise it in the finale with the full company for the big finish when Dorothy finds the the ruby slippers
beautiful song... but with galinda, you would have thought they would have her as a blonde, so it fits in with wicked, theyv done most things to fit with wicked, like the ozians costumes!
@Boonedaba LOL, I have heard less tenuous arguments during this year's Republican race than that one - and that's saying something. To say that Wicked is not based on the Oz musical - but one book to another defies the genre and is cloud cuckoo. I have no great attachment to either, but I do find the fascination around Wicked somewhat odd.
West End live is performed outside, where ALL the West End shows performs and hey put up a stage at Trafalgar Square, so you've got the crowd, the fountains and cars and buses all around
This song makes me cry all the time
Me too!
Emily Tierney has the voice of an angel. Big fan of her's!!
tim rice's lyrics are amazing and the way Emily performs it is beautiful xx

Wonderful voices!

This song should be included in all Andrew Lloyd Webber tribute concerts.
Beautiful song!

@Boonedaba Wicked is based on both the MGM movie The Wizard of Oz, and the Gregory Maguire book. It is a blend of the two.

My chorus sing this song at the concert it is good song
Danielle looks so good as Dorothy
@00columbia00 There's countless versions of Oz. Wicked is one, this musical is another. They don't need to be connected.
Yeah
My choir is singing this song
@00columbia00 Well they intentionally made The Wicked Witch look different from Elphaba, seems to be like they did that with both witches just to point out that they are two different takes on oz.
and Jemma Rix played her in 2017
There was a lyric change at the end wasnt there?x
Yes there was! The song actually ends with "You'll find that you're already home"

@00columbia00 yeah but the blue hair looks better with the costume
@mickeyfan5534 thats true i suppose :D xx
Anyone notice that the scarecrow messed up at 2:40

This has no connection to Wicked. If you've seen the movie, the people from Oz wear Green.
I'm doing this song in chorus and I'm saprano part 1 woooaaah
prefer it on stage☺
You do realize Wicked was made to go along with Wizard of oz right?....
Steals the a refrain from Abba's The Winner Takes it All!
ALW steels songs and claims them as his own. Nothing he's done is original. He shouldn't have a platform

so much back ground noise and interference ..how the hell does an actor perform with all that going on?...shame on the audience!

My best friend sang that song better and she's 12
