Fixed my inlet hose thanks to your help. The screw-in cap on the new pipe set was not tight, so I used the old one which worked like a charm.

So i bought a portable washing machine and the utility room faucet for the washer doesn't have that piece on it, instead it looks just like an outdoor faucet before you connect a garden hose. I cannot connect my washing machine hose to the faucet because of this. Do i need an adapter for the faucet, or one for the hose, or a totally different hose, and if so, any suggestions on how to get the right thing the first time so i dont have to run back and forth to the hardware store?

You might have to modify your kitchen tap to accommodate the appropriate connectors. But I feel its easier to modify the piping below to make a T joint where you can attach another water outlet to supply water to the machine I have a video showing how to install a counter top dishwasher by extending the undersink piping
