He’s always been real that’s why I’m glad he’s not with the golden hour king and the sting was dope but he’s genuine and funny people can relate to him ❤
Shapel is a real one! He's the prime example of someone being better than the people he's associated with and others being able to recognize that and roll with him.
Preach. I really feel like him being on tfatk held him back. It gave him coverage but in a bad way. Tht type of podcasting is not his thing wht so ever. His stand up is legit good. Better than Rogan and schaub. 100% You have to have tht it factor and lacy has it. ( not tfatk podcasting though) U either have it or you dont. Rogans been doing it for 30 plus yrs and he still doesnt Have it. BRENDA TRIES SOOO HARD but no matter how mang shows he will do. He wont have it.
Bro, I’m in my early 30’s and went to multiple therapists as a teen and it was always a fucking joke. When I hear comics talk about therapy I always laugh because that shit doesn’t work. I was listening to this while grocery shopping and at one point stopped in my tracks and said “holy shit”, because mother fucking Chip made me realize I’m pretty fucked up and just haven’t seen a legit therapist. There were multiple moments where I realized the various ways I’m fucked up from my childhood, and I’m straight up passing it on down the line. Now thanks to Shapel I have to actually find a God damn therapist because those questions he mentioned hit hard as a mother fucker.
Better than or worse than Rogan or Schaub is definitely a matter of opinion even though I may agree. Also before I even finished the comment about therapy not working I was sure that person just hadn't found the right one. Most of all though Shapel's white family who raised him should be so proud because I am definitely in agreement that he has a great head on his shoulders especially being around all of the toxic people in Hollywood!!
I am soo glad Ryan gave Shapel the space too have his quiet moment moment without interuptions. Sometimes saying nothing just letting silence doing its job and wait for the guest get to his words. Great moment!
Watched both of these episodes and having nothing but the utmost respect for Shapel. It breaks my heart hearing that no one had even asked him what he genuinely liked in life until he was a teenager. Us honeydew fans need to find his teacher and get a reunion going for those 2. I'd love to hear an episode 3 of this journey how he met back up with Chip and got to thank him for all of the support and kind words. That phone call to tell him please don't go beat up your step-dad may have saved his life in more ways than 1.
I still remember where I was and what I was doing the first time I heard Shapel's story. I know this time will be no different. Your a true inspiration and shout out to Ryan for giving this HoneyDew a platform to help others.
Seeing Shapel being so happy he is emotional is touching! What a vulnerable and real moment to have. Thank you for sharing that with us! Just so everyone here knows this particular community has gotten me through some hard times and has motivated me to reach out and start therapy and work on myself.
I am awe struck by Shapel journey. This inspired me to seek anger management for myself. I relate to his journey so much and it gives me hope that I can someday be as resilient as he is. This specific episode is going to be my comfort audio whenever I’m feeling I need to stomp someone’s chest in. Thank you Ryan Sickler & Shapel. Y’all keep doing the damn thing
The saying that his self esteem is his and not his step father's is pretty profound. If I didn't already have a pretty great self esteem that would be a pretty heavy statement. I love how Ryan can make light of dark situations and not offend anyone. Granted Shapel is also great about that too.
Shoutout to Shapel. Real men cry. We do feel. And the feeling of love is so strong it boils up in all forms of emotion. We love you. Keep wearing THIS jacket
Awww Shapel. As a mama I would be proud if one of my children turned out to be such a compassionate, talented and genuine human being such as yourself. The world is yours for the taking Shapel!
He’s so correct! When you’re abused you don’t know sometimes until it’s pointed out to you. It’s so important to point out ptsd happens to people that aren’t veterans. Love to you Hermano! Thank you for exemplifying the healing powers of storytelling. Love you Ryan!
Man this is something just so likeable and sincere about him. You can tell he has a kind soul Also, I fucking cried laughing @ 40:50 lmaooo "she asked what my home life was like and that's when I....." ".....started swining" lmaoo sickler killed me there
I hope Shapel comes back to the comments again man, he’s such a genuine dude with a big heart and he deserves to see the amount of love the fans have for him.
I'M GLAD SHAPEL CAN FINALLY TELL HIS TRUE STORY WITHOUT FEAR OF GETTING JOKES CRACKED UNLIKE THE LAST PLACE HE WAS ON. HE TRULY IS A GOOD DUDE AND DESERVES THAT MONEY FOR THE RACE WON 😂😂😂
Sickler will go down in history as one of the greatest interviewers of all time. The honesty and raw emotion he allows guests to display is heart wrenching and beautiful
New record! Tears in the first 10 minutes! I friggin love Shapel! I haven't gotten to see his stand-up, but he adds realness, and tons of laughs to every pod he's been a part of.
10:36 That moment I thought my internet broke again.... But it was only Shapel. Love you bro! You doing FINE! As a man who can relate... I never seen my father since I was 2yo. I'm 35 now. That joke "I'll stomp your chest in, don't talk about my dad" I died of laughter! But years ago I would start swining too....
What a great guy!! I started crying the moment he stopped talking at the beginning. Kudos to you Sickler for having such a sincere audience and intriguing, yet super broken guests.
Damn, this was a great episode. Shoutout to Chip, I really hope Shapel somehow finds a way to reconnect with him🙏 thanks for this Ryan as always, realest podcast in the game there's no contest
Shapel is the very definition of a gentle giant. He's the kinda dude I'd just feel comfortable hanging around. So glad I found this show and have the privilege of being a part of this beautiful community!
One of if not my favorite episode. I couldn’t stop smiling, I burst out laughing a number of times. Idk if it’s because Ryan feels Shapel is like him, or what, but I’m so glad they found each other and gave us all a chance to watch them interact for some great story telling.
Dude I agree, I couldn’t be one of those haters in the comments, so I had to go 😅 even The Golden Hour (formerly King and the Sting) needs just….. one less person…..
The beginning made me straight cry. He is just a wonderful incredible person who has over came so much to get where he is and it makes me so happy he finally sees how loved he is
It's odd how we can connect with someone through this medium. Yet sometimes peoples' stories, even if you've never met them, resonate with your own. Shapel definitely has my support going forward. Comes within 100 miles, I'll be there. Selling shirts or albums, I'll buy one. You have a like, comment, and subscribe in me. One of my favorite episodes of the HoneyDew so far.
Mr. Shapel… you’ve come along way. Embrace it all brother. You deserve it. Every episode with Sickler humbles me every time. Every guest and every life story. Keep your head up.
Hats off to this guy. Being adopted myself and proud of the people who took me from a terrible situation, man it’s beautiful hearing him talk about it and wear it as a badge of honor and a not give a fuck attitude about it. Gives me so much pride to know who he is and hear his stories.
Two out of three of my favorite people I don't actually know. 💜 I've never cried while listening to a podcast before, but I did today. I wish I could meet you and hug you, Shapel. I'm so proud of you for being such a sincere and kind person in spite of your circumstances.
Shapel is a good good dude and i wish nothing but the best for him. Also 40:50 might be the greatest off the cuff moment of all time. Had me doubled over laughing!😂
Never knew Shapel until his last honeydew. He's hilarious and you can tell he's a good guy. Glad he read the comments section, hope he reads this one too. Ryan, this podcast is like therapy for us and I'm sure for the guests as well, thank you.
Thank you Ryan. Thank you Shapel. This is truly one of the best parts of my week. It's great to see Shapel on here again! Amazing stories from a great comedian! GO. SEE. HIM. Always look forward to the Honey Dew with Ya'll , too!
I saw Shapel when he came to Boise and thought he was awesome! Really enjoyed his stories both times he has been in the Dew. Started listening after Ryan was on the Ellis show and have listened to every episode and am now making my way through the Feast. Love what you are doing.
Just in case you read this comment, as someone born and raised in the valley of the sun and a stand-up fan, we couldn't be more proud of you and who you are.
Shapel reminds me of my step son. He's always been a blessing to me and we've always been really close. The kids is great at everything he does: school, soccer, theater and choir. Very proud of him and he's just as important to me as my other 2 kids.
They don’t make em any better than Shapel. You are extremely genuine and I couldn’t imagine anyone not being capable distinguishing that. Much love, bro❤
glad to see shapel back on here. although tfatk is what it is, i was very glad to be introduced to shapel. and as a hardcore kid myself, i fw him heavy
This is great. I was just thinking about Chapel. I was doing some research and couldn't find what he is up to now. I can't find his podcast anymore. Nice to see him and catch up with what he's up to.
Two delightful humans. This episode was so heartfelt. Shapel deserves all good things in life.
Man, Shapel is such a good guy. Damn near made me cry just by being real and vulnerable
He’s always been real that’s why I’m glad he’s not with the golden hour king and the sting was dope but he’s genuine and funny people can relate to him ❤
Shapel is a real one! He's the prime example of someone being better than the people he's associated with and others being able to recognize that and roll with him.
The power of just being nice and having some empathy can change lives. Thanks Ryan and Shapel.
No doubt Shapel is one of the most sincere and real guys I’ve ever seen
Preach.
I really feel like him being on tfatk held him back.
It gave him coverage but in a bad way.

I am soo glad Ryan gave Shapel the space too have his quiet moment moment without interuptions. Sometimes saying nothing just letting silence doing its job and wait for the guest get to his words. Great moment!
He's super skilled now at letting the conversation breathe, same like Rogan.
He sure didn’t give josh wolf any room to speak last week. Just squealed at his own jokes for an hour.

Miss this guys podcast. He’s humble and caring, but the way he also carry’s his brothers memory with him in his heart is powerful.
I still remember where I was and what I was doing the first time I heard Shapel's story. I know this time will be no different. Your a true inspiration and shout out to Ryan for giving this HoneyDew a platform to help others.
Was a fan of Shapels work…. Now I’m just a fan of the man. Wishing you nothing but success. This podcast is a blessing.
I'm excited for this one. Shapel Lacey was SO SO good his first time on. Way to kick off the year Sickler! Happy Tooesdee y'all! 💚
Seeing Shapel being so happy he is emotional is touching! What a vulnerable and real moment to have. Thank you for sharing that with us! Just so everyone here knows this particular community has gotten me through some hard times and has motivated me to reach out and start therapy and work on myself.
40:48 Ryans ability to break the tension and catch other professionals off guard is UNMATCHED and one of the main reasons I love this show.
Sickler truly bothered me last episode so deeply I cannot stand his stupid laugh or fake concern any longer.
Dude what he said to shapel had me cracking up
I actually slapped my knee and guffawed
That was hilarious!!🤣🤣
@@tonymarselle8812If you think Sickler is fake, you have to recalibrate your radar. I hope you're well.
Shapel is one of my favorite guests on this show. I Can listen to this man reflect forever. Go on my man 🙏🏽
Ryan and Shapel make the perfect good human duo. I love how genuine they both are. It’s so encouraging in this crazy world.
Damn it! Why cant this show be like 4 hours!?! Ryan is so great at listening and leading the conversation.
This might be my favorite episode so far. So much love for Shapel
I am awe struck by Shapel journey. This inspired me to seek anger management for myself.

Love Shapel and only Ryan can get this kind of honesty out of an interview. 🥰
The saying that his self esteem is his and not his step father's is pretty profound. If I didn't already have a pretty great self esteem that would be a pretty heavy statement. I love how Ryan can make light of dark situations and not offend anyone. Granted Shapel is also great about that too.
Ryan squeals like a pig.

I can't believe how much love I can feel for 2 people I've never met ... and most likely never will. Great pod gentlemen!
Lmao. “Stomp your chest in” is my favorite line. And coming from a cheerleader makes it even more hilarious 😂😂😂
Hit him with the “you’re used to being on other shows” 😅 it’s crazy how far tfatk has fallen, and they’re too dense to see it’s their own fault.
What is tfatk?
@@tonymarselle8812 the fighter and the kid

PROTECT YA CHEST PLAYA 🤣🤣🤣
Shapel has so much to offer this world. Would love to see him write a film.
His life would make a hell of a film just on the honeydew stories alone. Would love to see that some day
So happy to see Shapel back on the Dew. I rarely comment, but I just wanted to shout-out to this wholehearted man.
So much honesty in Shapel. Genuine dude. Thanks Shapel. You are helping a lot of people.
Shapel is an incredible human being. Thank you for sharing your story.

@Benjamin Eyers That is the sweetest comment. I felt that shit
Chip Chilton sounds like the name of a TV weatherman lol
Or soap opera star. Lol😂
Shapel is so honest, funny and just an all around good man. I really look up to you 😁
