It's long range effectiveness was used in siege and base defense. Norris Packard made it look easy when taking all three units out against a veteran team, and even then it cost him his life.
A unit focused on artillery and indirect fire does not need to be very mobile. The issue here is they are in an urban close-range battle and the issue of weapons. When a mobile suit is packing "Plot armour" then all reasoning is thrown out reality.
The humanoid Zaku was designed to work in space and low gravity environments so of course it sucks on Earth because they are too heavy to move fast and it allowed the Feds to hold the Zeon invasion at bay till the Zeon developed the Dom and it's nuclear powered hover jets though too late to win the war. After shut first scene, the robot fart over the woman 😂😂😂
I like the fact that the zaku pilot play dead when his ms head got blowup lol.
He's basically screwed otherwise. that zaku was useless after losing it's arms and it's head. at that point He's probably praying they dont go for the cockpit and finish him off. if he had at least kept the head he might have been able to kick at enemy suits or try to suicide into a target and blow up his own Zaku.
Waiting bandai to make this into model kit..
