Who the hell are the two people who marked this video "dislike." Justin provides this great instruction free, has great video and close-ups, and excellent explanations. What is there to dislike??? Keep up the great work, Justin!
My kid brother,Kenny,..has just bought another guitar !. Being a bit of a rocker,..he'll love Justin's 12 - bar blues chord techniques . ROCK ON..,KEN ! ! !
Alternate picking is smoother... reminds me... Beach Boys... "....I wish they all could be California, I wish they all could be California, I wish they all could be California girls......" ^_^
Justin can you please please please do a lesson on the Red Hot Chili Peppers B-side "Bob"? to anyone reading this who hasn't heard please go listen to it, i think the guitar is beautiful.
In a lot of interviews a whole bunch of great guitarists (Lemmy and Dan Auerback) have said upstrokes are more percussive, they are better for upbeat dance music
Hello! In the last part (where Justin plays the strumming-like alternate picking version), he mutes the middle triplet so it would sound like chunka chunka. I can play this style with muted middle note when I'm strumming down only but find it very hard when my strumming hand goes up side. Any suggestions for muting?
@hrabia99332 always keep them in ur guitar case, lying around your room, in ur mouth and in your wallet. I always have picks close by or in my wallet or in my mouth. They're dirt cheap so it doesn't matter if you're always buying more

Hey Justin, thanks for your youtube lessons. You are a brilliant teacher, nobody ever taught me a guitar so easily. Thanks, again.
The irony of the ad coming on telling us you can't learn guitar from TH-cam videos...YES YOU CAN!
"They call me the Breeze" sounds pretty cool with alternate picking.
Thank you so much for these videos, I cant afford lessons and so this is amazing
Thank you Justin! You really explained this lesson well and have "unlocked" some of the mystery of playing the Blues!
Watching this in HD this morning - made my day!

Cool lesson I like how u chopped and changed where u played that, like dwn at the 12th was a cool touch. Great lesson.
Yup, nice touch, made me realise thats a useful use of a barre chord😎
In a lot of interviews a whole bunch of great guitarists (Lemmy and Dan Auerback) have said upstrokes are more percussive, they are better for upbeat dance music
GREAT lesson Justin! LOVE this kind of stuff but it kills my wrist! LOL! Thanks a pantload!
@smp156 I forked out for an American Standard Tele a couple of years ago. Great guitar. Love it!
just awesome!!!!!!!!!
I love when he says "chunka" its soooo smooth XP
Nice class again Justin. Cheerz :D
thank you Justin
hey justin whats your favourite guitar
@riciy A Fender Made In Mexico model, basically the same as the American version with a few changes. Still a great guitar!
Thanks for this lesson! :))
You been scribbling on your right hand as well now Justin, when you going do another gig? We had such a good time at the last one Bush Hall.
Jazz iii are the best!
Is that a Dunlop Jazz III you're using? I just discovered how great they sound and how precise can you play with them
Excellent
Hi Justin!! What pick u use????
any single thing u play sounds perfectly, i guess it will sound perfectly even if ur guitar is not tuned// damn i want to play like that :(
Thanks, can this riff be played differently without the pinky on another part of the neck
Interesting titbit about the roots all on low E😎
@davidguit1 dunlop jazz iii, try them out they are my favorite picks.
Your backing track for this lesson is played straight right? Chuck Berry sound was his straight 12 bar, clashing with backing band's 12 bar shuffle ;)
Well, this is the second lesson in the blues series from his website, go over and check the first lesson where he shows you all the fingerstuff
thanks mate
@smp156 Get a MIM model. I have a 2006 Tele and LOVE IT!
thx great
every time i hear a telecaster, i want one more and more
i love fender...........................
good video
That upstroke style is to emphasise the bottom note being played.
@lovelostlover It's a circuit diagram of a classic amp I think :)

You are also moving on to the STATUS QUO type of music :-)
little finger ? cant figure which one your using?
@Tommyr whats MIM?
Justin, around 7:00 when you strum faster, there is something in between chord switch. What is it? thanks
Do you mind me asking what's that written on your inner forearm? I can't help obsessing over what it says all throughout the video. Sorry.
Koyuki from Mongolian Chop Squad has that same telecaster.
Dunlop Jazz III Picks\,,/
What's that bluffs shuffle u played between , 7:48-7:50
@davidguit1
Looks like a jazz III.
ur sofa is custom shop?
@TheMercful nice choice ;-D
i have a question
HOW TO NOT LOOSE MY PICKS !?
he twittered, i came!
Right at 7:39-7:40 what blues shuffle is that please I been looking snd don't know what it's called
It's just a typical blues shuffle, if you look at blues shuffles it should pop up somewhere!
WHAT IS THE CHORDS? I'M NOT SEE!
Please Justin :( rock please :)
did not really get how he mutes higher strings in strumming - is it first finger?
Yes. He mentions that in the previous video lesson. [BL-201]
