Honestly, the claw coming out during that childbirth scene is forever etched into my brain
Happy June 6 😈
I swear my uterus tried to leave my body when I saw this! What an amazing surprise this movie was
I have no uterus but same here😂
That scene when she gets out of the car is clearly inspired by Possession.
I think the directors even said that
@@rue...whenwasthis Glad they are spreading the word.
Nell Tiger Free is just that bitch fr. Her acting in this movie and the series Servant is incredible. Glad she’s finally getting some well deserved recognition. Also this is definitely one my favorite prequels I’ve ever watched. Might be my favorite film this year so far.
THE SERVANT! Thank you!!! I could have googled it but I was trying to figure it out as I was sure it’d come to me. God, it took me soooo long to figure out whether Leanne was friend or foe or neither in that show. The female characters were so polarising, both strong as hell and also damaged as fk but also potentially very dangerous, whilst the male characters were largely so benign and unfit for duty. Not talking about “cult members”, just those in the household. I loved the show so much.
She's princess Myrcella Baratheon.
@@daniellemaines4874 Lol you’re welcome! Yes I agree Servant is fantastic and also very underrated. Everyone in it had excellent acting as well.
@@samanthakiu4055 I did know that one but I knew I’d seen her as an older teen in something. And it was doing my head in.
When the original score from 1976 blasted during Damien's birth I got chills in the theater. It was glorious!
The name Scianna for the mutant baby attempts is also a callback to 1976. In the original, it is the made-up name on the graves where they find the jackal's skeleton and the murdered Thorn infant.
@@user-os3oe3bi8j Scianna is "Latin" for "Shadow" hence Maria Scianna means "Mary of Shadow" and Bambino Scianna means "Child of Shadow" referring to the fact their lives and identities were considered interchangeable with another female or baby for the dark ritual.
@@user-os3oe3bi8j All the young nuns groomed to be the mother of the Antichrist being called "Scianna" essentially has the meaning. The older nuns and corrupted clergy considered them entirely interchangeable.
I was like "This movie is cool, it's only missing the music" and was immediately hit by that epic choir
It’s settled…never having kids 😂 Don’t get me started on the birth scenes 😳 She killed that scene after the wreck 🔥 The sound design was on point, left me unsettled throughout. The imagery & visuals were great. Kinda saw the twist coming but still really enjoyed it. Wonderful reaction guys! 🖤
Was nice to see them
Bring back that whole your okay now but something’s coming feeling , I feel they did a great job seeming they changed the lore somewhat , so they can make another one kinda showing even more if they want - always been a fan of omen movies even the not so good ones but great acting refreshing
@@DarrellDJP84 Yes they definitely channeled the ominous vibe of the original & still kept it interesting & added to the lore. I’d absolutely be interested if they expanded more on the ending in another movie down the road!
@@RawrxBexJealous exactly , expanded on the few limited ways they could and not to much just enough good stuff :) have a great weekend
@@DarrellDJP84 Thanks! Enjoy yours too 🙃
If you want more of Ralph Ineson's booming, deep voice, might I suggest watching The VVitch
He's going to be voicing Galactus and I can't wait.
I love how there was no reason for Charles Dance to be in this for 2 minutes, but he was still like yeah I got you! 😂
Two Lannisters in the same film
Seeing this in an empty theater with just my friend was an awesome experience! Glad to see y'all got to watch it!
OMG that sounds fun,I want to do it too but just alone without friends, kinda scared thought 😭😭
People don't watch good movies anymore
As a huge fan of the original, I went into this with zero expectations and I absolutely loved it. The first five minutes alone made me realise that the creators were also massive fans of the original as it completely set the same tone so after that I was able to just relax and enjoy the film. Even the retconning of Damien’s parentage didn’t bother me in the slightest as narratively it actually makes a lot more sense. This is absolutely my favourite film of the year, possibly decade, maybe millennia. I could be just excited cos I just watched it two days ago though.
Seeing all the broken glass falling in slow motion with the score, it immediately transported me back to the original.
@@PassTheMarmalade1957 Absolutely, you just knew something totally horrific was going to happen. It was so ominous from the get go. And what a wonderful five minute usage of Charles Dance. That brain damaged smile at the end is forever going to be etched in my mind.
With the context of this movie, I like to think Brennan lied about which parent the Jackal was to keep Thorn from getting mixed up with Margaret and possibly putting her in danger.
@@Pentarax That would certainly make sense. It does seem he wants to protect her. I just read his back story on The Omen Wiki page and he was not a good dude. He wasn’t born with the mark, he developed it through his actions. Obviously I need to read the book.
I am also a huge fan of the original, and I thought the first trailer was so good, but I still didn’t have any expectations. I watched this the day it hit Hulu and watched it twice in a day. I absolutely love this movie.
Father Brennan's actor is the dad from The Witch
Thank you! I thought so but I didn't have time to look it up and then I forgot about it. 😂
@@user-nt8lq4rp3z lol, no prob
He's also Captain Volodymyr in The Northman, he's the one rowing away Anya Taylor Joy's character to safety.
He can also be found in the Chernobyl miniseries and the last three Harry Potter films 😁
His voice is insane, he needs to do audiobooks or something
Did they... pay homage to 'Possession' (1981)......... because Sam Neill is in it? LOL! it's full circle.
Well yes!
Oh I didn’t even think about that, it makes sense!
Sam Neill played adult Damien in The Omen 3.
Didn't even think that far, I just lost my shit because a mainstream horror film acknowledged Possession lmao
I'll never forget how audibly disturbed the audience was during that birth scene. We were NOT READY. This reminded me so much of the like really disturbing horror films of the 70s like Possession or Don't Look Now.
4:29 I’d know that deep, reverberating, bass voice anywhere- “corruption, thou art my father”. That’s the dad from The Witch! He looks so different without the beard. But there’s no mistaking that incredible voice.
I think you’ll find that’s, first and foremost, Chris Finch.
@@daniellemaines4874 mmm, ok 😂
@@rebeccahopkins9522 From The Office Uk.
Now you gotta watch 'Possession' 1981
That scene with Isabelle Adjani is ICONIC
and the rosamund pike version too
Yesss
Sam Neill described Possession as the most extreme film he has ever made.
This had no buisness being this well made.
I literally watched this yesterday night, her being a “brave girl” and helping the church bring people back to faith having different meanings after watching it back. Loved this movie
YOU HAVE TO WATCH SERVANT! The main actress has a knack for acting like the creepiest and mysterious person ever, such eeriness about her, she is amazing.
Her, lea seydoux, and Mia goth all got a weird kinda unsettling energy about them
You have GOT to watch The VVitch next!! The guy that played Father Bennett is one of the main characters, it’s so good!! I would suggest turning on subtitles during that movie though cuz the olde English can be hard to understand sometimes lol
Watching this in theaters was absolutely amazing. The scene that made everyone scream the loudest was when she comes out of the dark and keeps coming slowly. That scene was enough to make me hide behind my hands lmao
The guy who plays Father Brennan has such a unique voice that he could narrate the phone book and sound sinister. Hence why he was in Diablo 4, as effectively the lore master and recently cast as Galactus in the MCU.
This was such an amazing prequel I rolled my eyes when it was first announced bc I was like why. Then I watched it which made me feel disturbed and loved it. The hand coming out of the pregnant woman made my mouth drop. The only things I didn’t like about the movie is the father was the jackal which isn’t fitting in the continuity but oh well , it dragged a little bit at the beginning, and the fact the movie tries to act like the main character being Damian’s mom was this shocking twist when it felt pretty obvious. Other than those things loved this movie sm one of my favorites of the year that surprised me at how good it was. It truly felt like a movie from the 70’s. They weren’t afraid to go there to shock the audiences which I appreciate.
You two *need* to watch Possession (1981), it's like a sister-film to this one. Her water-breaking scene is directly from that film.
The best prequel ever!
Totally agree!!!
React to the film: MAY THE DEVIL TAKE YOU (2018), this film, which is basically an EVIL DEAD from Indonesia, has sinister and surprising moments, it's worth checking out.
I literally walked into this movie not even knowing what it was or that it had just came out or anything really and by the end I felt like I'd been through the fucking ringer like GOD this movie is good!
12:47 "very brave" sounds like something she would say because she just put the girl through something awful even if she doesn't remember.
This was such a great movie I loved it! Also I felt the same way about Father Brennens voice too Sergio😂
The ending gave me chills even though I knew what’s to come for the omen but damn this movie will forever stick with me. That birth scene with the hand coming out will haunt me for quite a bit 🫠😅
Mildly heartwarming theory; Brennan lied to Thorn about who the Jackal was to keep Margaret safe. As we saw here, it was the father, but in the original, he said it was a mother. I think he was trying to keep Thorn from going anywhere near Margaret out of a sense of protection.

The priest dresses like a final boss 💀
Great reaction to a great film!
If you guys haven’t done rosemary’s baby I really recommend it!!! This film pulls a lot from that film!
Now the Omen 2 😊
So the priest's name with the sexy deep voice is Ralph Ineson and he voiced Cid in Final Fantasy 16 as well
I just watched this one yesterday, and enjoyed it more watching it again with you! The actor with the deep voice is Ralph Ineson. He was in “The Witch”, which you should also watch!
You really should see the Omen 2 & 3 I personally like them both
Just watched this last night and I couldn't believe how good this movie was! It was so damn good, I wanted more! lol. The acting in this movie was top notch, too.
Ahhh!! The Monty Python quote! Cody! 😂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Omg just finished done watching this, I'm a horror movie fan and I haven't enjoyed a movie like this in a whiiiile, I really loved it! Sorry haven't even seen your reaction and commented, but I'm sure I'll love it 😂 ❤❤
This movie, Prometheus, SAW X, Anabelle Creation and Ouija : Origin of Evil are the best horror prequels for me🙌
I'm sorry but Margaret holding Paolo's top half was such a Naked Gun moment.
Literally just watched this lastnight! I’m excited 😂
Honestly this movie was sooo fucking good!! so epic in the cinema, I need the 4k physical media like right now!! and the way it ended like a damn Avengers movie, bring on The OCU!
I knew this was going to be a fun reaction because my partner and I recently saw this movie and loved it. What a good piece of horror cinema. The tie-ins to the original material were great, and I'm sure there will be more movies continuing the story--- even if they are "sidebar" tales that happened during Damien's childhood and entrance into maturity. This director and writer and cinematographer were so good! I mean, making the viewer highly unsettled just by showing Margaret's clothes hanging on a wall in the background?? Awesome.
When Jerry Goldsmith's music from '76 comes into this film, I got chills. It was perfection to use that theme, a score which won him an Oscar. The choir is so dramatic and sweeping in its power. Ooh, and the first few Latin words we hear translate to "We drink the blood, we eat the body". Jerry wanted to take the Catholic mass and turn it aorund into something unholy. He succeeded, 100%. Here is a video of the theme being performed by an orchestra for Mr. Goldmsith's 80th birthday celebration in 2009:

I just finished watching this as well, about a half hour agao. Watching your reactions right now. The original movie and the second one terrified me, but this one totally freaked me out. I'm so glad I decided to watch this in broad daylight. Whew!
35:10 hearing this song again in theaters made me geek out in theater!
Hands down one of the best horror movies of 2024 so far! Glad you two finally watched it👏👏
Glad to see your'e reaction😍 now I gotta see this by myself😍
27:33 you guys included something you might not have meant to include 😅😭 i think most people (including me) didnt catch it until rewatching
It looks like the designer was inspired by Bad Dragon
YES! Just watched this over the weekend and went to find reactions but it was too early. 😂 So glad you guys have one up!!! This was disturbing. 😂😅
I'm Brazilian and I love this channel ❤
Got to see this in theater that hand coming out of the whoha was wild
The nun saying ay head me laughing 🤣🤣🤣 it sounded like a dog when you accidentally step on its paw 💀
The one at 26:37 looks like Joe Pesci wearing a habit
watching the reaction has let me see things i missed or clocked but didn't get too deep in to.
It was one of the best prequels ever made in cinema and horror
Hey Sergio and Cody. I just wanna say that you guys are my comfort TH-camrs. Whenever I feel down, watching you 2 watch horror films cheers me up so much.
Keep up the work. Lots of love a fan from Scotland.
P.s. I highly recommend you watch a horror film called Final Prayer. In the UK it's called The Borderlands. It's a found footage horror film that came out 10 years ago and it's an absolute masterpiece.
Omg the scene of the car crash was so traumatic . That scene was so good and her acting was unbelievable 😮
I really enjoyed this movie and I was SHOCKED what they were teasing at the end. Please check out Damien: Omen II and Omen III: The Final Conflict! They're both excellent! In fact, I personally think Omen II is the best one...
Awesome reaction as always 💗
I’m still obsessing over this movie! Absolutely loved it! 🖤
I loooved the reaction guys! The whole water breaking scene was so disturbing!! Loved this movie I was truly not expecting it to be that good
You guys NEED to react to the Japanese film Pulse (2001)! This film borrows from Pulse what I think is the scariest scene ever put to screen, lol.
I watched this a few days ago not expecting a lot, but i really blown away by how good it was.
17:40 Missed opportunity for a sponsored product mention. 😈 I want those earphones now!
I have never seen a more effective needle drop in a horror movie than when the original Omen score started playing when Damian was revealed.
Watche this movie last night and I was very surprised by how good it was anr enjoyedi Love the reaction your thoughts were very similar to mine. Even though it was obvious that Margaret was going to be the mother.Damien , they still kept us somehow guessing
hehe , fun reaction.. i liked the movie a lot, many beautiful shot scenes, and the main actress delivered great acting
My favorite movie of the year & one of the best horror prequels! So happy I got to see this in theaters. It blew me away.
omg i have been waiting for your guys' reaction to this!! 🥰
Nell Tiger Free is also amazing in servant, I wish you can also react to that series its so good!
I recommend yall 3 movie to watch
Tarot-for the amount of jumpscare
Missing-for the insane plot twist
In a violent nature- for the gore
What good prequel this was omg
I absolutely believe that Luz is Ms. Baylock. Especially with that shot at the end of her being present at the hospital with the Thorns.
I saw this in theaters it was so done so well, has the feels of a 70s horror, definitely had the pace as well. Overall phenomenal job
I went in assuming that it was her since the poster of the 1976 Omen is the boy and this poster has Nell on the front. It also reminded me of Immaculate and I've seen Nell in Servant so was expecting it from that but still didn't take away from the movie. Absolutely solid prequel!
Excited to see this reaction!
12:16 reminds me of Caravaggio's Medusa
The Medusa hair repeats at 27:05. In Omen II, Damien's identity is confirmed when someone sees an ancient mural of the Antichrist as a child with snakes for hair-- and Damien's face. Look up "Yigael's Wall"
Ahhhh yes Charles Dance and that guy with that recognizable voice, Both amazing actors that I know of just cuz game of thrones and other sorts.
Hey guys if you wanna watch a great thriller with kids as the focus 'The Good Son' is amazing.
You should also watch the sequels to the original: _Damien: Omen II, The Final Conflict_ and _Omen IV: Awakening_ as well as the 2006 remake. There's also the TV series _Damien_ from 2016 which is an alternate sequel to the original.
Immaculate ain’t got shit on this movie 💀
This movie was so good and I'm glad you reacted to it! But sheesh, the scene you had to blur out, the one Sergio asked how you could show on TH-cam? That was too much! That was much too much! That had me questioning my life choices (deciding to watch this movie) when I saw it in the theater lol.
I am such a huge fan of your guys, so happy I found your channel! I loved your Midnight Mass reaction I would LOVE if you guys reacted to Haunting of Hill House! ❤ thank you both! ❤❤❤
The “Beyoncé fan” comment sent me 😂😂😂 and Nell Tiger Free is my absolute favorite horror actor
I went to the cinema to see it. I loved it!
The lead actress deserves an oscar nod. Argue with the wall
Love it also first time seeing it in theaters love scary movies also I seen all of them Damien The Omen 2
The Omen III: The Final Conflict
The Omen 4 The Awakening
I look forward to watching the prequel and og. I recommend possession 1983 it's a wild ride.
3:34 for some reason this “diabolically” sent me😂😂
Nell Tiger Free: she was Myrcella Lannister in Game of Thrones, Leanne in the TV show Servant (amazing) and now she is the mother of the AntiChrist, I LOVE HER
its great to hear yalls sirens song once more! - < excited for the next one! :D
Another movie you would enjoy, if you haven't seen it yet, is "Legion" with Dennis Quaid from 2010.
It's quite impressive to make a good/great prequel because the audience already knows the end/outcome so that takes away some of the possible draw
I saw this movie and I thought it was okay. I was hoping (like you guys) that it was about the priest that had the mark and was killed by the lightening rod in The Omen. Instead, they have Damien's mother be a nun in training and not a jackal, veering away from the source material. I won't be watching it again. With that being said, I love you guys. Keep doing what you are doing.
I had low expectations. And i avoided any trailers or spoilers.I was just hoping it would have a slow-burn pace, and suspenseful vibe like the original. I was really impressed
Great reaction! I really enjoyed watching you guys! I had to check this movie out because of the young actor. I just seen her in television series called “The Servant” She was amazing, along with the actor that plays older Van, in the series “Yellow Jackets “
Just caught this movie 2 days ago. Hopefully you loved it as much as i did. And are able to see the similarities of another movie i know you've seen. 😁
I loved this movie. *THE ACTING!*
I absolutely loved this film an excellent prequel to the original omen
I watched it a long time ago but I think the twin sister could be related to the TV movie Omen IV: The Awakening.
I'm going to the escape room in Vegas. All of them. Both it saw and Blair witch.
This was an excellent prequel!
It’s so hard to make such a great prequel or sequel for a classic movie after almost 50 years
The first omen Did it so well
