Sounds greatly improved, but I thought the flame thrower's flames looked better in the older version. I did like the added black smoke, but the actual flames, I preferred the old.
seems they started using BOOM Library's stock audio for the source material instead of their own in house *libraries (fixed that). that made a huge difference two. edit: some guns have the same sound like the m60, but most are new audio on top of the wwise engine (seems to be using wwise plugin convolution also) the old m79 used a blastwave fx m79 sound effect more or less unaltered, new m79 is from boom library assault weapons lib.
+Cam Kustka I hope you know that voice acting is generally implimented late in the development stage. You really think voice implementation should come before the game itself is smooth?
Exactly. There's a good reason for why voice acting comes very late in development. Why hire voice actors and pay them for voice lines that may need to be changed and/or removed later on in development? This way the devs can be more sure of what the voice lines should be, how many there need to be and whether they will be removed or not. It's a simple practice of "lets play it safe and not waste money"
I have been waiting so long for a good Vietnam war game to come out and my father will love this game specially since we do Vietnam war reenactments in events😎 this will be no doubt a master piece once it's ready
The claymore clacker is quickly depressed three times in succession to guarantee detonation. It's basically a mini-generator that produces the electrical impulse that reaches the fuse via a wire. You might be able to find video of the clacker in use.
They use a very different round/calibre . FN 5.7x28mm for FN P-90 (muzzle velocity 700-900 ms depending on round) .45 ACP (11.43x23mm) for M1911 (muzzle velocity ~300 ms) the most startling difference is in projectile mass; the .45 round weighs up to 10 times as much as the FN round.
With the new beta round I went from being kinda disappointed to being extremely hyped. I guess I'm used to betas being used by devs as more of a demo. Really nice to see the game improve so much wave to wave. I think it'll be great.
Minor nitpick- the A1 rear sight aperture does not have a larger 'ghost ring' aperture, only a short-range and long-range aperture in the same size with different elevation settings. The A2 rear sight aperture, which first showed up in the early 1980s, introduced the ghost ring aperture (not counting the various Colt SMGs). Now, I would not be surprised if troops drilled out one of the apertures in the field for close-quarters fighting, but the in-game portrayal is incorrect for the rifle as-issued.
I'm fairly sure that's a minor "sacrifice" of authenticity to compensate for how things work when looking at a monitor compared to when using sights in real life with real eyes.
In a gaming world trying to get back to actual teamplay this game is a godsend. I've seen such a huge increase in players from tons of other games that have never played any of the series before and its awesome. The immersion factor of the game itself is only added to by teamwork and communication.
The reverb is a bit weird. Sounds like he's in a canyon or between buildings. On an open field like that, there would aeither be a much more delayed echo or the reverb would just drown in the distance, which would sound like the absence of reverb.
Wow, those Thumper rounds are louder than artillery barrages in RO2! Shame really. So many sounds are somewhat muted in that game. The only thing I would say is make the bolt release on the M16 louder. It is very audible IRL.
I also think there should be some audible 'sproing' when firing the M16. The buffer spring is loud as hell when shooting one, even when it's been greased.
Having tested the gun versus the other shotgun variants for the Americans, I actually found it to be one of the most accurate. The other being the regular buckshot shotgun, and a duckbill shotgun. The stake out seems to hit right on target on the off center sights, and even with a more reliable hit rate. However that may still be subject to change considering it's still in closed beta, and even after release, nerfs and buffs may apply. But right now it's surprisingly accurate.
Good sounds though I really dislike how the sounds just cut off, especially with the shotguns you can hear the echo just suddenly stop without fading out properly. Needs some adjustement.
The sounds seem the be louder and also last a bit longer which makes the game more chaotic as you hear sounds coming from everywhere. I personally really like that, but I think that will make it even harder for beginners to get into the game. At least they limited the weapons to the faction they belong to, otherwise that would probably skyrocket the teamkill rate.
1911 animations need some love. but allot of the other animations look good. I do like how it takes time to actually reload. the time you take your mag out is fast yet given time when the person reaches out for a new one. I like that.
If they could mix the old and new M16A1 sounds, synchronizing them at the impulse, ditching the reverb from the new sound except in built up environments. that would be very close. Not sure if the 3-prong flashhider made the tuning fork sound, but you need to hear the buffer + spring action in the stock. Old sound was good. Just lacked volume and bass.
The M202 is based on the prototype XM191 napalm rocket launcher that saw extensive testing in the Vietnam War.They are basically the same gun with minor upgrades on M202. guns.wikia.com/wiki/XM191_rocket_launcher
Wow. Now, with the first sound, I was going to remark it isn't bad for a game that's not AAA, but the new sound (So far only looked at the M16A1, my God man!! I've never seen a game make weapons sound as powerful as they are, but this one hit the FUCKING MARK!!!
damn.. there should be. I thinks it's a real bummer so many games only focus on multiplayer nowadays. All singleplayer campaigns or either nonexistend or exceptionaly short. I really long for the old days where great games like Vietcong had a good sized singleplayer game and then some expansionpack wich had even more good sized singleplayer campaigns. If RS2 would have had one, it would have been a blast. Preferably Vietcong style. Man I love that game.
The game feels quite a bit different from Red Orchestra. Also yeah, the game isn't finished so it doesn't have all of it's assets. If it did then it would be finished :I

i fucking love the thumping bullet casing sounds after the m14 and grease gun shots
Definitely sounds better. Now I just hope they gonna add voice overs and stuff to bring the game more alive.
And it has taken these morons over three years to implement voices. Well done on the 'beta' (more like alpha).
+Cam Kustka
I hope you know that voice acting is generally implimented late in the development stage.

Shotgun sounds get cut off just a bit too soon, you can hear the sfx end too abruptly.
New sound is x100 better
the reverb cutoff on some of the guns is too short.
Nicholas Howatson Not wrong
Nicolas Howatson Definitely noticed this on the M1911
Much more realistic gun sound.
Wow, it is like a whole new geme
Because it is?
On what book says 'Because it is?' classifies someone a twat
lol I like you no homo
I will, thanks mate
lol the graphics are better and more optimized tho
10/10 Performance
The flamethrower animations are really cool.
Señor Juan too much of bloom imo
i just love how the scopes look
I have been waiting so long for a good Vietnam war game to come out and my father will love this game specially since we do Vietnam war reenactments in events😎 this will be no doubt a master piece once it's ready
0:10 bullshit distance effect from red orchestra is still here, good work devs!
that new grenade launcher sound is fucking amazing, imagine hearing that from a distance knowing an explosion might happen right next to you. amazing
The claymore clacker is quickly depressed three times in succession to guarantee detonation. It's basically a mini-generator that produces the electrical impulse that reaches the fuse via a wire. You might be able to find video of the clacker in use.
the m1911 sound just like p90 in csgo

FN 5.7x28mm for FN P-90 (muzzle velocity 700-900 ms depending on round)
.45 ACP (11.43x23mm) for M1911 (muzzle velocity ~300 ms)
the most startling difference is in projectile mass; the .45 round weighs up to 10 times as much as the FN round.
Shrekt
I'm pretty sure he is talking about CS:GO and not real life P90.
And if you have played CSGO you know that the sounds actually are very similar as the OT said.
Woah dude, chill with the ballistics, he was just saying it sounds similar.
graphics still kind of bother me but the sounds are a lot better. the 1911 needs more sound work
I think he set them to low since he wanted lagfree recordings. If you check other's people videos of RS2 it looks fine graphically.
Anthony Mayor bothered by graphics? Are you 12?
Clone Trooper no are you? I like good graphics. what does my age have to do with this?
Anthony Mayor so, you prefer fancy graphics over good gameplay?
Clone Trooper I like both. it shouldn't be a give or take.
With the new beta round I went from being kinda disappointed to being extremely hyped. I guess I'm used to betas being used by devs as more of a demo. Really nice to see the game improve so much wave to wave. I think it'll be great.

Headframe Hunters yeah thats m16a2 sight
I'm fairly sure that's a minor "sacrifice" of authenticity to compensate for how things work when looking at a monitor compared to when using sights in real life with real eyes.
they sound MUCH better now. hat tip to the devs for improving the realism of the audio. Really looking forward to this game!
In a gaming world trying to get back to actual teamplay this game is a godsend. I've seen such a huge increase in players from tons of other games that have never played any of the series before and its awesome. The immersion factor of the game itself is only added to by teamwork and communication.
finally feels like your holding an explosion in your hands and not all faked up like alot of games just to make it more fun
The reverb is a bit weird. Sounds like he's in a canyon or between buildings. On an open field like that, there would aeither be a much more delayed echo or the reverb would just drown in the distance, which would sound like the absence of reverb.

I like how the guns sound much heavier now, as if you can hear the force they have.
You just earnes your 100th sub
New sounds are spot on!
Good sounds though I really dislike how the sounds just cut off, especially with the shotguns you can hear the echo just suddenly stop without fading out properly. Needs some adjustement.
is it just me or does this game got a super awkward sharpness filter applied to it?
the old m60 just didnt feel like a m60
Why are there buildings within Line-of-sight downrange on a firing range?
Now, someone correct me if I'm wrong here but, did the M79 GL have shotgun shell ammo? I swear that it does. I can't remember though.
Some of the reload sounds only work on the right speaker.
Old sounds are like "meh, generic sounds" and new ones "oh hell yeah, so real!"
The fire and explosion particle effects looked much better before.
doesent the m14 have full auto?
Why are the sound effects between the M14 and XM21 different? It's the same gun!
SOME FOLKS ARE BORN
Happy Fayce SILVER SPOON IN HAND
I hope you guys know that song is actually anti-war and meant to criticize the American involvement in Vietnam.
Ivan Lee OOOOOOOOOH THE RED WHITE N'BLUE
Happy Fayce I guess you already know
AND WHEN THE BAND PLAYS "HAAAILLL TO THE CHIEF"
Artyom Liu Thanks for ruining the thread.
yea anything that shoots 5.56 doesn't sound like that. NEeds to sound piercing, higher pitched.
1911 animations need some love. but allot of the other animations look good. I do like how it takes time to actually reload. the time you take your mag out is fast yet given time when the person reaches out for a new one. I like that.

isnt the old m1911, the same sound they use in csgo for the five seven?
M16A1 sounds like its in a tunnel and the M14 sounds like your underwater
if i am correct, doesn't the m37 have slam fire?
Awesome video. Subscribed.
why does single shot an automatic sound differently??
Why does semi sound different than full auto on the m16
This flamethrower sounds like "Queen-We will rock you" :D
Hello is there a firing range to test weapons in this game ?
The m16 sound was very clearly recorded in an indoor shooting range which fucks it over
How is it compared to Arma 3 concerning the gameplay's realism ??
what bothers me is that some sounds are the same as in killing floor 2
The new sounds are definitely better. They sound punchier. :D It seems they improved the recoil too.
They should add m202 flash rocket launcher which is identified by vietnam war era.
The M202 is based on the prototype XM191 napalm rocket launcher that saw extensive testing in the Vietnam War.They are basically the same gun with minor upgrades on M202.
guns.wikia.com/wiki/XM191_rocket_launcher
NICE! Hopefully they can release it soon😂 can't wait
6:31 this was the most unrealistic sound i've heared in my life
0:47 hey calm down man, you just missed one time
when does the new one come out
Wow. Now, with the first sound, I was going to remark it isn't bad for a game that's not AAA, but the new sound (So far only looked at the M16A1, my God man!! I've never seen a game make weapons sound as powerful as they are, but this one hit the FUCKING MARK!!!
Suit One Play Insurgency, the guns sound pretty good in this game but Insurgency's guns sound real enough to trigger PTSD. (devs words, not mine)
I have insurgency, I love the sounds in that game two. These have some more power in them. The sounds like this are present in far cry 4 as well.
So, why isn't the m14 automatic?
The Army disabled the selector switch since the M14 is completely uncontrollable in full-auto.
Now for Rising Storm 3: Korea. Am I right or am I right people?
M79 sounds so good now omg
why isn't the m14 full auto? in real life it's select fire irl.
But the full auto ones have the "shoulder thing that goes up".
The vietnam war era m14s had the selector removed
i really liked the metallic clang of the old m16 tho
Why do we have 3 shotguns? If you needed more guns, you should've added an XM-177/Car-15 and a M1A1 Thompson or a M1903.
Hell, M1/M2 carbines were heavily used in SEA, and Garands showed up early on and with ARVNs.
Sounds like an actual gun!
why do the iron sights change for the m16a1 mid clip xD
You can adjust sights and toggle the range of the weapon in the game
The m16 has two iron sight options that you can flip
Uhhhh, what new sounds?
Sounds better than CoD's foley. Freaking automatic stapler guns.
And better than fortnite
the old grease gun sounds supressed
did no one serously notice that the video is 9:11 long
that new Ithaca sounds sooo meaty
Still needs work on pump action sound of shotguns. Sounds like what I would imagine a plastic play shotgun would sound.
Wow game looks waaay better too, sweet.
Gunshot sounds are spot on but I think the reloading and slide sounds need tweaking.
Does anybody know if there will be a singleplayer with a story-ish gameplay this time??
spacedigger i do not think so, i'm in the closed beta and there is no menu option for it
seapuppy118 Beta's tend to be multiplayer only, RO2 had a story-ish mode tho, but idk
Skirmisher_Kal i know but there isn't even an option in the menu for it
damn.. there should be.
Gotta love the sound of that m1911.
This game looks so awesome!
when is the game coming out ,it seems like it keeps getting pushed back
w1037 30th April 2017
the grenade LOVE THIS SOUND
Still no bullet crack
3D модели оружия из 1757 года?
Is it me or is the gun in old version sounds better
RO RS 2 will wipe the floor with every shooter out there!
the new thumper tho
how much this game 10$ ?
When will it be availabllllllllllllllllllle? :'(
Colonel Sanders 30th April
When is it coming out???
Early 2017 is all that is disclosed. Release date may be subject to change however. However they are aiming for Q1.
I know it's 20 rounds, but that looks like a fucking 10 round mag found in a California AR-15. Dufuq? lol
[it ain't me intensifies]
The M14 needs to sound more intimidating
And now they kinda screwed on the latest sound update, they killed it...
Need to add bigger echos
Xm21 is a m14 with a scope
Some are still recycled sounds from KF2
LOL I just realised, the m1911 sounds like the p90 in cs go :D
do the also have one with the voices......? and new animations ........ probably not its just a reskinned version of Red orchestra 2
Or those things are placeholders, if you even did a little bit of research you would know that mate
The game feels quite a bit different from Red Orchestra. Also yeah, the game isn't finished so it doesn't have all of it's assets. If it did then it would be finished :I
congrats
Wish they could do the same to the voice lines
much better than battlefield gun sound
