I came to this site because I pulled my copy of Kitchen Table Wisdom which I have had and read since 2000. I was rereading Rachel's opening comments and weeping as usual because of her great heart and decided to find her on youtube. I just love her...her deep compassion and heart....her sensitivity and for opening my heart and mind!! When my mother was laying in bed near death, I read to her from Kitcehen Table Wisdom...we were both moved to tears which was a miracle because we had never been close before. Namaste'

I too have loved Rachel Naomi Remen's writing for many years. I am certain she has indeed healed the world for many. What a gift she is.

I am in heave. with this talk. I am a dermatologist from Brazil and I am in process to be an junguiana analist! I use to cite the Rachel’ histories in my classes of Psicodermatoses! I would like to say: Thanks!

    Hello Micheal, Naomi and Kyra,
Thirty-six years ago ( 1986) i was finishing my first year of recovery in AA and Alanon. I also immediately found myself both a Therapist and a sponsor. I remember one of my great Mentors at the time Bob Earll mentioning the Moyers documentary maybe in the early 1990’s. Bob was one of those new AA’s that was speaking to the 12 step community about the function of mind, body, spirit in addiction recovery. Which was still relatively cutting edge for the AA community. It seems much of the work in addiction recovery, trauma recovery etc etc was somehow all related. I became a recreation therapist ( yoga, Tia chi, wilderness therapy) and later entered Jungian analysis where i started to write poems. I’m not all to familiar with Naomi. But I somehow feel Her and Micheals footprints where ever i go. I like Kyra’s refined, stylish, warm, welcoming energy ( John Beebe would call this introverted feeling) ) which so many “ new age” programs lack. This Anima energy would often show up as a “guide” in many Men and Women’s dreams. Jeff

Gosh, Jeff! Thank you for your thoughts and for joining us. Very flattered to be called "stylish and warm" -- good to know our work is landing well out there. Warm blessings.

Is there any way to get a copy of the beautiful poem that Rachel read. I can think of Special Education teachers that would be greatly encouraged by the words of the poet.
