I try to teach AE to a lot of people....it's tough! This is going to be my #1 resource I point people to from here on out! Great work on this whole series!

your series have helped me so much as someone who is till green to the program. As weird as it may sound, but your tutorials helped me understand that a specific thing I'm trying to do is essentially easier to animate manually by hand than trying to find a filter or effect to do the job for me. But I will still combine it with after effects to enhance the look a bit further. Thank you so much for your hard work on all these videos.

i was hoping the layers option would be a way of addign some effects to a scene before rendering it in seperate passes

12:26 Any word if cineware is getting any updates with AE after getting 3D functionality? I love using the extract function for utilizing cappuccino and mograph data but it's not a very quick process. Just being able to export some splines instead of solids (13:03 on that tags function) that you have to replace in AE for shape layers would be a huge benefit when you have to parent/link up dozens of cloned objects. A step further would be to have that PRS data being able to update sync dynamically even after extraction.

Is this function being modified live from c4d also reflected in Epec?

Cinema4D Lite is great to learn the basics and get used to the program, but I learned the hard way that it does not offer simple hard-body collisions. The price tag of the full version (or a subscription) is simply too much for me to justify without it generating a steady stream of revenue to offset the cost. Still, Lite a great free option that has a lot of great uses.

Thank you very much for this handy tutorial. I have a question if i use the full version of c4d. Do I need this effect?

You only "need" if you want to use your c4d files in AE. In the entire video I was using the full version of c4d.

Thanks for this tutorial. Im having a problem. Everytime i import a c4d animation to ae using cineware...as soon as i add a camera in ae and click on comp camera on cineware....the c4d animation messes up and becomes glitchy and does weird stuff. Can any one help please?

Hi. Is there a method to extract a child null data? I've made a cloner animation with Step effector Time offset and converted it to alembic. Cineware plugin doesn't see the objects and their child nulls.

Thanks, Jake. Am I right, in this series remains only 7 effects? It is a really great job and interesting journey within AE

I tried to extract my camera and could not see a single thing from the scene. I tried adding a simple rectangle shaper layer, made it 3d and still couldn't see a thing. Is there any reason this would happen? I'm on C4D 2023.2.2 and After Effects 26.3.0.

you forgot that you need a external comp tag to the null to make them work on AE

Live Link is not working. How do you enable it in C4D? It's not in Preferences, Communication...

Is there a similar Blender workflow? Or is there a way to put the 3d camera-track data from AE to blender?

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I don't use blender so I'm really not sure.

There are some script called BlenderAe but it isn't work exactly like this effect, fortunately you can export your camera from Blender and some other stuff with this script

Is anyone having issues with their C4D live links? When I close my after effects. My C4D loses all of its texture and shader.

Maxon should enable redshift as a renderer. standard and physical are just so slow, it limits the usefulness of cineware🤨

  • @william_chidube

Nobody talks about the fact that a simple plane with the cineware tag applied to it doesn't come with the right position, or rotation or even scale inside of after effects. You have to waster your life manually repositioning and scaling the thing. It's so frustrating I almost hate Maxon/Adobe for it. And nobody in the world thinks it's worth the attention. smh

I find cineware to be rather pointless. Can't really do any compositing, as you have no access to Multipass render files or AOVs, so you can't really do much with it. No object buffers either.
