- I am ExactChaos and I play all kinds of tycoon games.
I am a city planner because I loved SimCity while growing up. I have enjoyed figuring out simulation and tycoon games since before I can remember. Even now in adulthood (if you can call me that) I still enjoy nothing more than spending a few cosy hours with a simulation game, you know those that require a bit of thinking. You will see stuff like Airport CEO, Cities Skylines, Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic, Banished, Project Hospital and anything else new and exciting in that genre on this channel. The focus, you guessed it, to figure things out and constantly improve.

In this series we play Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic using the new realistic mode, that’s right no getting out of jail with mistakes, and we look at what is new since we last played. WR:SR is an intensive city builder and resources tycoon hybrid. You plan and build your city, but also manage the economy of your glorious soviet republic. This includes, managing workers and resources to create or import what the republic needs and to export the surplus and maintain a healthy bank balance. In this series we go so far as to manage electricity infrastructure and fuel for vehicles. It is awesome, trust me.

Save often. I've been playing with the new beta stuff, but ended up having to send my save-game to the devs, so they could fix it, which they did within 12 hours. They are fantastic! I'm looking forward to your new series! You really do have to plan ahead, no auto-build, no auto-buy. Good luck!

I never played Workers and Resources myself, but having basiclly a USSR Simulator is pretty intresting. Especially since I always had an intrest in the history of communism (I am no communist myself, just a little history nerd), so I bet I would like the game
Its very easy to accidentally end up freezing your people to death. Shows quiet well the difficulties of centrally planning an economy.

That second kindergarten looks a lot as the one I attended to and you placed it with playground entry to the road. :P
Tiny radio is rather useless. Gains scales with workers, so they gonna be in promiles. Not worth educated workplaces early on. Medium might work with high producitivity and loyality, but I go with vanilla or something with similar size after dissapointments of previous maps. Alcohol gives much greater happyness boost and is much cheaper and easier to produce than electronics.
Excellent advice thanks. I have not yet played with the loyalty and productivity mechanics so will be a bit of a learning curve. Would you suggest not supplying the store with electronics, but instead making sure there is a pub available?
@@ExactChaos I skip electronics early on, but play on medium demands.
@22:05 I'm a bit late to the party so you are probably way past this in terms of what you ended up doing, but that first intersection into the first city, there should be enough space to put in a trumpet interchange, even with that hill on the outside of the highway.

Do you happen to have a mods list? love the idea of a pure realistic mode but im having huge struggles getting started, Cant import and cant find the mods that can be used as the building not up yet but still have vehicles. Thanks for any info
I am not really using game altering mods, with the exception of improved border posts. If you are not able to import directly from the border, you may not be on the experimental branch of the game. If you switch to experimental you should be able to import.
We ate golden now lol. Just trying to figure out the new water and sewage stuff but wow the game is even better now in my opinion.

South Africa, but I have lived in the Middle East and Australia so it may have shifted a bit over time.

Playing realistic difficulty with totally unrealistic mods is easy as f***.
