Have any of you been to Leadville? Such a stunning area. Even though this race whooped my ass, I looked forward to each new day...mostly for the treats at the aid stations.
Oh yes, been to LV many times. I used to live in "neighboring" Fairplay and know the areas well. Wish I could turn back the clock of aging time (lo) in order to consider doing that Run. Great video as always! Thank you so much.
My girl friend and I hitch hiked through Colorado back in '71 or '72. Some friends drove us to Rocky Mountain National Park and we went hitch hiked from there to the west coast and back to the east coast through Canada. A cop escorted us out of Leadville so we never got to see much of it. "We don't want your kind around these parts." Ah, the memories! That girl friend and I got married about 5 years later and eventually raised two boys, aged 28 (today!) and 41. My wife and I can go back to any part of that trip and bask in the memories. Leadville is kind of a blank. Ouray was more memorable.
I have to say, I’ve watched quite a few videos on this years Trans Rockies run and by far... yours are the best. Best content, best music, most entertaining, informative AND FUN. Love your energy and positivity. Usually I wait til the end of the day to watch a new RVD video but glad I decided to take a work break and watch. Definitely rejuvenating. Thaaaaank yoooouuuu!!!!!
Duze! Nice vid! Btw, liked the part about the 10th Mountain Infantry Division. On my mom's side of the family, they're from Finland, and they settled in northern Michigan to mine iron ore. Grandma's brother, George Maki, was in that division. They pushed the Japanese out of the Aleutian Islands, and then they fought in Italy. My uncle's claim to fame is that he got to drive General Patton around. He knew the guys who started the ski industry in Vail and Aspen, and after the war he toured with the Sportsmens' Show as a professional skiier. All grandma's brothers were into skiing, and I figured that I'd be a natural. Tried cross country, and fell an awful lot, hard too, and gave it up. ROFL!!!! Best wishes on the rest of the run!
Damn what a fine event this is and Colorado is just off the scale in terms of beauty and explorable terrain. Glad to see you're enjoying it post early pain niggles Ryan.
It's incredible that you end up so close to the podium, while spending so much time at the aid stations - and filming as well! Good job. Also for switching to the system that makes sense - the metric one!
You have inspired me to start running. Tomorrow to the mail box. Not the next day, or next month, but someday, maybe to the mail box and back. But seriously, I do have a strong desire to visit Colorado. And probably a lot more likely than me taking up running.
Awesome video (again 👍)! Rode the Davis Phinney Copper Triangle bike ride annually to Leadville through Camp Hale to Vail then back to Copper. Beautiful beautiful beautiful so thanks for the memories Duzer!
Ryan, I have to say, I look forward to meeting you in person. You spoke to us at Columbine when I was in elementary school, I also grew up with Ethan. I have mad love for you and your family. Just remember me as the one who couldn't understand why anyone would put a bad like on your video. Haha! So much light and love to you man. Keep banging on the transformers. ;)
No way!! Great to hear from you buddy! I totally remember you. Thanks for watching my vids. Hope life is treating you well, I'll tell Ethan that you say hello
Not gonna lie. I was kind of sad not to see 1. you wearing a melly and 2. Not showing the store as you ran by. What a fun and inspirational video though!
Duzer, not one negative like on this video. I stand by what you said! Haha, looks like no one misclicked the like button! Haha, So much love to you bro. Enjoying your adventure with you.

Did you know that Colorado holds the world record for the highest freeway tunnel? It’s the esinhower Memorial tunnel I-70. It’s at 11,120 feet.
Outdoors type people always have that funny weird sense of humor and in a better mood than most other people. I love it
I agree, we get high off weird things...like pain, haha!
Another great video. Not sure why you don’t have a million subs.
Tell one million of your closest friends to sub!! haha, I'm working on it, slow process, but I love it

I was blown away by the organization of this event!
USA has the best scenery. To have this expanse of pristine land to explore must be amazing. If only I could do it.
I feel pretty lucky to live here
Colorado is a beautiful state.

That "Inter-Laken" is a nice pun. Interlaken is a town in Switzerland located between two lakes in the Swiss alps.
